Always a Cheers package purchaser. It’s literally 1/2 cost of my cruise $990 for 7 days. But I will gladly pay considering not needing to worry about anything and enjoy my vacation. From trying different drinks (not caring about not liking), coffee, countless water bottles and everything else. Less than 20 days away until I’m on the Celebration. Can’t wait! Thanks for the tips.
Thermos idea is solid. Someone on another page suggested that you can sometimes get a bar tender to not open your beer cans. That was going to be my plan for the private island.
I am one of those people that does not drink much in my normal domestic life, but I assume god like, frat-boy drinking tendencies when on vacation. Its cheers package all day for me as the only logical choice. The Martini bar is my favorite, and the most bang for your cheers package buck.

This will be the 1st time my son and I will be purchasing the cheers package - I'm quite sure it WILL NOT BE our last !!! - I only hope down the road further - Carnival could give it some thought to make it where if one person purchase the cheers package that anyone in your cabin who is 21 or older would NOT need to purchase the cheer packages. There are people who has reason(s) who can not drink for example... recovery, mother with child, religion, drinks but would not consume over a certain amount of alcohol etc... I understand you are able to drink unlimited of other drinks with the Cheers Package, BUT my opinion you should be able to then choose, maybe the Bottomless Bubbles and the person who is limited with their alcohol choices ( for what ever reason) would have to purchase their alcohol beverages separately... I understand the concern(s) of SHARING... - Just a thought/opinion - FYI.. because of this policy my daughter is not able to join us on this cruise... :(

We are planning on getting the drink packages but I thought that non alcoholic beverages came off the 15 drinks for the day, didn’t know they are unlimited. I also like your tip about the 14th drink. We always get CHEERS. It's a no-brainer for us. However, we are going on a 16 day Journeys cruise, and I am so torn! 7 or 8 days is one thing, but I can't imagine we will drink every single day for 16 days straight.
I'm with you. I'm convinced to buy the drink package on my first sailing. While I thought about trying to sneak alcohol on board, but the ship is so massive the thought of having to make my way back to the cabin for a drink is just stupid. Right?
15 drink limit is for all passengers regardless of cheers package or not. Check your ticket contract, it's spelled out. Buckets of beer are also supposed to be counted for each beer (5 in your example).
Thanks! Those were just examples bartenders I’d spoken with that actually work for Carnival had told me…however that was pre Covid possibly, so those “Get arounds” may not be possible anymore. I will do some more research as I’ve been meaning to update this video with a new one, so thanks for pointing that out. Although I think you don’t hear about people reaching a15 limit not on Cheers…cause it would be pretty foolish to not buy Cheers getting anywhere close to the limit…but if someone is a new cruiser, they simply might not know any better…So not saying you’re wrong at all and I’m sure there’s been a very small percent that have done it…but if they were to watch my video drinking like that, they’d definitely be saving money by buying the Cheers package lol. We don't usually get the package but we had it on our recent Princess cruise and loved the ease of it. We made sure to get our $ worth. We are going on Mardi Gras in April and got it bc there was a promo rate to include Cheers in our fare, otherwise we wouldn't have gotten it. $800 was too much for drinks for us lol

In aus for the 9 day cruise it’s going to cost $111 a day pre purchased $119 on board. So it’ll be $1998 for the whole cruise but I think we can make it worth it
Coach, great tip on filling up for drinks before heading to the beach. Quick question… Can you just pour one drink into your yeti right in front of the bartender then wait five minutes and repeat.? Didn’t know if this would be looked upon as a No-No.
Most bartenders probably don’t care. I’ve always just grabbed a table off to the side and told them in advance I wanted to order 3 whenever they were able to put it in Sometimes they’ll just keep your card number and charge you the other two after you leave, but you gotta be in good w bartender probably for that

You get a discount for purchasing cheers in advance, then of course the 10% discount from gift cards…. And yes paying for Cheers in advance is best advice…If something happens they’ll simply give you the value of Cheers back in a gift card again
Yes you take number and pin to guest services and they’ll applydirectly…. You can also purchase up to $500 cruise cash if you want prior to boarding with the gift cards

I have been debating whether to get the cheers package because I will probably drink maybe 5-8 drinks per day depending on port days but I will be drinking lots of sodas, gatorades, specialty coffees, tons of bottled water, milkshakes, spiked milkshakes everyday so that is why I am thinking it will be worth it! And also I like the idea if I do t like a drink I order I can just wait a few minutes and I am not paying to order another drink, I can basically test drinks out I normally wouldn’t get.
Nah people do it at the pool all the time…they shouldn’t care, but if so…you’re just trying to keep it cold and don’t want to make extra trips to the bar

Just hit 1500 points in the casino on day one, and you're covered for the rest of the cruise. You'll get comped an inside cabin on the next cruise also. Way more cost effective than buying the cheers package in my opinion
I’m glad that works for you, but as a gambler myself…that’s just free drinks in the casino. I get that every cruise, I choose to pay for Cheers to avoid spending too much of my cruise in the casino…but if that’s the most enjoyable way to get your drinks, absolutely The casino offers are fabulous though for us frequent cruisers, best of luck in the casino

When I went on the Valor back in July they wouldn't let me out-right purchase a bucket of beer or a pitcher of a drink since I had the cheers. Was kinda disappointed.
So I only buy the drink package under certain circumstances. First has to be ahead of time because of the “10%” discount and 2nd only if one of my credit cards has a 15-20% for carnival discount which is normally the case. So I save between 25-30% on the drink package. These are Chase cards by the way. So in the end a 7 day drink package cost about $715 for 2 people. At that price we don’t feel like we have to count drinks to make sure we break even and can truly relax.
Correct. The most I can get back is 3 to 5% cashback depending on the credit card used ....then pick up 10% off using said credit card to purchase the AARP carnival gift cards. I have multiple chase cards and have never seen carnival listed as an offer for extra cash back
@@coachcruise The chase Freedom or freedom flex normally have these offer in the offers section it's not part of the card. I might just get lucky but it's worked for me on my last 4 cruises. I believe the max benefit for those offers was $210.

Given we where likely going to get internet regardless might as well take advantage of the discount. I’m actually checking every day for a similar discount for my upcoming Dec cruise. Unfortunately nothing yet.
I saved $200 on my cruise using AARP gift cards so that’s a great tip. I’ll probably get another $500 one and add it to my sign and sail to cover whatever costs I incur on the ship. This will be my 1st time getting Cheers and I’m looking forward to not having a bill to settle at the end of the cruise! Thank you so much for sharing!
You’re the second person who’s had a problem purchasing while on Cheers, hard to say, maybe it varies ship to ship, or if they just changed the policy. I was actually advised by bartenders of Carnival how to get around the 15 limit thing, but that was at least a year ago.. I’ll have to check next cruise, thanks for the comment

so a note about water bottles, the large bottles only from MDR but most of the bars will give you 20 oz bottles using the cheers package as well now

The Cheers package for an 18 day cruise without the 18% gratuity and the 10% alleged discount online for a couple is $2,158 plus the gratuity.

Man you have good information but way way way too much talking head stuff. You need to do way more cutaways to more interesting stuff than just a talking head. I had to tune out halfway through
