    Agree on all of your observations. I use it with a zoom f6 and it, small, light, sturdy and functional. The zipper do make noise but it is an easy fix.

      Yes. I’m going to be revisiting my zipper solution soon. I’ve even been in contact with Orca about it. But it really is a great bag. Thanks for watching!

    I own the OR-270 and the Stingray. And for my MixPre-3M I use ... (drum roll) ...
    The Zoom PCF-8.
    The Stingray holds my Zoom F8, and the Orca holds ... thin air.

      Haha. Well everyone has their preferred way of packing these babies. I also reviewed the OR-280 on my channel and I like that one way better for larger projects.
      I’m a big fan of Orca and I think I’ll always be. Thanks for watching!

    all orca bags need to be a little wider. I hate it. The side door can't be closed with regular XLR connectors. Hense it's not really protected as a simple drop can be devastating for the connection.

      That’s a fair point. I know a lot of recordists who use right angle XLR connectors. But you should email Orca and tell them. They try to listen to what the people they’re selling to want.

    I noticed the zipper noise when I first opened the shipping box 😢
    But, a little self amalgamated tape on each one gives flexibility and noise free. As for battery life with the default sled, waste of time, so I got the MX-Mount battery sled, a bit expensive and only allows ONE lithium battery as the bag is too small for two batteries. Apart from that I like it. It’s not too bad getting access to the SD card when it’s in the bag, a little fiddly but doable. Not that I do that much as I now have a USB drive I simply plug into the MixPre now for file downloading.

    • @TheRecordist
      @TheRecordist  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes! I will be getting that tape and fixing my bag up. Thanks for the awesome suggestion!
      And I do the exact same with the USB drive. I used to do it a different way: I would keep a USB-C chord always attached to my iMac and just plug in the USB-C cable. Then file transfer that way. But the USB thumb drive is tops!

      @@TheRecordist cut the tape down the centre so it’s half as wide before applying 😉 and it’s 3:52 am here ha!

      Thanks for the info regarding the number of lithium batteries the bag can hold. Very useful as I want to use two batteries at once on an MX sled.

      @@UltrafiAV I’m not sure of the capacity of the lithium cells I’ve got, they are in my workshop, so not sure if they come in different thicknesses for these. I’ll check and update the comment if I find there are different capacities and thicknesses for these.

    Your tape measure is from 1872? Since it measures in inches ... I believe you!

      Hahaha. Well I do that for my largely American viewership. I’m Canadian and measure using metric, but Americans sometimes have a hard time imagining what a centimeter is. Haha.

    Great Video! Thank you very much! Can you tell ne, which usb a to usb c cable you have? I have problems with my cable and the Recorder runs in Energy Safe Mode. 👍

      Hi there. Thanks!
      I am using a USB-C to USB-C. All of my power banks are USB-C power banks. I made sure to buy them this way because I remember reading that USB-C can carry more power and also charge faster. I hope that helps! Thanks for watching!

    I don’t understand what you said about the bottom straps. My MixPre 6 has just enough space on the bottom handles to run the velcro straps through. My mixer is solidly suspended top and bottom and going nowhere. The MixPre 3 is different?

    • @TheRecordist
      @TheRecordist  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Ed. Yes indeed. The MixPre 3 has no pass-through on the bottom “handles” or “ears”. It’s fully blocked. On my MixPre 6 there is full pass-through. So the 6 can be securely fastened at the bottom but the 3 cannot be. Weird eh?

    Is it too big for zoom f6?

    • @TheRecordist
      @TheRecordist  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Actually, there’s a bag made for the F6. This bag is made for the MixPre line and others that may fit.
