  • Peter, a retired HVAC and appliance technician shares some of his most memorable experiences during his long career. I ask him about the most highlighted moments he had at work, ranging from the longest work day he ever had to the most ridiculous thing that has ever happened to him. He had some fun stories to share, I hope you enjoy them as much as I did! If you have some wild stories of your own, we would love to hear about them in the comments section!

Back in 1979, I worked 40 hours straight with the power company after a rare October snow.

36 hours consecutive is impressive. I'm in IT and on call and I think my most was about 25 hours, never want to do that again.

I did a home inspection in a car house once. When I walked in the stench was almost overwhelming. Went through the inspection and noticed the client breaking out with red welts on her arms. Come to find out she was allergic to cats. Then it was time to enter the attic. I was hit with an overwhelming smell that backed me out. I had to go back out to my truck and switch out me hepa filters to heavy duty ammonia filters. I did not go very far into the attic when I observed approximately five 2x8 joist bays about 10 feet filled with cat poop. Needless to say that was the end of the inspection. Found out from the realtor later that the client did purchase the property. She had an environmental company remediate the property. Worst smell I ever encountered over the 15 years I did inspections.

Wow! That's a crazy story! Thank you so much for taking the time to share it. As far as cat smells go, I don't think anyone will be able to top this one..

Jay, thanks for sharing your wisdom! I have a thermostat that reads as if the furnace is on but it's not. Changed filter and it worked. 2 days later it does it again. I power cycled the switch outside the furnace then 30-60 seconds it fired up and is running for now. I noticed my new filter was too deformed by airflow to slide it out, restrictive. The first time it happened i cycled the power switch then too but i thought it was a dirty filter. So do you think its an air flow/overheat issue or something electronic/electrical?

Hello 👋 🫂 my number one good buddy 👍 😉 👌 Jay. I really love these longer videos 📹 Peter sure is a smart guy I love to hear you guys talk. I hope all is well with you and your family I'm still going I'm still having a hard time with my back and the sciatica nerve pain down my leg 🦵 oh man it's bad at times I will be glad when I'm better I'm behind on my work I've got a lot of leaves 🍃 to rake up and dispose of..I usually rake up a big pile and I spread out a huge tarp and rake them on and pull them down to the end of my property the woods and dump them off...I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving I went to my brother house and I went to my cousins house. Tell everyone I said hello 👋 🙂 I love you all just like family good buddy.

Aloha David!! Glad to hear that some people actually like the long videos more! All is well here my friend, sorry to hear that you are still having troubles with your back! Back pain is terrible, I do hope and pray you will make a faster than expected recovery! Those leaves are still waiting for you after all.. I used to have a long narrow yard in Minnesota with a forest on either side. I would use a leaf blower to "split" the yard in half and then blow the leaves into either side of the forest. Worked great! We had a great Thanksgiving, got together with my side of the family and some friends on another day. On Thanksgiving day we were praying and thanking God for everything and one of my brothers who had a massive headache decided to thank the Lord for good health and thanked Him for healing his headache. He said that he literally felt his head go numb during this 2 minute prayer (everyone just kind of prayed at the same time) and when the numbness wore off, the headache was completely gone! He told us all right away. Praise the Lord! Jesus is still in the healing business just like He was in the Bible. 😄 Just wanted to share that with you. I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving at your brother's and cousin's house too! Thank you for the love and greetings, sending you love and sunshine from Hawaii!! ☀☀☀
