Not at all. In a pyramid scheme, you recruit people to work under you to generate revenue and take a cut of it. In BNI, recruiting people doesn't necessarily gain you anything, there is no financial hierarchy, and you don't get a cut of commission from sales from getting people to join or revenue they generate. It's just people coming together trying to find referrals for each other.
