Mike Stoops still can't run a defense that makes the other team uncomfortable. It will always keep OU from it's true potential. Yea, we stopped the run heavy Ohio State, but we play in the Big 12. They actually have QBs that can throw a football farther than 15 yards.

Andrew Short yea, but it's not fair that Clemson and Alabama always have easy schedules, with their toughest games at home.
In most years I would agree, but Clemson played Auburn, Alabama played FSU. Not exactly cupcake early season games

In retrospect, I see why Trey Sermon left Oklahoma his senior season. The was ready to be the featured back, for sure.
Idk why they just never watched for when they were throwing to Minm or however you spell his name especially when Norwood had to come in both times it was like come on its going to #15. And then special teams were scary after the first carry. This game had me in a bad mood all night. But the run game is looking extra emaculate , which could help open up room for Mayfield in later games. Glad Sooners won!
Ugly ass game. Time for Mike Stoops to go. This defense is pitiful against these spreads. Zero QB pressure at all. Drop back 8 deep in coverage and still give up first downs.

The only times they busted our ass was when we played zone coverage. That's where we get a majority of out picks. They walked right through it though.

I was hoping we would blow Baylor out, I didn't think we would tho. We ARE OU. WE GET EVERYBODY'S "A" game. We came out 4-0, but as usual we Sooners aren't satisfied. We definitely need to improve. FAST. THANKS FOR THE VID! Good work!
Tim Harjo We definitely have some things to work on, but yeah, for unranked teams like Baylor, who do have some legit talent, OU is their Superbowl, they get super hyped against us, kickers have career days, etc. It just comes along with being an elite program, everyone is always gunning for you and you can't ever slack off or think it will be an easy game. It's just harder for our guys to bring that level of excitement to every game, especially after already winning big games like tOSU, but if you want to come out undefeated, it's a must.

Well said, I agree. I suspect Baylor won't play that good again the rest of the season. We have high standards and expectations as Sooners, that's A LOT to carry as a 18-20yr old kid. I am proud of those guys. I am a little concerned in the mental breakdowns. Many, too many, stupid penalties. From veterans. I like our chances tho coach Riley is gamey.

Joshua Stephens well yes if you just want to highlight one team but both teams had some great plays in this game.
Surprised there were any defense highlights in this one. That defense secondary looks as abysmal as always.
Petros Papadakis' voice reminds me of a wrestling announcer. I just can't recall which one.

Thank god when OU plays in big games at the end of the year we don't get stuck with Big 12 refs. Missing holds on both sides all night, choosing to call them when we start to take momentum back twice, and spending less than 1 minute looking at that last touchdown, only to waste our times looking at the onside kick for 5 minutes a play later.

Well I shouldn't of expected an OU beat down. Big 12 play is always tough, and unpredictable. There's a target on the Sooners backs. Everybody plays to upset OU. Glad they got the 'W' Boomer... 💪

I never like to see the team come out flat and unfocused on one side of the ball like this, but at least they didn't have to swallow a loss. I'm just hoping it serves as a wake-up call instead of giving a feeling that they'll still win when they don't get up for the games.
We saw a completely different Baylor team than their first three games. It's tough to scheme fo something that you have not seen. But.......our defense, especially the secondary needs to play better. Lincoln got a little off program until the 4th quarter. He went back to the run game and opened up the passing game. This was a wake up game....i hope.
SEC is boring and everyone knows it but them. Big 12 is big boy football!!! how does the sec even sell tickets???
Past glory, that's how. Unless you're Alabama, that's all it is, is past glory and the hope that one day we won't be overrated. I've been a Hog fan my whole life, but I don't even enjoy watching them now because they can't get their shit together. Beilema and our AD Jeff Long need to be fired.

that didn't look like a 0-3 team...they have great receivers, and they're QB was playing well....their guys weren't just running wide open, but making contested plays...we have to get better on coverage, and scheme wise would adjust some things...and i think they will!!!

This was the start of the decline for Lincoln Riley’s reputation. OU has underperformed ever since that Ohio State game. 2017 was the year OU had all the potential to win the National title that year.
I agree, if they had an amazing defense with that offense, it would’ve been one of the greatest teams of all time. But the defense wasn’t as great. With that offense I felt they should’ve beat Georgia and been in the national championship game. They would’ve had a real shot at the title.

Would have beem nice if mike stoops could have stopped a simple curl route they got so many 3rd down converisons with that he was to scared of them going deep played to soft of coverage flashback 2014
Last time I checked mike stoops wasn't on the field...
He wasnt but he calls the coverages and the corners were playing way to far off making the curl route the easy catch that it was he played to much man to man on the outside he needed to go to a 2 deep saftey coverage with man press
Linebackers in a curl zone and only 4 man rush then that shit woulda beem stopped he was counting on the blitz getting to the quarterback and it didint so that left us vulnerable he is the worst at adjusting his gameplan just like in 2014 against baylor it was the same shit

I do think the players are a little more responsible for the big gains, at least at first. JT got blown by a couple times, but the secondary needs to get healthy again. But I have and will continue to shake my fist to Mike.

Oh I agree. Defense obviously needs work, and the running game took too long to develop, minus that 99 yd play. Baker is still scrambling too much and his evasiveness failed him a few times. I think he needed to get his dick knocked into the dirt like that as a reminder this is now Big 12 play. WTF was with the holding penalties!?

Biased highlights. If you're going to have a 20 min. highlight video, show your own team's weaknesses. You didn't show the first two Baylor scores. You should look at the improved NFL TH-cam highlights. They're showing every single score, which I like a lot.
The Baylor linebackers are getting tired.
Mike Stoops needs to leave his style of coaching is OLD...he needs to start running a 3-3-5 or 4-2-5 for spread offense rt ....his defensive coaching doesnt complement Riley's offensive coaching real talk
Our man to man coverage is great. His zone coverage is what killed us. Every successful pass they made was because of zone coverage. Mike stoops underestimated this Qbs throwing ability.
Exactly what i was saying. New couch, brand new QB, no way to really prepare. And Baylor has some fast WR's. Though I will say Stoops is very slow to change his game plan, even when that plan is failing. We will have to see how the rest of the year goes against offenses that are speedy.
