Nice to meet you Grayce. We used to have a dairy farm in Logansport. Instead of the half tracks go all the way to a tank, I’ve drive tracked dozers

7140 is my all-time favorite to run! Pulled a field cultivator, 7-bottom land plow, and a chisel with it and loved that tractor. It was a beast.
Mine too. We bought 2 of them brand new and they pulled 8 bottom plows and also pulled chisel plows, one trippers, 4 row potato combines and many other implements. They were worked hard and never have given us any issues other than rebuilding the transmissions and engines when we wore them completely out.

Love them old 7000 series Case IH tractors!!..tough as nails!!..I ran a 7120 for a road building company pulling a disc drying dirt so we could pack it for road top!...I owned a late model Case IH 2096 ...decent tractor but not even close to that 7140 you have...those 2096’s were the David Brown division of Case when they bought them out back in the day...they weren’t near the tractor of the 5000/7000 series were but a lot of farmers still run them in Alberta and the older versions like the Case 1070’s...anyway keep that oil clean and those engines will run forever...oil is cheaper than main bearings and cams...those big tractors pull hard and for long periods of time so the oil is important to keep clean!!..keep it up young lady!!

Grayce you’ve motivated me to change the transmission fluid out of my sealed transmission.
WOW, love the paint job on the 3088. The 71, 72, and 8900 series Case IH tractors were probably the best machines ever built. Never had a chance to get one. When I traded I went right to the MX series, a 220, it had issues but still was a good tractor. Still have a 5088 series, it still runs at close to 11000 hours... I like your taste in equipment....
They are good ones but so aren't the 4020,4320,4430, 4440 and 7820 JD's
@@davehughesfarm7983 My dad had a 4020, that was an awesome machine and very, very reliable. He had that tractor for over 20 years and it always ran. When he traded it he got same price as what he paid for it.

Grayce, you got your 7140 looking clean, and that 3088 at the end is absolutely gorgeous.... Your sandwich looks good, I would of recommend a ribeye sandwich, and a platter of haystack onion rings.....

Always nice to have a farm dog helping you do your work, and I don't know how you do it, but I wouldn't have been able to even drive the tractor over to change the oil without having my white shirt completely dirty!! Good video, thanks for posting!

I seen that 3088 to at red power its nice! The 5488 did it have carpet on the floors seen that one to. Good vid vid 👍 that was 6+ years ago to.

I have to say you done an excellent job on oil change didn't spill or get any on you me on the other hand I can open the gap in the pasture field get cow manure on me some people just can't help to get dirty

My name is Bruce and I grew up on a wheat farm in Idaho...All of our tractors were John Deere and l even bleed green...I have even restored and show several old John Deere hand start two cyclender models...l do have to tell you something, you can even make those red tractors look great....Your channel is very entertaining, keep up the good work...

Good thing you put oil on the oil-filter gasket, I have seen people put the oil-filter on with a dry gasket, I use Mobil-1 extended performance oil in all my cars and power equipment... Most from Pennsylvania

I don't usually struggle with the drain plug myself. It's usually the filter that gets mysteriously tightened beyond all rational sense! You should see some of the ones I've destroyed removing them. It's a mystery I'll likely never solve. Nice job pre-filling the filter and oiling the gasket. That's something most people overlook. Nice to see you back. Hope you're doing well. Stay safe Grayce.
I had a new Kubota , they put that filter on so tight only my giant channel locks finally got it off ! , and I was a equipment mechanic for 25 yrs

Some guys in my antique club went and they had a ball. Yes by all means put the oil back in. Bad things happen when you don't. Just ask my neighbor. He had a small Deere garden tractor he was changing the oil in. He had drained the old and replaced the plug but was distracted by his wife after she came home complaining about something. They got into a bit of a squabble and he forgot all about the oil. Cranked the tractor and locked the engine down. At least that is what the mechanic said at the dealership. That little argument cost him a new engine. Moral of the story is don't get distracted when you are changing oil...
Always take the key out and put it somewhere maybe even with the oil so that it doesn't happen again

We used so much oil we would buy it in 55Gals drums? The last tractor I drove was 4850 MFWD that pulled a27' I/H disk it had a chrome pipe & it was hot!

Wise to walk away and let the oil drain till it drips no more. Oil plug on a semi needs to be torqued to spec. Freightliner will leak if over tight. I learned it's coming off again so never over tight. Smart to double check after run a little while for leaks. Oil is cheaper than parts
