    Captain, love the attitude, building for kicks and grins. My wife doesn’t understand at times. You ask the right question, not “why?” But “why not!” Every year I try to make something that makes no sense. Last year was converting a John Deere riding mower and turned it into a patriotic wheelie mower, including American Flag, cooler and no reason. The kids loved riding it around. This year I disassembled the wheelie mower to build a crazy train for the grand kids….

    An engineering marvel being made in front of our very own eyes !!! 😁
    My level of expertise ended when you cut the steel to make the angle for the frame, that was about as much as I did way back when I left school and worked for a coachbuilders building truck bodies..... really enjoyed that job, but working outdoors had my name written all over it !!! 🤣
    And a big thank you to Steve for passing on his impact wrench to you !!! 😁🤔👏

    does that dude have the rear frame or even just the rear axle from the ranger? oooo or that ranger front clip installed then figure out how to mount the dif from the subi in the middle (motor mounts maybe?) then see if you can get some scrap 4x4 parts for a ranger front end and hook it all up! 4x4 4 wheel steers awesomeness! WOOO sorry you got my creative juices flowing! cant wait to get a house to ill be able to get some projects like this going!!!

    Mike be careful with that rust. It seems like most of the side by sides have quite a bit of clearance rear wheels. If you bring the frame to close you might have a problem with the 4 wheel steering.🫣🤭😱🛠🦾👍🤪

  • @rons3103
    @rons3103 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Mike, there are so many positives for leaving the frame at that height. (1) Replace the back tires with tracker tires, avoid rolling over those stumps plus plenty of clearance. (2) The bed will be even with the back window, so you can carry some extra long stuff without it hanging off the back of the bed (Push it through the window). (3) Reduce bending over when grabbing stuff out of the bed - chest height! (4) Plenty of room to work under the back side of the vehicle! I can go on and on (not)!
    Remember, I'm sure Henry Ford started out the same way, maybe not with a Subaru! 🤣🤣🤣🤣

    Like the '4 Wheel Steer' idea mad but fun, always have a shut off valve to keep either end from steering like front wheel drive, rear wheel, likewise steer control front or rear. This is off the wall but also how about including in the plan to have a 'winch platform' on the rear end (Side x Side Tow Truck). Again mad but a fun thing. Man I could hide away playing with that project for weeks, months even, Enjoy Mike with the service you provide in the community and the way you are family first rightfully, you also deserve some 'Off the wall Happy Time'. All the best to you and the family including the absent dog, Stay Safe, Stay Well my friend.

    anyone know if this subaru is one of them that needs the center diff welded to be able to drive without the rear connected? I know when you convert some subarus to rwd for drifting, you have to lock the center diff to get the power sent to the rear when you remove the front cv shafts. I have no idea what models or year ranges that need modifications though. Just something to keep in mind if it don't move when all put back together.

    • @CaptainKleeman
