    Keep up the good work and your honest opinions. Pretty rare to find these days where many niche perfume brands are overhyped. I am, among other things, a perfume/scents lover and I proudly buy all my treasured bottles. There are very few vloggers we can trust these days, in a world where receiving free bootles seems more important than decency. Beautiful perfumes is still a wonderful thing!!

    Great to see such a well balanced review, alot of "It's the best thing ever" out here until the next one & the one after that.
    I've tried 5 from her and tartan was my favourite ,mainly because it just reminded me of a old country Irish pub. So scent memory was strong with that one.

    Oh hello! Thank you so much for the honest review of the collection. Sounds like mostly not to your taste but I would never expect to have the same taste as everyone. Looking forward to the Atlante review even so ⚡️

    Sarah is not only a very lovely lady but also talented artist who is open for new and creative things and that is what I love about her so much. She has extraordinary fragrance line and Jungle Jezebel is out of this world

      Art of course is highly subjective, as is taste, so I am glad you enjoy them so much! The world would be incredibly dull if everyone shared the same view on everything.

    Kudos for picking the Hummingbird honey vibe in Charade.
    I salute you man you are the closest reviewer on TH-cam with typically similar nose to mind.
    That’s why I trust you.

    Buddha wood eo is a really nice material, a leathery woody material, that gets sweeter when drying down (to my nose). I can easily imagine it in an oud accord that does not contain any real oud but still has a natural feeling to it (unlike most oud accords). It's pricy but worth it, even more if you like uncommon materials.

    Thank you for the opinionated breakdown. I'm impressed by how sure your first impressions are. Critical and strong opinions in fragcomm are rare like unicorns nowadays. Keep up the good work!
    ps. The civet was very strong on Jungle Jezebel off my skin.

      Well, I went out this morning and came back.. and walking in to my room, it's filled with perfume from the test strips in the bin.. and something is not good. I threw them in the outside bin, and my room still smells!

      @@FragranceView Very harsh smelling synthetic blends? Unfortunately that was a case for a lot of very harsh smelling indies to me (e.g. Byron Perfumes)

    • @FragranceView
      @FragranceView  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I wouldn't say harsh, but unpleasant.. it lasted a few hours in the corner after removing the bin, I think it was the banana one. As a whole yes, very, synthetic. I don't mind certain synthetics, but some rub me the wrong way, the most commonly used Timbersilk, Ambroxan, Calone, Hedione, Cashmeran, Musks... All so common by indie brands it's almost an abuse of the materials, it's like they don't know how to make perfume unless they use a simple common cheap base, then everything smells the same, and everything is completely unoriginal and bland in the base. They try to make up for it with something as a top note. In most cases the composition style is so simple that it's just an unbalanced soup of synthetic to smell "Woody" with a fresh top note.. Like that hasn't been done before.

    Genuinely love your analogies Peter. Washing powder, urinal cakes, beige wool, banana bubblegum and medicine. lol Seriously though, they really do help me imagine the scent. Of course, I'm sure they all develop considerably on skin over time, but the first impression is always the most captivating.....and entertaining! Btw, we have those banana foamies here in Canada and they're just awful. When you mentioned them, I could almost taste one in my mouth. >> Shudder

    Your honest opinion is always appreciated. I say block the haters! If you could review Atlante on skin, I'd enjoy that, unless you just really dislike it. Thank you.

    This was a great review. Although they were not your taste, you still did a respectful, beautiful, thorough job of describing each one. It gives people a good understanding of what each fragrance smells like (from your perspective).
    If I were Sarah, I would appreciate this review and wouldn't expect everyone to love what I create. I would want honesty only and I would understand that there will be some who love my fragrances and some who do not.
    Well done Peter and keep doing this! :)

  • @gail3633
    @gail3633 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    I always appreciate that while you may not personally like a fragrance, you are respectful in presenting your thoughts and opinion of the fragrances. I wish more reviewers would not be so shy of reviewing this way. I am always curious as to why a fragrance does or does not work for someone and I wish more would share that aspect, even when it is just not to that persons taste. I appreciate the honesty💜

    Hey Peter! Great review, honest as always. I'm intrigued by Jungle Jezebel and will be on the lookout for a sample.
    I'd love for you to review some of the Francesca Bianchi offerings, but I admit - I'm a little frightened, since I love a lot of those. I'm fascinated by her use of orris and animalics, she has a very distinct style. Cheers!

    Co-incidentally I’ve never liked any of Sarah Macartney’s fragrances enough to purchase a full bottle. Having said that I liked the notes breakdown of Atlante. I wouldn’t mind your more detailed review on that one.
    I liked the flash displays of brief info about the fragrances. Great first impressions video👍.

    • @FragranceView
      @FragranceView  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Only way to know is to be familiar with the raw materials in this case, you need to own at least a basic collection of the most commonly used synthetics, to be able to recognise them

    Hi, can you tell me more informations about The use of glycerin in perfumery, and The component called exaltolide? What they do in the fragrances? Thanks!

    • @FragranceView
      @FragranceView  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      exaltolide is a type of synthetic musk, there's many many musk notes.. nothing particular special about that one, it's just one of many. - No idea about glycerin in perfumery on it's own, apart from sometimes a material can be diluted in DPG for example, it's just a thick odourless substance, so some believe that it helps make a perfume last longer, since it creates a stickier / thicker base on the skin.
