Linear actuator door opener

  • This was done for a ceiling cabinet with a projector many years ago.
The 3d printed brackets have yellow screws to reinforce them, the big screw holding the linear actuator goes right through the side of the cabinet with a wing nut attached, so in case of malfunction it is possible to open the cabinet by simply unscrewing the wing nut and pushing the long screw through the side and the bigger bracket.

I found this great. Wondering if you can do up a simple drawing of this same thing in a recliner position with a vertical to flat motion. ( 90 degrees )I am looking to build some power recliners in a more custom way rather than the stuff sold these days.
This diagram and video are almost 100% what I am looking for.
I am trying for independent back rest and foot rest. The frame would be solid wood and not springs with upholstery attached.

I would like to open similar doors kitchen cabinets like you have, size is 590mm x 190mm x 20mm (MDF), enough one drive ?
And the second bracket on the door, it is also a 3D printing?
How do you control it all, is that a controller, and what limit switches etc ?.
You got somewhere this project is described in more detail?

I am creating a very similar box with the front of the door being flush with the wall in my screening room. The box will hold my projector, mounted in a closet behind the common wall. I want to use a 135 deg hinge so that the door falls below any portion of the light path. I will position the actuator so that the 8 inch travel drops the door to about 110 degrees.

Chris Horn I am not sure my way is the easiest one, but first with a number of tries I discovered the connection spots dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/8686373/la.jpg (the orange circle shows the movement of connection to the door) and I also created 3d model to check for crashes and design the brackets to print th-cam.com/video/x5sbAwJE-IM/w-d-xo.html .

I'm new to actuators - can you give some basic info? It appears that when power is first applied, the actuator goes to its full limit and stays; then another power signal is sent and it retracts. Is that right? I'm trying to come up with a device that will open a door when it get a signal from a timer, then when the other timer goes off it retracts. What I'm afraid of is that when the power goes off from the first timer, it automatically retracts.

    • @rush.n
      @rush.n  9 ปีที่แล้ว

Falcon Kits When you apply power it retracts and stays there (there are end switched on both ends), you can turn off or keep the power, then all you need is to switch plus and minus and it retracts. I used simple remote to do it th-cam.com/video/z2dKrFoRznA/w-d-xo.html but also relays would work.

Igor - Thanks for sharing ,
I have exactly same plane for opening small door for projector ,
Q - How can i trigger for open closing the actuator by RF?
    Scenario :
I have some RF box which connected to the projector(220V) ,
When i press on Projector On/Off button it sends RF signal to the projector screen for opening / closing it
So i need somehow component that be connected to the actuators and will get the RF signals from the box and it open/close the door.
    Can some1 help?

    • @rush.n

    • @pf5658

Igor Lutsevich - If one have a projector in an enclosure it should ,or most likely have fans for venting whenever the projector is on anyway. So I would not worry about that too much. If one does not have fans to vent their projector, then they have bigger problems to worry about.
