Thank you for helping bring one of the greatest films in cinema history to life. When I was 9 years old I loved this movie and watched it every chance I got. The part with Dr. Jeckyl and Mr. Hyde used to scare me a lot when I was younger.
Remember riding my bicycle to the VHS shop every Friday. Rented mostly kids' movies, but it became my happy place when I grew older, too. There was just something about holding a tape in your hands with the excitement that comes with a whole new adventure that got me so hyped up. Online shows have never lived up to that physical embodiment of excitement.
Agreed. I too have been riding myself to the library, not only being the only thing close to a video rental store, but also through the influence of both this movie and The Neverending Story, that shows how amazing a library can be. Whether for reading or such. There's a kind of magic found in a library that can't be found in online stuff like Netflix or such.
That happens to me when I was living at the Equestrian Apartments in Henderson all by myself. I rode my bike to McDonald's, or Taco Bell, or Smith's, or In n' Out Burger, or the movie store. That was the best time I ever had.
I was born in 2005, and during that time I was used to watching dvds. So when I saw my very first vhs tape (The Wizard Of Oz), it was like discovering treasure. Each one I would watch, I felt like I was getting ready for a real adventure.
Today, November 23rd, 2024 is the 30th Anniversary of The Pagemaster, rewatching it as an adult brought back so many memories of the movie when I was younger. I always wanted that bright yellow bike of Richard's, and rumor has it that the prop warehouse at Universal Studios still has it. Also, James Horner did the amazing soundtrack for it, Horner basically scored my childhood.
Horrible Horrible Timing on Fox's Part. Its Release date which was SO late really marred any Box Office potential it had. Fox REALLY should have thought that one through.

My youngest brother's name is Christopher Lloyd ♡ not saying our last name. Lloyd was my grandfather's name from my dad's side and my mom picked Christopher..soo Christopher Lloyd. ♡
The film’s director Joe Johnston was so unpleasant with making this movie that he omits it from him resume.
I don't think I've ever seen The Pagemaster. I don't recall watching it as a kid.
Me too, I first heard of it one week ago.
You should watch The Pagemaster. It's a good movie.
@@kodyandrewmaxwell3580 I watched it online a few months ago.
@@Valerio_the_wandering_sprite First Saw the Trailers for it Back in like Early Spring 1994. Then for some odd reason, its Release Date of May 27,1994 was completely Changed. Fox stopped running promotions for it during the summer, But resumed them once Lion King finished its Summer Theatrical Run. Fox did NOT expect Disney to bring Lion King back in during The Holiday Season. Pagemaster was released Thanksgiving, and landed with a hollow thud at the Box Office.
Garrett Woolf here and great Scott!!!! It’s Christopher Lloyd from back to the future with Michael j fox

Betty Jean Ward voiced The Queen of Hearts. She's best known for her Voice work in G.I. Joe and The Snorks(As Casey Kelp and Lil Weed). She Temporarily retired from Voice Acting in 1995 to help her Widowed Daughter raise her own Grandchildren(Ward and her Daughter are VERY close to each other like Pat Musick and Mae Whitman and was pretty close to her late son-in-law) But Ward Returned to the Business in mid 2005.
12:20, I'm reminded a lot of the trailer of the movie at the beginning of the Once Upon A Forest VHS. Only during the Once Upon A Forest VHS trailer of this movie, they show Macauley yelling into the mic from a different angle
Bruce Smith is the creator of The Proud Family!!
19:53 Those guys are in the Library
macaulay culkin looks like a teenager in this movie
He was 14 when this movie came out.
He was turning 13 when it was filmed. And 14 when it was released.
The Dragon is very scary when he breaths smoke and fire

In the part where Frank Welker is recording his lines at 6:53, who's that character on the wall on the left side?
I think it's Richard with a different design.

Does anyoneknows where i can find the deleted storyboards in where the Dragon takes over a Frog and followed Richard and the books but gets turned to stone by Fantasy ?
