Jisoo said somewhere that all the girls had input to this awful track and the album as well. Still makes me wonder if them shilling for overpriced crap has affected their sense of reality. I only got about half way through and had to stop it. I waited for this and I am totally disappointed. I HOPE the album has other new material that is much much better, but not holding my breath.
Ngl I was pretty impressed with the teaser and Jisoo was looking like fking queen playing whatever that cool instrument was. But when I heard the song for the first time and first line was "kicking the door, waving the coco"... and I was like "damn it's again that typically blackpink, the lyrics literally make no sense" and when I finished the mv all I could do is feeling bad about blinks and the girls cuz they deserve better that this after waiting for ages for new music. There are old fans that are extremely positive and there are new reviewers that are so impressed they are watching the entire Blackpink catalog. There are fans from the US, France, the UK, Korea, China, Australia, Thailand. They are all excited and looking forward to the album and the concert. Very few of them are as harsh as the comments reflected on this site and it restored my faith in the goodness in people.

Honestly, This comeback is just disappointing counting in the fact they had two years time to indulge in creativity. There is too many cuts in the video and constant repetition of gibberish lyrics such as 'taste that pink venom', 'ah ah ah', 'ratatataratattata" "Tratatatta' and 'woah woah woah' and not mention they even sampled pon de replay by Rihanna. I am going to be very honest, THE CHORUS SUCKS. I expected the chorus to be more upbeat, the rap's melody was great but they could have chose better words to rap with (especially lisa's part), the song kinda has the same pitch as their classic old bp songs and the layout is also same. The only thing different was the intro (which I actually liked) and the chorus that suddenly dropped 😬 which made the song 10x worse and they used the explosion thing again in the choreography. I was expecting a lot more because YG said this was "oNe Of ThE MoSt ExPEnSive BlAcKPinK cOMeBaCkS" from the sets I literally saw nothing different compared to before. It is literally the same set up, aesthetic and similar dance choreo. I liked the styling it was bomb ngl. Honestly, the highest i can give this comeback is a 4/10 which is pretty low for blackpink as they are allegedly "top kpop girl group". I just wish the song had an objective. It sounded like something anyone could make if they wanted to. Every artist has their own taste and unique style, in which they portray that into their songs; but this one felt random. I will say that when Rosé was playing the guitar, it made no sense because obviously this song had no alternative/rock vibe to it. It felt very random. You should cover how Lisa's first verse is almost identical to Rihanna's debut hit, 'Pon De Replay'. Identical melody, just slowed down and in a lower key. The phrase "One by one, then two by two" is directly taken from 'Pon De Replay'. 2 years of waiting and we get a plagiarized song. 😭😬 Teddy screwed up big time.

I agree with you 100% about Pink Venom...the song is bad in sooo many levels, I have so high expectations about this comeback and it disappoint me. The song repeats the same formula over and over again, is not new (probably the beat) but the structure of the song is the same as the past once. And is frustrating to wait so long for something so mediocre, I mean, fans are so hungry for BP and YG instead of giving some proper meals, they give some leftovers...and blinks don't have another choice then just accept it because is the only thing they got. Is really a shame that they expect so much to get so little and the only thing they can do instead of ask for some quality is just accept this "work". I hope the next one is not as disappointing as this one, still not having high expectations. Rather expect nothing than make some kind of illusion that probably in the end it could be the same as Pink Venom.

I think not only the song, the formula of the MV is also Stück at the same concept, bcs If l watch the Rose first part remembering of her part in hylt which is mostly the frame is full of her face, and the othera too like Jennie with big vehicle and she walk to the cam, and the other member do the same doing nothing just singing and posing, l also notice they always do the individual shots for each member and put them together at the croush or at the end of the video. At this point yg entertainment needs to let the girls write and compose their music instead of letting teddy do everything the girls have said they wanted to write and be involved in the process but yg entertainment has a system of letting a certain producer do all the work and we get recycled music 😐
I would love to see them do an actual concept with an actual storyline with one or two sets, one or two outfits and actually good choreo and NO dance breaks at the end of every song. No repetitive choruses, no try hard movements. “You can never have too much” is a lie when it’s all a mess. I was super confused when I heard Pink Venom, because it really didn’t sound like one of their songs and I can’t really describe why other than the chorus was dead as hell? Pink venom it's ok... but there is something clearly missing I just can't put my finger on it and I wish there was a stronger choreography on the beat drop part and their tones in the chorus were whisperish and dark like Jennie's blackpink in your area tone from boombayah. I’m glad I’m not the only one who was disappointed by this come back. I feel guilty for not liking it but after listening to pink venom numerous times I just could NOT get myself to like it. It’s okay to be a fan of BP and to not be in love with every single song and album that comes out. just a reminder, pink venom is prerealise single, not the title track of the album (i believe they intend to add this song in the next album later as bside track) it's pretty common in kpop that the prerealise single to be more "common" or "uncatchy" than the album's title track, bc ofc u don't want ur bside track to outshine the title track right?? for example like seventeen, using darl+ing as prerealise single and then using hot as their title track of the album, which if u heard both of them u will know why one is just a single and another is the title track..

