Made your mantelpiece & it came out beautifully. Think I’ll try this one as well. Thanks for your inspiration and explaining how to make it in the software
Hey... wow... thanks for that! The mantel piece is one of my favs! Simple, easy to cut and looks really nice (I have yet to smuggle the version I cut out of the labs for my home... :) )
Very nice project. I would make one change and use a different method to secure the acrylic to the wood. I could not stop staring at the glue in the finished project! Maybe some small decorative screws or pins of some type.
You are exactly right. I was not happy with that either and screws would have been much better. Also if I had used a dark stain it may have been hidden better. All for you all to try if you choose to make one... I highly recommend you make a better version and blow my Christmas socks off!!!
Great project, but I have a question: In your file, the acrylic pocket is .116" deep. The Maze profile starts at .125" and cuts .1875". Why is the starting depth of the maze profile started below the level of the pocket? Is this related to the roundness of the bit used?
Hey David, good question, and well done for you checking the tooling. I wish I had a good reason for you, but I hope this will due :) . When I create these, I may not have the actual materials I plan to cut into on hand. So I will guess thicknesses and update the file when I have access to the materials I plan to use. I suspect I thought the Acrylic would be thicker than the real stuff, and when I went to fix the pocket did not reflect that in the maze tooling. Luckily it was only off by a little bit, so nothing wrong happened, and to be fair, I did not even notice what it was cutting. You're keeping me honest here, and this is an excellent example of always checking our tooling to make sure you are happy so you can understand what will happen when the file is cutting!
Hey Jim... that was not one of our projects... LOL. You are not the first one to ask about that... maybe it will be for next year... ;) Happy Christmas! 🎅
Hi there, unfortunately we only produce projects in the current versions of the software. You could have a look at Todd's previous years project of the Christmas Tree Marble Maze instead which is compatible in V10.5 Aspire, you can find it here: www.vectric.com/vectric-community/free-projects/in-the-labs/ChristmasTreeMarbleMaze
------------------------------- Hello, and thanks for the comment. I am glad I got you thinking. Unfortunately, Google translate mentioned the word "pancake" when I try to understand the question. Can you try again with your question so I can get you a good answer? Thanks.

Great Idea, this might be my project for today. Thanks, Todd.
Where did the star with the mountain scene come from? I missed that one.

Olá, sou do Brasil e amei seu vídeo. Parabéns. Teria como você disponibilizar o arquivo na versão do aspire 10.5, é a versão que tenho.

Следы от клея остались. Очень неэкономное использование материала!

Very nice, but please set a good example by less wasteful layouts on your materials.
Thanks Don! It was a fun one to make!
