How fast does a typical automatic sliding door move?

It has to be open by the time you have reached it while walking at a normal pace, which could be around 5 kmh. If it detect you at 2 meters away from the door then it has to be open at half that speed or more. Since a sliding door has a meter or slightly more to travel in a typical installation, it has to move at around 1 meter per second. There are also laws in many countries that govern how long it has to remain open to accommodate a disability.
