Hi! Thank you so much for sharing this video and your tips with us. If you have the time, I hope you can answer these questions: 1. The program I plan to apply to asks to submit a Europass CV. A common tip for those applying to graduate school is to have a concise CV. Due to the Europass CV, a CV that is less than two pages turn into four. Would you happen to have any tips on how to craft a concise CV using the Europass template? 2. Do you advise explaining the need for the financial scholarship on the Letter of Motivation or saving it for the application form section dedicated to "additional information?" Thank you very much once again, and keep safe.
Hi Trisha, good questions! 1. Europass CV is the recommended CV when applying for an erasmus program - and yes, the conciseness rule still applies - try to keep it within 2 pages - take out irrelevant details. 2. well I believe you can, your motivation letter is very personal to you. However, don't focus too much on the "explanation for the need for financial assistance", rather focus more on motivation for studying the course and the impact you hope to make by studying the program.
hi Esther, where did u get the stat about the number of candidates from a country @ 2:33 ? Is it for a single masters program or is it for all Erasmus Mundes masters programs for that year?
it was a valid rule when i applied for the program - for each master program. However, it's advisable you check your program website for updated rules. cheers!
Am I to submit the mail of my referees to the program website for them to upload thw reference themself, or am I the one to upload the recommendation myself?
I think it differs from one program to another, some ask you to upload the letters and others ask for your referees to upload themselves, I suggest you to read comprehensively about your desired program and what are the specific requirements and so
Hey thanks alot. I got a conditional offer. My program wants IELTS result in August 2022 but my scholarship anouncement is early April I can only provide my IELTS in July. Will that effect my scholarship award if I don't have IELTS before April ?
Congratulations on the offer. I will advise you contact the program coordinators to find out. It will be better to submit your IELTS before then though. But still reach out to the cordinator. Cheers!
Hi Esther, for my example of work can i add everything i have done i i just add one example. I feel like one is not enough but i dont want to overwhelm them with work experience, projects etc
Hi Chi, you don't have to add all you've done, Only add experiences relevant to your chosen program. Also get someone to review your cv and motivation letter, that helps too.
Hmm, if the programs are closely related yes. The thing is, each program have their peculiarities and it will be of advantage if you focus on the peculiarity of each program in your SOP. So try not to be generic in your SOP, if you modify well, you sure can
Greeting Dear I am applying for International master in security intelligence and strategic studies. Can you review my sop and motivation letter please? I am too much confused about the accuracy of Sop
I'm not sure what you mean by the standard one though. But it's safe to use Europass format. If you are sure the standard one you are referring to works for European schools, then it's fine
Well, I'm not quite sure of that. As of last year, I think it was allowed to apply for more than 3 programs. Just make sure the application quality are good for each. You can follow the EMA Nigeria Facebook group for recent updates. Rules keep changing y'know
If it is relevant to other aspects- e.g if it is relevant in building your leadership skills or communication skills. Just try to make it relevant to a soft skill
You can get it from your local government or from your employer- check this out facebook.com/297526510724647/posts/residency-certificateproof-of-place-of-residencevarious-erasmus-programs-would-r/485009351976361/
Sure you can, but pay attention to the part where you have to choose if you belong to the programme country and partner country. For example: check this www.master-tribos.eu/application_info/scholarship_possibilities/erasmus_mundus_scholarships/
IElts is mandatory for Erasmus? I have english proficiency certificate from unii because my bachelor degree was instructed in English language. Can I apply?
it depends on the program, check the requirements for the program you are applying to. Some are not so specific about the type of English test while some are.
Can you answer my questions please? What do you meant by 3 applicants can be selected from one country? Is it like 3 applicants can be selected for one course from the same country?
As at the time this video was created: for a given course/program, only maximum of 3 people can be selected from the same country. The rules might have changed. So you need to check the specific rule for the program you are applying to. Cheers!
So do I have to apply for the scholarship only [per the program listed] ?? or I am supposed to apply to the host School which automatically qualifies me for the scholarship?.....thank you
No you don't apply to the host school. You just need to apply to the program. Just apply for the scholarship not to the host school. If you need further clarification please let me know.
either ways, just make sure your submission is of great quality, some of the programs start evaluating when the application close, except if the program states that it's on rolling basis, then it makes sense to submit early, otherwise, just take your time and ensure that everything is in order before submitting.
Hello , thanks for your tips , I have a question , can you use the same recommendation letter for all three programmes that you are applying for ? or each program needs its unique recommendation?
well, it's advisable you write an SOP tailored to each program based on the requirements of the program. A generic SOP won't make your application stand out
Hi, I watched your video and it really motivated me to apply for this program. You have made some really good points and I really appreciated you for that. I was having some doubts, however, that I couldnt find anywhere on youtube or the internet, so if you could please help me on those that would be really great: 1. Can you apply to a program that is not exaclty relevant to your bachelors. For example I did electrical engineering but I am genuinely intrested in maths. There is only one program in EMJM which is intermaths that is inter-disciplinary maths. The requirements says engineering students can apply and in my bachelors, we studied five course related to applied maths. But I just wanted to confirm how much is my bachelors relevant to it. 2. I have 2 years work experience from reputable company in my country but it is also related to electrical engineering. How much does it effect my application profile? Thank you.
Hello Muhammed, You are always welcome. 1. Most programs specify possible backgrounds that can apply. In the case of Intermath, I believe in the program requirement, there should be a mention of the related bachelors background that can apply. However, if still in doubt, do not hesistate to reach out to the program contact email. They are always happy to assist you. 2. Work experience in related fields is definitely a plus, I would just advise that you find a way to relate it to the new program you are apply for- cheers.
@@techwithtomi Thank you for such an elaborative response. Can you please comment on my this query too: My professional experience is in a military organization and in my country military personnel don't have public email addresses. 1. So in that case can I use gmail as a contact email of referee? 2. How much do you think it can affect my profile value? 3. How should I explain to them like is there a special procedure for that or I just explain it to the respective program coordinator for EMJM program? 4. Do you know of such cases in which applicants had military experience and how they did referring thing. Again I would like to appreciate your content as it is a comprehensive guide on this topic and I believe not only this video but also the comment section would be a great help for aspirants. Thanks
