My in-laws live in Golden Valley 5 minutes from Kingman. We've been all around Kingman. Love the antique shops on Beale Street and a Mexican restaurant that looks out at the trains
As an Arizona native and the older I get, I’m not digging these summertime temps anymore. For a cooler summer climate and beautiful scenery, take a trip to Creede Colorado, you won’t be disappointed. Safe travels Russ!
Railroad Museums are always fun to visit. I still have an electric train my parents gave me when I was 12 (I'm 70 now). Marx brand with a Santa Fe diesel-electric locomotive. One place you should seriously comtemplate exploring is Mount Charleston, north of Las Vegas. From Kingman you drive up US Rte 93 towards Henderson, merge on the new I-515 and continue past Las Vegas on US Rte 95 until you reach Route 156, on the left. There are numerous campgrounds at different altitudes on the mountain (Mt Charleston peaks at nearly 12 000 feet). In July, Las Vegas roasts through a temperature of 115 degrees F but it's only 85 F up Mt Charleston. Pines, cool weather, magnificent views, everything to make you happy. Stay safe, Russ ! RICHARD
Good talking with you online last night. Yes the 107 is great to have when you get hassled flying a drone. By the way, you are taking your fans to places we otherwise would never get to see. Thanks!
The problem with AMTRAK out of Kingman is that to say go to Los Angeles or San Diego, you leave around 1:00AM! Outdoor depot area in Kingman is kind of tough that way.
Hi Russ, I was at Quartzsite in the big tent when you were there and I'm going back to the Railroad Museum and Kingman. Lake Havasu and Creed, CO as well this summer. My friend and I love your videos and commentary. Thanks for all your effort and excellent production values. Highly appreciated by me, my friends, and most everyone else who watches them, I'm sure.
I always laughed at people that would fall in love with a town they hardly spent time in on a vaction... till it happened to me. Left vegas and stayed on kingman on a quick over night trip and absolutely fell in love with the area. I started researching it and that's how I found your page actually. Your videos have only added to my love of that area, so.well done sir . I'm looking forward to some dusty nuggets adventures soon too!
VERY COOL places to visit. Love all the history. My son is a conductor in Wyoming so all the railroad museum collection items are very interesting. Thank You for visiting there.
Restaurant ideas: Pizza at Floyd's on Beale, El Palacio Mexican on 66/Andy Devine, and sometimes, Mr. D's also on Andy Devine/66. For breakfast: Grandpa's Kitchen (has a good special) on Northern and the Airport Cafe (at the Kingman airport which is cargo and private planes). I have never been to either museum so that is on the list. The newer area of town is on the strip of Stockton Hill Rd. Groceries, Walmart, hardware, Home Depot and car dealers, small businesses, and some restaurants/fast food.
Hi Russ! I’ve been to Kingman a gazillion times during my 38 years of trucking but all I ever got to see was the TA TRAVEL CENTER and bobtailing to Laughlin on a weekend layover when I was there. I had no idea Kingman had so much to offer! I especially loved the ride from Phoenix north to I-40 just east of Kingman…I was traveling SH 93/Sh 60 when the state first started changing from two-lane highway to four-lane on that route. Beautiful ride! Hope to see it again before I die…that is if I ever get my settlement finalized! Thanks for taking us along! Stay safe and happy traveling! ~Jim in Houston,Tx~
Very delightful the train mural on the water tower was exquisite! Cool 🚂 In 2021 we took the Amtrak from Chicago to Grand Junction Colorado. Got to see the Rockies up close at 5 miles an hour!
Great videos Russ, watching them makes me homesick for Arizona. I lived in Mesa for 10 years but had to move to Colorado for work. I sure miss it. Keep up the great work you do. Be safe. Donski in Denver.
Love your videos. I especially like your drone footage. You do the best job showing the area via drone. I think you do it better than the other you-tubers I watch. Great job.
🙋Hello Russ! Enjoyed seeing Kingman. Wonderful Train Museum! Just love the miniature trains. Takes me back to my childhood when Dad use to set up our train set. Love it! The best $2.00 a big kid could ever spend! 👍
Love Kingman. So many crazy stories and memories. Cool 😎 place. I have an idea...maybe you could shoot a few episodes traveling by train. How fun. Call it "Russ of the Rails".... Very cool video. Any Dusty Nugget trips up that mountain trail soon??? Safe travels!!!
