Awesome review. I have the Pxc-iis and you are right about most things. It is awesome for listening to songs and making calls. While NC is not the best it does the job without compromising on comfort.

Great content :) I bought the XM4s after watching your review and I found everything very accurate except the only issue that the inner sides of the cups touched my ears and it started hurting quite bad after long sessions. I guess it's just my ears xD. Also, I had this faint waterfall like static white noise when ANC was turned on. I am guessing its normal for the XM4s. Correct me if I'm wrong... Have a good one DHRME! That really is my main complaint with these headphones. I hate that notifications and audio from the secondary device interrupts media that I’m actively paying attention to. It shouldn’t do that. Other than that I’m extremely fond of these headphones. Very comfy, good, flat sound profile, excellent noise cancelling, etc… Highly recommend.
With the transparency mode there is a side note, *you can try this and replicate the results for yourselves I'm sure* When using zoom for class and video calls, transparency mode will sometimes activate while still playing the audio from a call. I also had a time where I was watching youtube on my laptop, I switched the audio from "Stereo" to "Hands-free audio" and the same thing happened, pass through or transparency was active while the audio from the video still plays. I haven't fully figured out why it happens with zoom, I have swapped between stereo and hands free audio to see what triggers it, as it doesn't always seem to happen.. Been using this for 6-7 months now, I'm one of those who don't like wireless audio ( quality) this is the only pair of headphones that I can use to listen to music ( returned XM4 twice... thought the first pair was faulty due to that thick blob kind of sound...with the second pair, understood the new meaning of punchy audio....)
If someone is watching the review now, PXC 2 can be connected to PC/Laptop with Bluetooth button on the right ear cup switched off. The headphone keeps charging and you can listen to music using USB A cable. You still have access to touch controls for music pause play, volume up down, track prev/next. You can take calls too, and you can mute unmute by swiping left/right If you want to fast forward the video, you can swipe to the right and hold, Awesome flat signature sound too :)
You can actually connect to 3 devices simultaneously. 1 - wired using the USB cable and 2 devices via Bluetooth. Transparency mode while listening to music actually exists too! Using the Wired Option (USB), activate the transparency mode (this pauses your video or music) then, play the video or music again. After that, you'll have transparency while listening to music or watch a video.
Almost 5 years later, this is still a lackluster upgrade compared to its original version which was a 2016 release. Have they put out a better one since then or something?

Overall I liked these headphones. They sound much better than the Sony XM4 IMHO. They were light, pretty comfortable and felt premium but I found the power being the earcup twist infuriating. The app and features semi buggy and the earcups were a little narrow for me.
Sennheisers Firmware Update 1.6.2 lately fixes all (?) Problems you did rightfully describe. Now the PXC 550 II is realy a best buy. Thank you for your helpful work!
had the 1st gen, tried the 2nd gen 550 but decided to keep the 1st gen. The sound from the 1st gen to me sound better...nit sure how to describe it but just sounded better even in blind test. Not sure if Sennheiser change something to the sound signature.

Which one is best in terms of sound quality and sound receiver in other side in terms of calls like Skype or zoom or teams calls. Is it loud and clear. Is it better than bose N700. Please suggest
How can I wirelessly use this as a work from home headset if it doesn't have a USB dongle to connect to my work PC? Many work PCs have a locked Bluetooth functionality so this one unfortunately won't work for me. I mean, on Reddit they say it supports Sennheiser's BTD 800 USB dongle but I'm not willing to gamble on it and get stuck with something which doesn't work. Also this dongle isn't exactly cheap so for the price of both, I start getting near the price of the EPOS adapt 660 which comes standard with the USB dongle and has better connectivity.

@@DHRME I mean, I tend to prior sound quality.I tried XM4's(300 USD) vs XB's (150 USD) and didn't really found a reason to justify the price difference between them in terms of sound quality. So, I don't know if that would be the case comparing them with PXC's. I also tend to listen a lot of pop/house music, so I want a good bass that doesn't cause ear fatigue...
@@DHRME well they boast similar specs as the xm4's and Bose 700s. And Yamaha has some expertise in professional audio. They just entered this segment (and True wireless). Surprisingly under marketed. Only review I could find so far was in Reddit. Please review it.

I have this headphone and it is great and light weight veeery light weight and comfortable but not comfortable as bose QC35 II to be honest but as second after bose About multi device connection with my android phone it is nice, put as you say phone 1 and phone 2 😂👌 So I am force to chech which phones does connect with them and to be honest I have 3 phones and all bluetooth on so I have to chech which phone is not connected 🤣🤣

I bought these a couple months ago and I'm very happy with them because of the great, great sound quality ánd because of the anti-wind option. Living in the Netherlands and therefore being on my bicycle every day, I think having this option is an absolute must! The Sony xm3's for example are really bad when there's any wind. Ps your channel is awesome
