Adam can set the X in the Blue Zenith to be 100 or higher to ensure his opponents will lose to the Zenith's resolution, without the need of additional cards. You don't need to have an empty library to lose by milling; if you're forced to draw more cards than you have in your library at once, you also lose.
DarkEinherjar I’m sure Adam did it the way he did it for style points. He let Joseph go all the way to his draw step which I’m sure he could have avoided
in a counterspell war where you're trying to counter a spell you shouldn't ever target the oponnents counterspell with yours, it's just a bad play (except maybe a mana drain that will net him/her a ton of mana)
So amazing to see Baral getting some play on this channel (and a pretty great win)! One question for Adam: have you seen the Polymorph-Tidespout lists, and if so, why do you prefer High Tide/Enter the Infinite? Ever since the Paradox ban there hasn't been a clear preferred combo aside from Dramatic Scepter, and I'd love to get some more input from other Baral players!
I havnt looked into polymorph tidespout. I can check it out though, maybe have it as an alternate set of cards I can put in if I feel like having a different win sometimes
What does Bill think about the Leveller + Thassa's Oracle line for Divergent Kykar rather than Elsha/Spellseeker? I feel the Elsha/Spellseeker line has more potential points of failure.
I might be missing something, but pretty sure (after two pact of negations and a FoW were just used) that Bill at 11:37 could've used that gamble to pull the By Force from his deck and blow up all 4 mana rocks on Joseph and Nates field, causing them to lose via Pact triggers on upkeep. He's got the mana for it, and they are both tapped out and just used 3 out of a total 4 possible free counterspells. Surely thats a better line than spinning top 3 times and drawing an underworld breach?
Wouldn't Nate draw two cards at 6:24? Cast Ponder, Remora triggers. Joseph cannot pay 4, Notion Thief replaces the Remora's draw. Ponder resolves, Joseph looks at his cards, Notion Thief replaces Ponder's draw.
Edit, nevermind. Fish is optional. It's been so long since I'v actually gotten to play a game of MtG I can hardly keep anything straight. Good gameplay as usual.
Can anyone explain why it's optimal to run ElshaTop in a different deck, looking at that line it seems convoluted, why not just run Elsha as the commander?
Just for a chance of pace with a slightly different playstyle. Kykar is the mana reducer part of the Elsha combo and Kykar enables some other unique plays that can't be done with Elsha
Me:"Oh cool another video, I love these" Joseph: *says "sir-sue"* Me:"Alright, time to unsubscribe" (Also I love that the players are Joseph, Nate, Bill, and Sliver Boi)
Hey guys, love the channel and the quality content. Question, what kind of setup do you have to play match’s during quarantine? I’d love to get some games in since my LGS has been closed for months now. Thanks!
As a Circu player myself, I'm moderately disappointed to not see Counterbalance/Lantern pieces in the list (or Bolas's Citadel frankly). That being said, it's always good to see another Circu list in the wild, even if it's not the same.
Starcraftgamer97 i’ve seen shabraz get casted and act as a backup voltron beatstick, but the deck is primarily built around shabraz and its ability, and decks are generally named after their wincons.
Probably it's a basic question, but can't you just cast Blue Sun's Zenith for 100 or more agains an opponent and have them lose since they are unable to draw, instead of having them draw exactly their library and then play another draw card?
@@biggriz2690 But you aren't giving them the chance, you are making them draw more card than they can, which would make you win by default without getting to their turn and using one spell instead of two.
Why doesn’t the Kykar deck run trinket mage instead of the spellseaker? You wouldn’t have to play the enlightened tutor and it goes straight to your hand
man, watching this made me realise I really don't like competitive edh, half the decks revolve around the same win condition and it's so boring to me because once he gets the isochron sceptre that's pretty much it, what's worse is so many of the cards here are completely inaccesible to most people because of the ridiculous prices, basically when i saw the channel "Casually competitive" I thought it would be like, strong budget decks not people playing top end decks casually, guess I'm thinking of competitively casual not casually competitive

Playing out the Reversal with Call to Mind in hand to bait a counterspell was a sweet play. WP all
The sequencing on that final turn. Whooo! That was spectacularly executed.
I'm just glad I had enough mana. I'm notoriously bad a pre counting my mana before I try to go off and sometimes it doesnt go too well for me
Ah the ol' turn 2 Notion Thief

That double pact play was masterful. I always forget that anything on the stack can be targeted by counterspells.

With Baral it's a good play. You get to draw deeper into your deck looking for win cons
Ya'll should put a 'Mana Crypt Trigger Damage' counter somewhere. Those things do more damage to everyone than anything else on the field.
the most powerful card
Doesn't matter.... 99% of the time they die to infinite combos, not damage.
I love how joseph countered the counterspell with his pact of negation instead of Nate's pact of negation so Nate was forced to spend five mana.
Yeah but Nate was a fool, he could have Pacted the Pyroblast instead of Force so that they'd have to counter the pact thus canceling the trigger.
Lol, i love the custom spirit token
The amount of counter spells that happened filled me with joy.

Adam with the big brain plays. I see you, my dude!
I love your channel thank you for these videos
Very sexy gameplay. Loved every second of it keep up the great work guys!

Was the Wheel of Fortune Bill discarded due to Gamble a proxy? I really like the full art and I can't find anyone thats selling it.
where can I get Adam's playmat? so pretty
No green?! Amazing!
Again, Shabraz is denied its name in the video title... and yes, I'm going to bring that up every time the poor shark gets neglected. :P
I personally hate when partner commanders are chosen but only one of them is ever built around. Not just here but anywhere
Starcraftgamer97 i’ve seen shabraz get casted and act as a backup voltron beatstick, but the deck is primarily built around shabraz and its ability, and decks are generally named after their wincons.
Oh, c'mon, at least give Shabraz a spot next to Brallin's name.
First comment woot woot! Love the channel guys, keep up the awesome work
Thanks! Glad you're enjoying the content!
How do use, blues suns, three times um the one turn??
It shuffles back in, then re-draw with a draw spell, cast again and it shuffles back in, etc
@@CasuallyCompetitiveMTG he need of other many spells, with draw in hand... cast 3
José Leandro He had his whole deck in his hand.
Why doesn't Kykar just run Leveler and Oracle? It reduces card quality a bit, but it's very hard to disrupt.

Baral alter!! nice
I wish people play Lavinia in a bit competitive meta 😋
so much Blue 0-o

thank the lords i do not play cEDH, seems very stressfull
Oh so thats why the Baral player didnt counter anythjng.

Why don't you guys play at each other's houses instead?

Notion thief wasn't the game warping card, that would be isochon scepter.
