Do you reconfigure your picks at the tip in a different way? Maybe with a set of tools for thin ice that have a finer tip blade and more of a beak curve to them?
Sorry Beskin but this technique was being used in the early 1990s. On free hanging curtains this technique is the only thing that works if there is nothing to hook. Jeff Lowe (r.i.p.) did this exact thing.
I invent things all the time that I find that someone(s) before me have invented. He has named this the Scratch Technique not the Beskin Technique. I don't see any ego here, just a genuine desire to share a technique that will help others.
