    Paaaah, they chose spinach to represent the 'this is what you should eat in a day', which is so deceptive, because it looks like a lot but shrinks down to like 1/3 when it's cooked.

      I agree. Spinach has a lot of volume, but not a lot of weight. All that cooks down to less than a small bowl sometimes. Just make a soup out of it, or stir fry with a bit of garlic.
      I eat a lot of carrots. I can consume that much fiber with just a simple bowl of vegetarian curry and then I'm done :))))))).

    • @d.e.b.b5788

      That's because no one really knows what a healthy diet is. Other than not eating spoiled food, too little or too much food, humans survive on all kinds of different diets. The recent acceptance that the low fat, high carbohydrate diet is complicit in the obesity and diabetes epidemic is a perfect example of how inexact the science of nutrition is.

    Also, how do people not know that these things are bad for you? Alcohol is full of calories and sugar, coffee (milky e.g. latte) is fatty and sugary, fizzy drinks are pure sugar. It's all about moderation. It surprises me that as grown adults they don't know how bad those things are.

    • @laurynelove7093
      @laurynelove7093 9 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      it's not that they don't know, it's that they don't care. They know it's bad but they make up excuses to eat them like "can't be *that* bad" and things like that. They brainwash themselves into thinking it isn't that much but when they see it, they can't believe it.

    • @BenRangel
      @BenRangel 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      A regular latte is not fatty and sugary. It's just coffee and hot milk. Some milk in your diet can be benefitial. Just avoid the syrups and shit and you're fine.
      Some alcohol intake, like having a glass of red wine a few times a week, can be benefitial when it comes to heart disease and cancer.
      Sodas are crap though. They're one of the things that every dietist can agree on is shit.

    • @JessRushworth
      @JessRushworth 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      BenRangel most lattes come with syrup or sugar I mean, and them ilk is often whole fat. A latte at starbucks is 190 without syrups or sugar, just on its own. And thinks like frappes are 300 plus. It's fine as a treat, but if people have a few per day, thats a lot. Also, the red wine thing is roughly 1 small glass a week :P sodas are sooo bad you are right!

    • @assassino1002
      @assassino1002 8 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      +nour nahhas protein shakes are a waste of money if your just starting out. You should eat lots of nutritious, whole foods. I recommend after the gym to immediately consume a meal of 250g of white rice and about 150-200g of cooked chicken. With that meal you'd get more protein than a protein shake and the Carbohydrates from the rice will help shuttle the nutrients into your muscle cells to aid in recovery. Hope this helps. :)

    • @FacedeGen
      @FacedeGen 9 ปีที่แล้ว +31

      Just learn how to cook, you'll see that eating healthy food can be wonderful. Healthy food doesn't mean "green salad" every day ^_~
      And well, buying processed food is waaaaaay more expensive than non-processed food. Cuz most of the time, you have more sugar and/or fat than anything else. A meal you'll make yourself will be far more nutritively efficient than a processed one.
      But you may live in the US and well, I think the kind of food-production system there doesn't help to get unprocessed-food at a fair price.. :/

      Yep! Canned foods don't go bad as fast as fresh greens. They're not as "healthy" but they're cheaper and last longer.. but then, society isn't setup for people with little income to survive anyway. Most of us eat as healthy as we can for our money. That's good enough for me!

    • @dawnm1227
      @dawnm1227 9 ปีที่แล้ว +21

      ***** Protip: if you are living on a strict budget, you can't buy a whole lot of fresh fruit and vegetable and expensive lean meats and whole grains, even at Walmart (actually, especially at Walmart given their pick in the order of food truck produce quality) because you likely can only shop once every one or two weeks and the shelf life of some of those things is notoriously small.
      I also love how videos on nutrition always feature fairly thin people telling fairly thin people how to eat better.

    • @MidmaCM
      @MidmaCM 9 ปีที่แล้ว +20

      It's ridiculous to say eating healthy is expensive. You can live healthy on foodstamps. Just be smart about where you buy and what you buy. Blaming it on money is lazy. If you really didn't have money, you'd have to eat potatoes, beans, and rice every day. Will cost you about as much as a ramen diet but is a much healthier alternative. Use your brain.

      My friends spend close to 150-250 bucks a month eating out and frozen dinners. Their blood pressure and BMI is absurdly high.
      For me, it's cheaper to eat healthy. There are plenty of ways to do it.