Couldn't have said this any better, i don't listen to BP, but i honestly feel bad for their fans. the only part i like, sort of, is that few second instrumental at the beginning of the song, and then the rest is like.... as if you told a little kid to make a song without them knowing how to do so, it just is terrible. but the Jisoo girl, i think that's her name, her vocals were the only good part of the song other than the one i mentioned above. many BP fans may think you are being toxic, but you are literally just telling your honest opinion and i respect that so i hope others do too. Treasure have different producers and write some of their b-sides. The fact that Darari was written and produced by Yedam and was more popular than Jikjin means that YG needs to let the boys write their own music. Especially because they have 5 producers in the group already (Yedam, Junkyu, Hyunsuk, Asahi, and Haruto).

did u know american pop songs of female singers in 2009, 2010 and 2011, the chorus were like this for example fancy by charlie xx but they weren’t hated as much as pink venom is. I know the chorus was too basic for a comeback after a very long time of like 2 years. I completely agree with that. however the pre-chorus was not bad. it had one of the best lyrics that blackpink songs have ever had. the instrumental doesn’t suit it as perfectly as it should have been but that’s all

Jisoo said somewhere that all the girls had input to this awful track and the album as well. Still makes me wonder if them shilling for overpriced crap has affected their sense of reality. I only got about half way through and had to stop it. I waited for this and I am totally disappointed. I HOPE the album has other new material that is much much better, but not holding my breath.
Ngl I was pretty impressed with the teaser and Jisoo was looking like fking queen playing whatever that cool instrument was. But when I heard the song for the first time and first line was "kicking the door, waving the coco"... and I was like "damn it's again that typically blackpink, the lyrics literally make no sense" and when I finished the mv all I could do is feeling bad about blinks and the girls cuz they deserve better that this after waiting for ages for new music. There are old fans that are extremely positive and there are new reviewers that are so impressed they are watching the entire Blackpink catalog. There are fans from the US, France, the UK, Korea, China, Australia, Thailand. They are all excited and looking forward to the album and the concert. Very few of them are as harsh as the comments reflected on this site and it restored my faith in the goodness in people.

Honestly, This comeback is just disappointing counting in the fact they had two years time to indulge in creativity. There is too many cuts in the video and constant repetition of gibberish lyrics such as 'taste that pink venom', 'ah ah ah', 'ratatataratattata" "Tratatatta' and 'woah woah woah' and not mention they even sampled pon de replay by Rihanna. I am going to be very honest, THE CHORUS SUCKS. I expected the chorus to be more upbeat, the rap's melody was great but they could have chose better words to rap with (especially lisa's part), the song kinda has the same pitch as their classic old bp songs and the layout is also same. The only thing different was the intro (which I actually liked) and the chorus that suddenly dropped 😬 which made the song 10x worse and they used the explosion thing again in the choreography. I was expecting a lot more because YG said this was "oNe Of ThE MoSt ExPEnSive BlAcKPinK cOMeBaCkS" from the sets I literally saw nothing different compared to before. It is literally the same set up, aesthetic and similar dance choreo. I liked the styling it was bomb ngl. Honestly, the highest i can give this comeback is a 4/10 which is pretty low for blackpink as they are allegedly "top kpop girl group". And is frustrating to wait so long for something so mediocre, I mean, fans are so hungry for BP and YG instead of giving some proper meals, they give some leftovers...and blinks don't have another choice then just accept it because is the only thing they got. Is really a shame that they expect so much to get so little and the only thing they can do instead of ask for some quality is just accept this "work". I hope the next one is not as disappointing as this one, still not having high expectations. but they weren’t hated as much as pink venom is. I know the chorus was too basic for a comeback after a very long time of like 2 years. I completely agree with that. however the pre-chorus was not bad. it had one of the best lyrics that blackpink songs have ever had. the instrumental doesn’t suit it as perfectly as it should have been but that’s all
honestly the song grew on me but i never listen to it ever and it was still absolutely terrible when you take the fact we waited 2 years into consideration.
