I just bought this bike. I do love it. However, speaking of "issues" nobody mentions the heat coming off the cylinders onto your feet while you ride. It's always there, and very noticeable on hot days? Did you not feel that?

Same thing on all BMWs, the 2nd setting of the handle heating is only there to quickly bring the handles up to temperature. It's not meant to continue using it. After that, you are supposed to switch back to the first setting.

I bought a brand new one in May. No regrets. Engine protection bars (BMW issue) a must.

could you please review the differences between the 2019 and 2020 r1250gsa

The S1000R has more power, but BMW still haven't updated it for 2020. Besides the odd, uneven front headlights, it does not come with a TFT screen. Maybe on the 2021 model? The R1250R is missing LED headlights to be an almost perfect-bike (maybe for the 2021 model as well?).

How is the quickshifter? Same like 1250GS? Is it smoother? I did not like 1250GS quickshifter.

owner of a 2019 r1250r.. use clutch between 1st and 2nd gear (WOT no need for clutch just smack it) .. and be on the throttle while changin up gears makes it smoother.
down however its no problems, hardly any need to use the breaks just use the engine.

Have to agree have to use clutch from 1st to 2nd

    Some inaccuracies here.
Weight is only 527 wet, not 550.
S1000R only has 23hp more than the R1250R, not 75.
They seemed to gain abour 30lbs with the update, as my R1200R clocks in at sub 490

the HP you are correct... i was thinking crank HP on the RR... but the weight... ill double check- but shes thick!

      @@mattymotorcycle1713 R1200R was 490ish wet, new 1250's are +35lbs
My Thruxton R and my R1200R are virtually the same weight. It's perceptional weight by the wide tank.

@@jetrex1986 I don't have a problem with the position. I only use it for charging the battery via my cambus charger. Crash bars? I wouldn't bother with them. Put some decent head protectors on and you're good. Loads available. I have the Wunderlich ones.

The S1000R has 30 more hp, dude, not 70. It also has a f*ckton less torque. And both figures come at a substantially higher rpm, too.
