Koh Chang Thailand - most incredible island on the planet?

- Koh Chang Thailand is an island located in the gulf of Thailand about six hours south of Bangkok / Pattaya. Koh Chang is comprised of rain forests, waterfalls, remote beaches and is home to wild monkeys. The island also has several elephant camps where for a small fee, you can spend a little time with these wonderfull animals.
We took a private car from Pattaya down to Koh Chang and spent five days exploring the island. This was our fourth trip to Koh Chang and once again, it did not disappoint.
This trip we decided to spoil ourselves a bit by booking a villa at THE DEWA KOH CHANG on Klong Prao Beach. It did not disappoint and I have to say, I think it is one of the nicest resorts on Koh Chang. On previous trips we've stayed at 15 Palms on White Sand Beach ( also fantastic ) and we've done a few budget trips where we stayed at backpacker inns on Lonely Beach - also fun.
This trip was in the middle of August, absolutely the low of low season so we had Koh Chang pretty much to ourselves. A few of the restaurants and bars were closed for the season but that didn't slow us down. The trade off was not having to deal with any crowds at the waterfalls or other attractions.
As for nightlife.. yes, yes and yes. We have video posted from last year over on our Pro sight which discusses the nightlife on Koh Chang at length..

I think this is the only Thai video of yours that makes me want to visit. Big cities with beaches and bars....meh. Smaller with less hustle and bustle - and with some nightlife bars - definitely!
Fantastic work & glad you & gf enjoyed KCHANG…also my fave island. Like you said it’s got it all…beaches..mountains..waterfalls..great views. I stayed same as you on Klong Phrao beach at the Centara resort & explored by mbike…be careful,on those twisty roads!! Great to see you found the Beach Cafe at Klong Kloi beach…enjoyed chilling there too!! 😉😎🏝️🙏🏼👍🏻

Taking things from tourists & jumping around. I can't do monkeys! I'm glad Londa is enjoying herself with her daughter. What an adventure!! That beach & restaurant was really nice and even better w/o the crowds. 😊

There is a rather large and growing group of us over here in Thailand. All former DR expats. Lot's of folks shifting down to Colombia also. The math isn't hard on this one.

Feeding elephants in captivity is a big no-go. Thumbs down for cruelty to animals. Very bad role model for your children.

Do NOT feed the elephants. They are abused from young age and are suffering their whole life. Stop visiting such places and the need for this will disappear. Instead visit elephants sanctuaries.