  • @growingandcooking7278
    @growingandcooking7278 9 ปีที่แล้ว +84

    Wow, these comments are really making me realize how uneducated the public is regarding proper nutrition. You can eat relatively healthy and still enjoy your life. It's all about balance. No person should be eating the amount of sugar and fat these people ate in a week. Period. It's not just about living longer, it's about being able to function properly as you age and saving money on healthcare costs in the future so you can provide for yourself and your family without too much stress. Man, with the attitudes displayed here, no wonder food-related diseases like heart disease, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and high triglycerides are killing off people in droves like never before in history. Taylor Morrison It should be pointed out that you exercise with your high-protein intake. People like to look at red meats and think guzzling all of it down is a good thing for protein intake... but they need to remember that meat must ALWAYS be paired with exercise and lots of water. That's the only way hydrolysis works. Anyway, good job. You sound like you're in awesome shape.

      EG: 3L of water and MAX 1L of anything else. EVERY. DAY.
      I used to be very overweight (136kg) and now im 70kg with a bodyfat of 4% because i dropped processed sugars, i workout 5 times a week or more if im recovered enough and i eat a lot of fibrous and complex carbohydrates as well. Most people are culeless as to how many calories are in certain foods, or as to the amount per serving. For instance, have you ever measured out a serving of breakfast cereal? A serving is 3/4ths of a cup, it wont even fill a quarter of most bowls! Most of us fill up the whole bowl! At 130 calories a serving, we end up eating like 5 or 600 calories in cereal not counting the 200 calories in milk = 800 calorie breakfast! Or something like a mixed platter from Taco bueno is 2600 calories and 5600mg sodium, that's 600 more than our daily calorie intake for a whole day in one meal, and 2 days worth of sodium, that much sodium in one sitting spikes your blood pressure causing your arteries to be damaged. And being that there is 3500 calories in 1 lbs of fat, that girl that ate 5000 calories too much in a week will gain weight at just over 1lbs of fat per week, that's more than 50 lbs a year! Ouch, knowledge is power though.

      To make matters worse, the cereal most people eat is incredibly unhealthy, its short carbs with a shitload of sugar added to it.. So after eating those 800 cal worth of cereal, you'll be hungry again within two hours...
      Gaining weight from over eating is true but it doesnt necessarily go as black and white as you suggest. There is a fair chance that the girl just has a higher base caloric requirement than the other guys (howmuch you'd need if you just lie in bed doing nothing all day). Your body also excretes some calories if you over eat, most of it goes into mass though...

    What a lot of these people don't understand is its not exactly there fault. Sugar and unhealthy food is addicting. Sugar is equivalent to drugs. Its hard to eat right in the society we've grown up in and the food industry that surrounds us daily. They lie to us about what were eating and make healthy food more expensive. You can try your best to stay healthy but with most people its really really hard. Some people its easy and I envy those people. We all face the problems of unhealthy eating addiction to some extent. Some more than others. I can tell you with me its a nightmare when I try to eat healthy. After a week its like I just need sugar. Its bad. If you wanna watch an amazing documentary about this then watch Fed Up. I saw it on Netflix and it completely changed my life.

    • @olena9274
      @olena9274 9 ปีที่แล้ว +16

      1) 99.9% of the time, it is a person's fault. The very vast majority of people CAN eat healthy and exercise- the sole reason people are overweight/obese is LAZINESS.
      2) I agree, sugar and unhealthy foods are addictive. But literally anything on this earth can be addicting. You can become addicted to brushing your teeth, watching TV, or chewing gum. You can become addicted to anything, but you don't. You don't have to be addicted to food, and if you truly are, you can get help.
      3) Even if you did grow up eating unhealthy, YOU CAN CHANGE THAT. But, people are lazy and don't change it, and therefore continue being unhealthy.
      4) The food industry doesn't lie to us. Many foods have a nutritional facts label. If they don't, you can easily Google nutritional facts for whatever food you want and get that info. It's literally illegal for companies to lie on food labels. It's the consumer's job to read said label and make choices based on what's in the food.
      5) If you are truly "addicted" to food (which I doubt you are) then do something about it. Yes, eating healthy for the first few weeks or even months will be hard. You'll crave sugar. Any major change in your life will be hard to adjust to, you just have to stick to it and you'll see results.

