    Probably the best teacher of Dynamo I've watched on youtube. You not only show us how it works, but explain to us in a clear manner on why it works that way.
    Thanks for all the tips and advice!

      +ArchSmarter I am a BIM Engineer for my company. Our estimators are in need of a much faster and streamlined process. I'm looking to utilize this as a base point for a more specific script that will allow location based model quantity numbers.. sq. ft. of X at Y location, or linear sq. ft. of X on floors 4-12... etc.

    This is great. My 2 complaints are there are no headers and the export doesn't list in the correct order. I am not sure what is happening with that. For example if I have 101, 102, 103 104 and 105, the order in excel is 101, 102, 104, 105, 103.

    What about the sequence in which dynamo reads the elements? When you have like 30 rooms wouldn't it be all randomized in excel?

    • @ArchSmarter
      @ArchSmarter  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Abner Jr. Paredes The order of rooms in the output to Excel is based on when they were created in Revit. It is possible to sort them in Dynamo before exporting them.

    Just one question. Is there any way we can do this without opening dynamo? For example, made some changes in Excel and automatically reflect those updates in Revit without loading dyanmo.
    I understand dynamo is the key here but I am wondering if there another way.

    • @MichaelKilkellyAIA
      @MichaelKilkellyAIA 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry, there's no way to run the script without opening Dynamo. You could use a macro or add-in, but that's a different issue.

    Hi, is it possible to create a true bi-directional link between Revit and Excel using this method?For example, change a window size in Revit, run the Dyn graph and it updates in excel. Change the same number in Excel, run the Dyn graph and the window changes in Revit. I've tried, but to no avail.

    Hey, great tutorial!
    I would like to know if it´s possible to use Dynamo on a revit project which is set up on A360. Its basically a shared model, where several person are working on. Would every single person need dynamo? And is it possible to save the excel sheet on dropbox or similar cloud tool and keep the linking in both way working?

    • @ArchSmarter
      @ArchSmarter  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Eva Chan I haven't tested Dynamo with A360 but it should work. Dynamo links to whatever is the active file in Revit. I don't think an A360 file would be any different than a file on the local computer, as far as Dynamo is concerned. Every person would only need Dynamo if there were going to open the graph and run it. Unless every person's local path to their Dropbox folder is the same, I suspect everyone would need to remap the filepath to the Excel file. Good questions! I'll do some testing on my end.
