How did this affect the weight balance? Any issues with it? Im looking to move my motor back a few inches for the same reason but I didnt think I'd need a 7" setback but yours looks good.
Hey thanks for watching! I haven't had any trouble with mine so far. I do have 2 12v batteries behind the front seat so that helps when I'm using the outboard solo. Vance does make a 5" version and I'll attach the link for you, this one is up to 20hp www.vancemfg.com/5inch-setback-mini-jack-plate-p/jpl2410sb.htm
Hey I know this thread is 2 yrs old , but I'm from south east ga to and I'm redoing my jon boat as we speak , and running into same problem with the motor to close to seat , how do you like that offset bracket? You still ok with it ?
Could you post the measurements of the bolt holes? Like how far apart they are horizontally and vertically. I'm trying to determine if they'll at least come close to my existing holes...thanks!
Do you have any advice on where I can find T-slot bolts for accessories like rod holder , (mainly)Bimini top brackets, etc, I haven’t had any luck , I even called Duracraft....thanks for any help.
@@ericrhinehart5434 I dont think mine is a T slot. Swivl-eze make a sliding seat bracket. My slot is kinda like what the actual seat bracket would fit into. If that make sense
It has ran great for me. No problems yet! I had all intentions of making more fishing videos after this.. I even had unedited footage with some nice Redbreast fishing. Just got busy doing some side work and never did. Thanks for the comment and I'll be back at in the spring with more content.
Thanks for them internet videos you make Billy Bob, really be helping us water folks
Installed a 75 Merc on my 14ft Mon Ark. Had to do the same, except i used a set back with riser for South Carolina swamp's
Will you run the motor with the breakaway open also or since it’s on a kick plate will you keep it latched? Thanks

@@slab4x477 Good to hear, thanks for reply! I'm trying out a 2.5" setback to start, going to see where that gets me.
I just bought the same jack plate you got. Instead of installing the transom support brackets horizontally, I wonder if I can install them vertically?
Nice! I dont see why you couldn't, it should work. Thanks for watching!
Does the motor get in the way in adjusting the bracket up or down?
Yeah some.. smaller engines I'd recommend unclamping to adjust. Its possible to do it while clamped on.

I’m having a problem with water coming in the boat Bc of the motor, would a jack plate help? It won’t get on plain right now
Yes, you need to lift motor 5 inches with a jack plate and you’ll be good to go
Yes, you need to lift it some. I highly recommend Vance
Where did you find those transom support brackets?
I went to my local Lowe's and got some flat aluminum and made them. Thanks for watching!

I wish I did.. I haven't been able to find any either. It would be nice to be able to actually my rails
Easy, go on any site that sells t-slot bolts for machinists, etc. in fact amazon will sell them ...in many cases regular bolts can be used also.

How’s it run on the river can you get in shallower water?

Is that the 1 inch clamping board on there? Hows it hold up?
It's one that I made out of synthetic deck board material. Haven't had any trouble with it yet.
@@slab4x477 Gotcha, the one from VM is the same material I was curious. Getting the 5"setback for my merc 9.9 2 stroke.
did you gain any speed being able to raise it up?
Buenas que tal, y mejoro el rendimiento el motor, cuanto?
Do you have a link to that jack plate

Never seen goldplated nuts like that before😍🤔
They came with the plate from Vance. They are locking nuts
Skeet a big rooster down the gechee river Yee Yee!!!
She's ready!
Would have been easier to move the seat over to the right a bit .
Yep, but I have been in boats like that and do not like off centered seats.
@@slab4x477 I turn sideways when driving anyway and out my feet on the rail .
More leg room.
Should had changed that wood on your transom before you put that jack plate on kill two birds with one stone🤠
