Have you seen the one with the journalist who talks about the boy who killed his foster mother and burned her body? Talk about disconnect. She tells the whole story, and her voice is amazing, but there are moments I have to just skip over.
Love his point with violence not solving violence. However when a group like al nusra, taliban, or IS doesn't want to compromise or show compassion or love, the only answer is defending those who are being attacked without provocation by any means. That kind of thing must be mutual or it never works.

It sounds good to focus one's attention in the present moment, but don't forget that planning for the future is not done by focusing exclusively on the present, nor is reflecting on the past. Some of us spend too much time dwelling in the past or contemplating the future, to be sure, but a complete lack of these practices in our lives would be disastrous. Humans are so capable partly because of our deep capacity for remembering the past and imagining the future. It's not an inherently good or evil capacity; it is simply something that can be used and can also be abused. But not to use it at all is to reduce ourselves back to the state of other animals, and what's the point of that? Get re-absorbed by nature, only to re-emerge again as a possibly more violent species? It's not like life isn't going to find a way, even if we decide it shouldn't be our way. Instead, we should just focus on improving our way, which does not involve negating the essential elements of what it is to be human, but rather tempering them.

Its always hard to know what to expect after death, heaven and hell, etc. The one thing that EVERYONE MUST keep in mind, is that character is DEVELOPED over time, not given. In other words, where we go in the eternities is dependant on the character we are forming, and will form in the future. Heaven DOES have suffering, because God himself is pained when some of his children choose to be evil, or even spiritually "lukewarm", etc., and therefore, not worthy to live in heaven, etc. Same thing with people who will be in heaven, who will suffer because of those who cannot be with them...
I'm glad he touched on US warmongering in Irak. People suffer bc of this politics. Unfortunately the war on terror is not caused by a false perception, it was engineered by men thirsty for power and money. Thank God there is a Day of Judgement when we see these criminals brought in front of the Court of the Almighty.
