We've Never Done THIS Before

  • We got a call from someone that said there Toyota was floating away down the Green River. They weren't sure if or when it would stop and they need help. So we quickly loaded up with Ol Blue and the LJ, we grabbed the jetski not knowing if we would have to go downstream aways to even find the vehicle. We were about halfway there when the customer called back and said it was just around the corner and had stopped. When we got there we scouted out a place to get the wrecker to. Then Mike and I took the jeski out to get winch extensions hooked up. Unfortunately the battery died on the jetski, so that was a wasted effort. We couldn't get hooked up to the frame or a wheel. So we went through the windows and around the windshield frame. We started winching and it came off the rock it had got stuck on so that was good. We winched it up steam u til we had enough extensions to reach it from the boat ramp/beach. Then we pulled it with the jeep. I apologize for the batteries dying on the Gopros but it was difficult to swim back, get a battery and swim back out. So is what it is. Once we had it back on dry ground we pulled it up to level ground with Ol Blue. Then we picked it up and hauled it out to the highway. This one was crazy and done with urgency. Thank you everyone for watching and supporting us.

I did a bunch of years of ocean and swift water rescue/recovery work. Doesn’t look like much to some people, but this was the 1st off-road rescue from you or any one else that ever made me pucker up a certain part of my anatomy. Cars in rivers are especially dangerous with the risk of getting suctioned underneath. Great work moving slowly and communicating.

I love how you say to Mike to go straight to the shore. Having grown up in strong currents I knew where that was headed. I am guessing he hit shore 40-50 feet back from the car. But amazed at how you guys just jump right in, from the highest sketchiest places to the water of the river.

I love how he said, "take it straight to the bank." Call Trailmater for a recovery- you can take it straight to the bank.

I watch every video and have the utmost respect for you guys but some of the spots you put yourselves in during this rescue were a lot more dangerous than I think was obvious. I learned a ton about river hazards and how to move safely in moving water at a 2 day swiftwater safety class for rafters and kayakers, I’d recommend looking up who offers those in your area and taking one if you can. Unfortunately, moving water is really unforgiving and a lot of people drown every year from hazards they didn’t know existed. Anyway thanks for wearing PFDs and getting that truck out of the river, and for entertaining us.