      No problem. It's hard to cut back on sugar and even harder if you eat low fat. But eating low fat foods isn't healthy unless they naturally don't have fat of course. I used to drink juice all the time and slowly cut it out. I thought that it was ok because it wasnt soda but juice has as much sugar. Now i either dink milk, kefir, tea, or tomato juice. I still need to cut back on sugar from yogurt and condiments but it is very hard so i get it.

      It's in a super rural town in the Southern United States. It has regular fruit and vegetables in the produce section, but the only lettuce they have is in plastic bags. In the summer I hear they have romaine and other attached lettuces in the produce section, but I go back home to my parents' house in the summer so I don't know firsthand. And everything is super expensive, like $3 for an avocado, $5 for a small carton of berries, etc. and those are the prices when they are in season. I've stopped eating meat and nuts because both are just so expensive. I get my protein from eggs and beans now since they're more affordable.

      @peter2kx 8 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Give it up for Jackson Heights own, Mr. Randy Watson I know I know there is a huge difference. Macros aren't everything and you need to consider nutritional values in as well. My point is, oatmeal is a relatively healthy source of carbs, greek yogurt is a relatively healthy source of protein. My point was sugar is not everything. for mens, their daily allowance is 35-37 grams of sugar and for women 25-27 grams of sugar a day. If you can fit those in, and there is good nutritional values in the food, then why not?

    • @Jackson_Hts_Mr_Randy_Watson
      @Jackson_Hts_Mr_Randy_Watson 8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I see your point now. Personally I would still avoid sugar or any processed foods as much as possible. I do not use the Federal daily allowance as my guide, it's still too much IMO.
      Usually for breakfast I'll have regular oats, with blueberries, flax seed and cinnamon. Simple and relatively cheap. I do have plain yogurt with some sort of fruit. Which has natural sugar, but no added sugar. Most people I know though will have oatmeal as a packet (with sugar or sugar substitute) and yogurt with as much added sugar that exceeds your daily allowance in one serving.

    • @peter2kx
      @peter2kx 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Give it up for Jackson Heights own, Mr. Randy Watson agreed. I will usually avoid most things with added sugar, or at least find things and brands with the lowest amount of sugar that still has what I am looking for. Like you said, you normally want to find natural things. It's always better to have natural sugars, fats, proteins, carbs, etc.

    To everyone that makes a comment about "American" beer having sugar, go take a damn biology class. Alcohol is the fermentation of carbohydrates by bacteria. Carbs = sugar and starch, something plants have a lot of. Our equivalent to alcohol in our bodies is lactic acid, the soreness you get from exercising when you use more energy than you have oxygen to complete respiration. Your body has to do a half ass job of creating ATP when you're low on oxygen; ATP is the molecule that provides energy to do work in the cell. That's why learning to breathe correctly when exercising is so important and why fermentation of alcohol is done in a sealed container with little/no air.

    I really hate to be that person BUT a nutritionist is not the same as a registered dietitian. A dietitian is highly more credible than a nutritionist. Anyone can call themselves a nutritionist after reading a couple articles, but a dietitian has a bachelor's or higher, as well as gone through a supervised internship and practice followed by the RD examination. I eat all sorts of fruit, and rice with veggies, burritos, veggie pizza, quinoa salads, potatoes, etc. People think you need to eat like a rabbit in order to be healthy. Ahem, NOT TRUE! Eat the foods you crave. If you crave sugar, eat fruit! If you crave rice, eat it! These foods are good for you! Look at all the indigenous populations in the world and study what they eat.

    I don't get why our general belief is that healthy is bad or something? Like most people are so proud that they eat crazy diet and do whatever because they don't care. It tastes good so it's fine. They are going to die anyway so live however they want to be happy in the moment. Eating healthy doesn't mean you can't have some bad but it just shouldn't be all the time but 10-20%. Think about all those times you feel so tired in your days, you feel like you have no energy and bloated in your stomach. It is because what you ate, it affects you immediately throughout your day not just in the long term.

    • @LouisAndPillz
      @LouisAndPillz 9 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      No one believes being healthy is bad.
      It's just so hard to be healthy nowadays, especially with how all the big food corporations are stuffing every ounce of sugar and fat into their food possible so that we get hooked on it, that the time that you'd spend worrying about every single thing you eat can be used for something else that's semi-productive or makes you happy.
      And that doesn't necessarily mean they're living in the moment either. Preparing a healthy dish can take you more than a few hours even if it's super simple due to all the research you'd have to do, having to go to multiple supermarkets/stores and make sure that it has the correct nutritional value and is the right brand, buying it for a premium which takes more money out of your account, going home and actually cooking it correctly, and then finally sitting down and eating something that probably won't even taste as good to you because your body grew accustomed to all the shit that you've been putting in it.
      And that's just for preparing one dish. That's quite a bit of work for very little gain, other than the fact that you now live a little healthier.