From the time on one of the hotels you were driving past, you were filming this at the exact time and I was having my 1st cup of coffee on my Bday...Two more years and i can get my senior parks pass. I was just 40 the other day :-)
Your videos are truly enjoyable. Thanks for taking us along. I've been to AZ twice many years ago and drove on Route 66. Glad to see there are many towns that kept their charm and haven't been overdeveloped with rows of townhouses.
A very pleasant video 📹 ! Not only the video, but the music , and the way you fade it in and out with the natural road sounds 👌 . Thanks 😊! A trip on the AmTrac would be interesting also .
When my daughters were little we took Amtrak from San Jose CA to CT. Since then I’ve taken it a couple times cross the US. Always got the delux sleepers with the private bath. Very expensive and had to make reservations about a year in advance. Those sleepers are hard to get. I’m not a flyer, so I’m so glad train travel is available.
We are taking a Route 66 trip this summer. Your videos make me wish we were already on it! 🙂 We have been to the Route 66 museum in Kingman we loved it!
Thanks Russ for the drive & Kingman railroad museum. Love them both. Sure does bring back childhood memories. My dad built the Santa Fe railroad for us kids back in the early 50s.
Russ cool video. If you want to take an Amtrack train you might want to look into the California Zephyr it goes from Chicago to Emeryville cost for a roomette runs 700-1000 meals and non-alcoholic beverages. it's the most scenic Amtrack route. You can go coach for cheaper but you have to pay for your meals. There is a youtuber, youtuuba that covers all the Amtrack routes.
Hey Russ, There's a model train setup like that in Deadwood, S.D. My brother and I were up there last month and the business that houses it was shuttered, Sure hope someone reopens it.
Mesmerizing video. How can we see these places from the armchair comfort? It's Russ as always. Have A Great Time Always. Hearty Greetings from Hyderabad, India 🇮🇳
You're killing me Smalls another great video Russ if you're ever in Tacoma Washington we have a big museum with lots of trains in it to sometimes they even have a train show in the whole museum is Scott trains everywhere thanks again travel safe
Hey Russ, love your videos. When you turned up 4th St. I saw the historic Kingman Masonic Lodge on the right. If you ever want to do a video tour I can give it for you.
They have the first old jail and the second one, right by the court house.. they have built a new jail, looks more like a prison. Around 7 years ago? I go and visit, from time to time. Spent many years in Kingman.
Wow, you're almost to 91K subs!!!! Congrats.🎉🎉 That was a nice ride through the old city. Lots of nice old buildings. Great mural. Loved the drone footage. Always love the old train stations. Those model trains set ups are so neat. So many hours spent making them just right. Thanks for taking us along. 🙂👍
Re: Route 66. Use root if referring to the road -a noun. Use route if you are going to use it as a verb, as in to re-route the vehicle a different way.
Oh? Did they finally reopen the old museum? It got closed down during the pandemic. And yeah, it's still an active depot. The problem is, the passenger trains come at night, or early in the morning, so you almost never get to see them.
All i have to say is you need to show the camping spots way better you do not do a good job at that u pull up say oh ya its cool and then thats it and show more tent camping to plz by water for us tent campers man
Hey Hey It's RVerTV Russ, Taking us to Kingman Today. TO COOL FOR SCHOOL. 👍

Hey Russ!!! "THE BEAST" is "KEEPING" up with "THE TRAIN"!!! BE safe!!!

It's day all day, in the daytime, and there is no night in Creede.
Be right over . .

Just down the street from the Museum is Mr D'z Route 66 Diner, a great stop.

Yes, The Southwest Chief stops there from Chicago to Los Angeles. I’m pretty sure it’s unmanned, meaning you can’t purchase tickets there.
The Amtrak train from Los Angeles stops at that station at 1AM
Mesmerizing video. How can we see these places from the armchair comfort? It's Russ as always. Have A Great Time Always. Hearty Greetings from Hyderabad, India 🇮🇳
It's really hot and humid here in New Mexico I heard a few drops late last night but it didn't last very long just a couple minutes
