That is a harrowing pair of events . Good to see you up and about again . When you follow someone on YT , if they stop posting there is no way to find out what happened to them. It just becomes an unfinished story. Thanks for coming back .

@@romandybala hey Roman, your post is posted as a reply to my original post so, Paul might not see it. Perhaps you could delete it and post it into the main thread which would be immediately below the comment count at the top of the posts. I had a great visit with Paul yesterday, had a great chat and we took apart the a wheel to get at the 8" brake drum he needs for his cub. The only disappointing thing is Mitch wasn't there recording so, I'll missing my 15 minutes of YT fame . ;)

    Hello Mr. Brodie!
I'm a keen cyclist who started riding vintage drop bar bicycles for fun and exercise. I want to thank you for the opportunity you also gave people in other places of the world. In Sweden, there is no one with similar experiences as you have building bicycles. It is a dead profession. In my master's thesis project at Lund University, I designed and built a bicycle using much of your content on TH-cam. I found a man in the area, a soulmate, 50 years apart. His name is Johnny, and he sold much of the cycling parts through a shop in the 1980s, also tubing. He helped me understand and regulate the Acetylene/Oxygen torch (which is frightening for a beginner). He never worked with fillet brazing, but he showed me that it is possible to work without an automatic flux machine (maybe harder though). Identifying the right filler materials from Swedish suppliers was probably worth a few university credits. I milled my own dropouts and built tools and jigs for raking fork blades and brazing the frame. The bicycle turned out very nice, and I have used it every day riding to and from work at a large bicycle company where I was offered a job. My friend, who helped me start the torch also fights cancer, leukemia, and I am very grateful I took the opportunity to learn some of these skills before they are gone. Thank you Mr. Brodie for providing me with the information I needed to build my bike. Without your videos, I would not have managed. And, what an amazing feeling it is to ride your own bike. Get Well Soon/Martin

I just discovered your channel a few days ago and have been missing out. Your a wealth of knowledge and explain things in a logical manner. I worked for many years in a modern CNC machine shop where I learned a lot. Watching you work makes me realize that it is a different skill set and am so impressed at the quality of the work you produce. After many many years of saying I will get a mill and a lathe, I have finally ordered a lathe. The mill will come second.
Get well and I look forward to seeing your future videos no mater the format. I am sure they will be great.

I was diagnosed with multiple myeloma in 2001 and I didn't think I would still be alive in 2022 but here I am. I takes a long time to rebuild your body. I wasn't myself for about 2 years. Now at 70 I feel great. So just keep plugging along and focus on the things you love to do. Remember to keep your stick on the ice.😊

It is so good to see you guys back, and back at it. You have been dearly missed. I loved the story of The Excelsiors, a bit of your history, and how this channel came to be. The Three Amigos---- priceless. My two best friends for the past 40 years, we were always referred to as The Three Amigos. Until this past June, when one of them was tragically killed on his motorcycle, in Ashland Kentucky when a deer ran out in front of him in the middle of the day. You are looking great, and you are in my prayers sir. Seeing you back is like reconnecting with an old friend. All the best Paul (and Mitch).

So great to see you again. When you called me the end of April to wish me a happy birthday, I had no idea what you were going through. I always considered you a mentor and it pained me to see you going through something like this. My own "motorcycle from scratch" project has been on hold out of respect and now I will get back to it to honor your resilience and determination. All the best to you and Mitch. I hope we see more of you two soon.

This story gave me a flashback. A long long long time ago I had a jamming throttle on my souped up moped, a Puch Maxi, while I was driving on the road, just before a sharp corner. I didn't make the corner, but luckily for me I just missed some trees and some barbwire, and I ended up in a dry ditch that was overgrown with vegetation, which gave me a relative soft landing, and I was unharmed, I didn't have a single scratch. But it was very scary. And although the speed was not absurdly fast, it was still fast enough to get seriously hurt if I weren't so lucky that day. An old schoolmate of me lost his leg due to a moped accident. My moped on the other hand wasn't so lucky, but some guys who were driving behind me loaded up my moped and they brought me home. I am glad to see that you are okay and that you lived to tell the story. 👍

So glad to see you back. Regardless of what you might think, you have been an inspiration to many of us since the blog days. You’ve taught us that the machine doesn’t know or care who makes the part as long as it’s done right and has “a good fit”. This keeps many striving for better and better results. That a legacy! Praying for you during this process as we know it will not be easy. Though virtually a stranger, you are valued!

Your videos are very inspiring and I really look forward to your channel. We are all so lucky you are willing to share your life with the world and also lucky Mitch came along with his iPhone 11 to be able to capture it. I hope your treatments go well and will be thinking of you as you work your way through to full recovery.

Been watching for some time, but first time commenting. I had been considering taking your framebuilding class some years ago, but being in Ontario, I could never justify the full expense to myself. Watching your videos makes me regret not doing so, becuase the opportunity to learn under such an incredibly knowledgeable, but also obviously warm and kind individual would truly have been an amazing experience. But watching your videos has brought me a great deal of happiness and excitement, because you also cover my other passion, motorcycles. I'm glad you're back, and I wish you a fast recovery. Thank-you for this gift you've given all of us.