    • @BenRangel
      @BenRangel 9 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I agree. I just don't get people who eat unhealthy *all* the time.
      Even if you think that unhealthy food is the only thing that tastes good, you would probably enjoy it more if you had healthy food once in a while.
      Remember when you were a kid and only was allowed to eat candy on weekends - man that candy tasted so much better.

      @BewareTheLilyOfTheValley 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I'll admit that I eat unhealthy on a regular basis (and when I say unhealthy, I mean it. An old favorite food came back into my life a few weeks ago which is basically chilli cheese fries with Fritos...absolutely horrible for your body but effing delicious to me). However, whenever my family cooks, we usually follow a simple meal plan. A meat, which may range from baked to grilled to fried, a side dish which is often rice, or mashed potatoes, or maybe mac n' cheese or beans...it varies greatly. And finally a vegetable. This may be green beans, carrots, peas, a bag of mixed vegetables, ect. Since this is a household of adults, we often have "go for yourself nights" and with varying schedules, it's rare that anyone feels like cooking. So, we're often left up to our own devices to eat whatever we want to. So, we switch on and off with healthy/healthier eating and the junk food. We always try to balance it out and when we go shopping, we get things that will last a while and have cut back on things like snack cakes since those can go quickly without filling you.

A few highly processed products derived from the stevia plant however have been approved and are classified as generally accepted as safe. Some countries have also placed restrictions on the processed stevia derived products in the form of maximum dosages as a precaution. Personally I prefer natural sugars in moderation as a sweetener over any sugar substitute but that may not be the healthiest choice for some.

      @eriklong12 9 ปีที่แล้ว +69

      +itsacrocidile Nutritionist isn't a regulated term. If they were looking for an actual professional, rather then someone who also runs a blog, they would have gone with a Dietitian. Additionally, this individual, Christy Meyers, in particular was accredited by an organization that frequently accredits degree mills. The American Association of Drugless Practitioners accreditation is dubious at best.
      Her second one, the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, seem legit, but it is a .com, which is just a warning sign but not a dealbreaker. It's got the regulatory stamps from the New York Education Department, and a Better Business Bureau accreditation, but there isn't anything from any major Dietition organization, which again is a regulated term, and Nutritionist is not.
      So yeah, if you want information on a healthy diet, a Nutritionist isn't the way to go. You want a dietitian. Maybe some of her points is correct, but some may not be. That's why her video isn't relevant and that is why she isn't qualified.

      +itsacrocidile It's the difference between going to a doctor, and asking your friend who knows a lot about medicine. You're friend is not formally trained in the field, and thus has no credibility. He could potentially be giving 100% accurate information, but there is no way of *verifying* this through only what is given in the video.
      Or this is the difference between someone who tutors math with "some college" rather than "A PhD" as a different example.

    First of all that is a ton of food to have to eat a day and secondly it is just expensive to eat that much. That salad she wanted them to eat a day costs about $7 and I live on a part time job, dinners have to cost $2 or less, I'm not spending half a week's budget on a salad.
    Truthfully I can't be alone, who can afford spending about $7 a day on just vegetables?

Its all about money... sadly

    • @Simonthecat88
      @Simonthecat88 10 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Yeah the food charts are barely achievable if you don't have a lot of money. Before rich people were the fat one but now it's poor people because they can only access low quality food. But I think those charts are also made to make people react about how they eat... it's more like "what you should ideally eat" rather than "you're not healthy if you don't eat like that". Plus those charts doesn't apply to all individuals, because we're all different with different needs. The other thing is : Do you really think you need to eat a ton of salad in December ? when it's freezing cold outside ? certainly not. To me the most important thing that a lot of people forgot is to eat foods related to seasons, and to listen to our bodies.

      You do not need to eat a whole bag of kale a day. Frozen veg is your savoir here、it is cheap and quick. 1 vegetable serving is 75g or 1/2 a cup of carrots/peas/corn etc, or 1 cup of leafy veg. Eat a salad with lunch, and 2 portions of veg with dinner, with two servings of fruit a day (100g, so a banana, apple, two kiwis etc) as dessert or snacks.

