I've tried making lemon curd muffins, but the curd always sinks to the bottom - how do I get it to stay at the top?

Maybe you could bake the muffin mix a couple minutes first before then adding the curd so it creates some crust on the bottom? Sort of like how you bake the empty tart before adding the filling to finish baking together?
Or maybe just make smaller muffins in a mini-cupcake tin so you can just smash one in your mouth all at once and no one‘s the wiser lol
