Friend of mine had an absolute nightmare because of this division of labour at an awards gig. The broadcast mixer had clearly never heard the recorded version of the song they were playing and produced an absolutely dogsh*t mix on the live broadcast. Meanwhile, in the room, they were working with their regular engineer and it sounded great. She was devastated when she heard the broadcast version - it was so badly mixed it made the band sound incompetent (primarily because the 'lead' singer was singing the harmony on this particular song so the harmony line was mixed louder than the tune). You'd expect better from the BBC.
26:20 couldn’t have been a more perfectly written pre gleek dialogue. Shillery over here is literally foaming at the mouth over the affiliate links on this one 😂
If we disable delay compensation, pre-bounce tracks, and stick to lightweight zero latency (or less than 1-2ms total) plugins, then it should be feasible to do everything on an M1 or M2 MacBook Pro, you just need to make sure to use efficient and stable plugins to prevent that disaster
As a solo artist, my main hurdle is that I am unable to use my push2 or similar a host on the playaudio12. Means my redundant system ends up being two different sessions running different things.
Hello. I am grateful you took the time to make this video. I running vocal FX (using antelope discrete 4 pro, ableton with live instrument processing, and playback tracks all through the same rig. Evidently i am at the point where i am about to get mac studio to be able to run this since my MBP i9 is not powerful enough to do this. After watching this video I understand that running everything through the mac studio would still not be a good idea. So could you make a video, on how you those multiple setups work together ? would i need an audio interface to send signal to another audio interface as simply audio channels ? could one computer containing tracks trigger the instrument effect automation on the other computer ? How would one go about doing that ? Thanks in advance, enjoy your content, keep it up i can see this channel blowing up soon !
You might want to consider an Apple Silicon M2 MBP, I have an M1 Max MBP and it can run everything quite well (all backing tracks are pre-exported). The i9’s suck quite frankly, always overheating and throttling the CPU. You’ll be blown away by Apple Silicon. If you’re worried about compatibility, keep in mind that your VSTs will need to be Apple Silicon compatible, BUT if there’s an AU version then you’ll be able to run that plug-in in Rosetta mode thanks to the AU Rosetta bridge that Apple created.
What console would u recommend to do a live electronic act? i wanna connect a maschine, a midi keyboard and a ddj. idk how to run it all.

I appreciate the time and effort you've put into the content.

I’d be curious how you (as an Ableton Certified Trainer) would coach a solo artist using the Push 3 with Live to build their performance rig.
Perfect channel for I’m looking to get more knowledgeable about!