    That much greens? In a week? Are you KIDDING me? What else is a person going to eat? And in a lot of very urban areas, vegetables and fruits are mass-produced, greenhouse-grown and ripened forcibly with gasses and such. They taste like vaguely-flavored wood at best... and we're supposed to eat them like they're wonderful?

      +Mikalhvi uhm have you ever heard of salad dressing? LOL lemon juice + black pepper + garlic powder = best dressing ever, and fat free.
      salad is amazing, one bag of lettuce a day is nothing lol.
      you eat it as a side with other healthy meals, rice, quinoa, pasta, veggie burgers, anything you want. lettuce isn't a MEAL if that's what you're implying.
      eating that much greens should be NORMAL.. LOL

    • @Lousidity
      @Lousidity 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Alexis Rose Okay, first off, did you not read the part about actually-ripe, good-tasting produce being available in urban areas? At least, not at an affordable price. No amount of dressing that's within _healthy, moderate limitations_ is going to mask the disgusting favor of artificially-ripened fruit or vegetables. That's the key point here; healthy and moderate limitations. And don't even get me started on quinoa - I have nothing against the quinoa itself, but it's the way it's being sold.

    The problem with these nutritionists is that they don't seem to understand the society, the food available has never been what they recommend. They are caught up in the idea that we should eat absurd quantities of vegetables and almost nothing else. The fact is that the amount of fat basically makes no difference, sugar is only a problem is to have enough to get diabetes. And worse than that look at the people, they are perfectly healthy and of average weight. The average amount of calories per day is somewhere between 1500 and 2000 for most people, sugar is fine and fat make no difference. Oh and your salt content is fine.
    Also for people who have been tricked into organic, its not actually better in any way shape or form. Not even once or a little bit. In many cases its actually worse.
    No onto some science, meat is mostly proteins and contains little actual energy for you. Vegetables and carbohydrates are variations on sugar and have lots of energy. Milk is meant to replace solid food so its got all sorts of stuff.
    Lastly and most importantly don't eat excessive amounts of ANYTHING, a lot of stuff can screw with your bodies chemistry.

    • @EE-hj7cm
      @EE-hj7cm 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well, one thing is that. Everything is energy. It's just how the body can use it. Sugar is quick energy. I don't know what it is called, but something like, monosakkarides? (mono- single) (Im norwegian). and things like whole grain bread has more of poly (polo - multiple). Your body needs to break down the food in the mouth and in your stomach, while sugar is easier available for your body. And then insulin comes into play and everything. But the body use what's most easily available as energy. then comes fat and protein. If the body has enough energy (of carbs - more easily available) it will store fat. If not, it will use fat as energy (either what you have eaten or stored), protein too, which means if you dont have much fat or carbs as energy you will use what protein you have eaten or have available in your body, for instance in muscle tissue. Correct me if Im wrong, but I think this is about how it goes?

      Where are you getting your information from, Doomlord? Personally, I'm going to take a nutritionist's advice over yours.
      That quantity of vegetables is hardly "absurd." It's not even that hard to reach a minimum of 5 servings of fruits and vegetables a day. Even things like tomato sauce, salsa, and hummus can count toward your daily fruit and veggie intake. So if you dip a serving of baby carrots in hummus, you can reach two servings in one snack! It's also easy to include fruits and vegetables as side dishes or as part of a recipe. For instance, I reached about two or three servings of vegetables in one meal by including spinach and mushrooms (they're fungi but can count toward your intake because of their nutrient content) in my omelet.
      And yes, sugar is fine in moderation, but that doesn't give people a free pass to eat as much added sugar as they want just because they don't have diabetes. Most people in many developed countries consume way too much added sugar and salt.
      As for protein, it is extremely important for energy and building muscle. Oh, and milk's health benefits are overstated -- there are better dairy products out there, like yogurt. Milk cannot "replace solid food."
      We don't know how healthy these people in the video are. Being average weight is not the sole indicator of health. Also, if they continue to eat this way, they won't be average weight anymore.

    • @melaknee5116
      @melaknee5116 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      preach^
      animal products are great for energy in the long run. they are the only products that contain vitamin b12 which gives you energy and can be stored in your body for up to a year.
      protein can be found in a variety of foods, not just meat and fish.
      theres also a huge difference between the sugar found in fruit and the sugar found in processed foods. the same with fat. one is obviously healthier for your body.
      fresh fruits and vegetables is not difficult to find either. just eat healthy bro and do your body some good.

