Houndeyes can be finished off with the Glock. Vortigaunts is Glock on range, SMG on mid and short range, Shotgun on short range. HECU Soldiers is all options, but SMG, Crossbow, Shotgun, Tau Cannon, Swarmhand, Magnum etc on their respective range bands is preferable. Grunts is Tau Cannon, Missile Launcher, Grenade Launcher, Swarmhand, Shotgun on their respective range bands, but you should aim to either avoid damage from them or insta killthem with grenades, missile launcher, tau cannon or short range shotgun double shot to the chest, as they are tanky and deal alot of damage. Controllers can be dealt with by the Glock, Magnum, SMG, Tau Cannon or Gluon gun. Helicopters can be killed by all weapons, but overcharged Tau Cannon and Missile Launcher are optimal. BlackOps Assasins are best dealt with by the Magnum or Grenades after luring them into your field of fire. Bullsquids double shotgun blast on short or magnum and glock on range, you dont want to let them get close as they really mess you up. The Ichtyosaur is easily done with the crossbow and dodging. *ps: you seem to aim very low, wich leads to many of your shots missing the hitbox on mid to long range. (passing between or around the legs) aim for centermass on mid to long range or the head on short to mid range.

I honestly disagree. Everything you said is true but the player is at a massive advantage by not stopping movement. HECU marines are the only exception. Even then, cover to cover running and gunning is the core of the gameplay

I’m lucky since my game seems to be cursed with glitches that make the game easier: the fish alien glitches out whenever he goes to attack me and never deals any damage. The chopper on surface tension always crashes on a mountain and I never have to shoot it down. The second guargantian doesn’t follow me since I bring a guard along as bait and by the time the guard dies I’m too far from the giant and he loses aggro.
Half Life's unique difficulty is one of the things that makes it special. You are only a scientist and it SHOWS. You are meant to fight your way through unlike a trained soldier, but like a survivor trying to outsmart your enemies. You are given many weapons but also tools to deal with your adversity throughout. It has a learning curve but once you get it, you get it. One of the greatest games of all time, hope you keep it up!

I always enjoy seeing someone else play Half Life! At this point in my life, i got it pretty much all memorized, between playing it multiple times through the years, and rewatching Freeman's Mind a lot. The game can be hard sometimes, but it really depends on how you play it.
Use the revolver to snipe enemies in this game. It's super accurate and only needs a couple of shots to take down a soldier. The regular glock pistol is also better for long distance than the mp5 is, since the glock is more accurate than mp5. For those turrets, instead of wasting grenades on them try running up to them and use the shotgun secondary fire at point blank range to one-shot them.
The magnum can only carry a small amount of bullets compared to other guns in this game, so sniping enemies that just be killed easily using a MP5, double-shotgun hits and a pistol. The HECU soldiers and Grunts should be the only enemy to use the magnum on.
Half-Life's strategic-ness is why it's my most favorite game, despite my age. Anyways, the shotgun is pretty useless against HECU and grunts, use the magnum you got or if you want to save magnum ammo, use the MP5. Crossbows and MP5 grenades can be used if you don't want engage in combat and want to sneak up on them (magnum can be used, but their head must be visible).

Respect for sticking to it, HL definitely makes you feel dumb and gets you stuck in a genius villainy way. Some puzzles are so simple you just don't see them even when they are on the table in front of you. But oh is the reward of figuring it out worth.
The map layout is actually genius for the time it was designed. Black Mesa, the underground facility is a very much connected multi layer actual map that takes you through it in a way you pass locations you passed from a different route.
Half life is one of the easiest games I've never played, I could complete this game in a coma, I could complete this game dead and buried under 1000 feet of concrete. i finished this game in 4 hours in sven coop with my friend. you're not supposed to kill everyone, that wastes time.
