    WAIT!!! You do not need to remove the glove compartment to replace the blower motor!!!!!. The little plastic cover that is attached to the bottom of the glove box can be pulled off by hand (3 clips), then you have access to the three bolts that hold the blower in place. Just unscrew the bolts, unplug the wiring harness, fit the new motor in place of the old one, plug in the wiring harness, and replace the cover. Removing the glove box is totally unnecessary and adds about an hour to a 30 minute job!!!!

    Just changed mine on ls400. Could have done it without removing glovebox. Broke a clip too but got motor replaced and all is good! Thanks!

    Thanks! Had a couple leaves making noise in my 01 ES300's blower. Took about 15 minutes to get everything out and back in. Definitely needed to remove the entire glovebox assembly unlike what Jack Holland suggests below. His car is probably different, definitely didn't take an hour, or even 30 minutes.

    Thanks for this clear and easy to understand video.I have a 2010 Lexus LS460. My AC makes a loud noise each time I turn the car on and then it just about goes dead. When I'm driving on the highway, I feel some cool air coming through. The dealer told me that "it" needs to be replaced and costs almost $500 including labor. Is it possible that it's just the HVAC blower behind the glove compartment? I'm hoping it is so that I can do it myself. My lease is almost over and I would hate to have to spend $500. Can you please tell me if it sounds like the HVAC blower? Thanks in advance.

    I have a 1995 LS400, the airconditioning blows cold and hot, however, the fan seems to be not blowing properly, even ifI set it on the highest blower setting, the airconditioning fan is still not that good, I checked my cabin air filter and its pretty dirty, im getting a replacement tomorrow. Do you think I need to replace the blower motor on my car too?
    Thank you!

    It is easy long as the sap you got it from didn't cut the wire harness...LOL! 😝 Thanks for encouraging folks to do their own repairs. I just replaced the rear bumper on my 2011 Rave4...$280 bucks on line and was painted the correct color...Local body shop wanted $2200...🤑...ouch! You wouldn't believe how easy it is to replace!

    Hey I know this is an old video but my 94 Camry was stuck on high for a while and just recently went completely out. I'm thinking it's the blower motor resistor and maybe the blower motor itself as well. Do you know where the blower motor resistor on a 94 Camry is

    In my 2001 lexus es300. When i turn my ac on, it start making a noise. Could it be the blower?

  • @RossCrain
    @RossCrain 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    My IS300 ac blows a slight amount of cold air out. But will not increase in volume. Does work well when car is going down highway and I set AC to intake rather than circulate air. Is this the blower?

    • @jamiejonesthecarman
      @jamiejonesthecarman  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Great question it does sound like you might have low Freon if the fan is blowing at his normal rate but it's just not cold it's probably a Freon level issue

    • @RossCrain
      @RossCrain 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks so much. Is it safe to just add the freon myself or should I "clean out the old stuff" first?

    if my air(cold or hot) does not come out when i set the temp, could it be that the blower motor needs to be replaced?

    • @jamiejonesthecarman

      This is my problem the settings work but neither hot or cold air blows out. I was told it could be because I have a coolant leak or maybe even the thermostat?

      i havent replaced that part but it definitely seems to be the problem. the connections were fried. had to replace the wires.

      Eunique Isaacs Hey Man, I thought that I had responded to your question but noticed this morning that my reply wasn't showing up so I'm sorry about that. Ok, it definitely sounds like your fan motor is bad. Its not a very hard job to replace it and if you need some help, I can walk you through it step by step. Let me know!!

    Randomness at its best.....but after viewing this and hearing your views on DIYers, i think I may have found someone that could help direct me in my current task .
    I am a woman that has been working on my own cars for about two years as a result of being bullied, disrespected and demeaned by way too many male mechanics. If possible, could you please contact me so I can pick your brain and hopefully move forward in my current endeavor?