    • @EE-hj7cm
      @EE-hj7cm 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think there are some amino acids you cant get with a veggie diet tho.. or atleast not a vegan diet. And we need the different types of fat. But I if thinking about health, there are a ton of different ways to do it. As long as it works, and one doesn't need everything to be fine anyway.

      @j.d.v2.09 8 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      +PammyWammy If you never start exercising then your body will never 'be ready' for that. Unless born with a physical deformity, your body was made for exercise and being active.
      If it's now not in that state that's due to conscious choices on your part. If you care about your health you will exercise for health. Does this mean you run marathons, or work out 2+ hours a day, no, but everyone needs at least 30 minutes of moderate to high intensity exercise a day unless your daily activities include a lot of manual or physical labor.
      Unless you intend to deliberately induce long term health issues upon yourself you need to make exercise "your thing". Otherwise that's a conscious choice to have poor health and I hope you intend to embrace the long-term consequences of your choice and not complain later about any health conditions you have due to it.

    A vegan diet is one of the healthiest ways you can eat. We shouldn't be afraid of calories, we should just eat the right kinds of foods and we won't gain weight even if we eat a lot (which we should). And carbohydrates are the body's preferred source of energy so we would be doing our bodies a favour. Plants for the win! (pasta, rice, potatoes, veggies, fruit, fruit, fruit = love) ♥

      It's funny how you don't realise that their main problems were fat and sugar. Both of which vegans and vegetarians can have problems with... They can all have an overdose of beer, sweet drinks, trans fat. Artificial fat used to make their food taste like meat, etc. Also, if we were to talk about the other nutrients, vegans would have far less proteins than vegetarians and meat eaters.

    How the frick do these people stay in so good shape, even when they barely work out? And especially the money too.
    I mean like I'm okay with vegetables, but I just don't have the money. I hate my life...

      Get a job? And save up?

      Lord Jexter Erm... see, I'm 13, and I did apply for a job and I'm currently waiting for an answer. Finland gets lower income than US and a lot of people are getting fired, so my mother gets 600 a month aka 10,000 euro annual income, and normal would be 30,000 annual income. She usually has ~100 to use on food, free-time stuff etc.
      And what do you mean save up? Save money? There's not enough for our needs.

      Lol just a suggestion bro. Don't need to write a 3 paragraph response. Understand your situation and all.

      then why do you have a computer (or phone as the case may be) when you should be using the money for food, and you said you use money for free time stuff? yeah id rather eat good food than waste my money on useless stuff like that (for witch you get nothing out of besides momentary pleasure)

    Wow, the girls aren't eating enough. Take away the drinks, candy, and chips and you can see how pitiful their meals are.

      +Vanna Bowie That's the problem with these stupid "diet" myths. People think eating less = eating healthy and don't realize that there are good calories and bad calories. They think they can have a piece of cake for breakfast and eat nothing else for the rest of the day to even it out. Nope!! They'd be better off eating the cake, candy and chips plus a salad, entree and several side dishes. Your body needs real food to metabolize the rest properly.

      +Z-Dine Studio lol your Body doesnt need extra food to process other food. You probably also believe breakfast is the most important meal

      Julian Hill Dinner is the most important meal. Also, I was raised by a nutritionist. You need fiber and water to digest your food (primary source is usually fruits and vegetables). You also need B vitamins, iron and certain amino acids to properly metabolize food. That's why leafy green vegetables are important to eat with a large meal. If you eat kale or spinach in small portions on top of every meal you already eat, you will lose weight.

      +Z-Dine Studio You do not lose weight by eating more? Don't you understand basic phyics, thermal energy, more out means you need to burn fat to get the Energy which Will Make you lose weight. Iron and such Are also found in meat.

      Julian Hill That's not how physics works or how the human body works. We don't gain weight from everything we eat; we pass a lot of it through as waste (poop). Our metabolism is what dictates how much of each substance becomes waste, versus how much is converted into fat. The way to raise our metabolism and therefore stop converting carbs into fat is to eat a diet rich in amino acids and B vitamins. And although these are all found in meat as well as vegetables, what is NOT found in meat in large enough quantities is water and fiber (two things we absolutely need to poop right). Also, most meat is high in fat, so that's clearly adding to the problem of having too much fat.
