Disney fans - like me - suffering from GreeLoft’s approach.. why didn’t they have another developer for this game? 😢
Is gameloft the one to blame though? Disney itself is a very greedy company so I am not sure whether the developer is the one to blame. Usually from the higher ups they are forced to put more monetization in their games even if the devs itself hate it.
Appears to me that this is the case. We’ll never know, though. I see your point but I think Disney has a lot more sources of revenue than Gameloft will ever have. Plus, look at Gameloft’s portfolio. Their approach to monetizing games is quite similar all throughout. Thus, IMO this is the case. But again, I see where you’re coming from.
Yup I am in the same boat. Before the update I had Mickey Mouse Maxed Out.
But after the upgrade system I got Mike up 10 lvls from 40-50 & a bunch of characters to lvl 40 & there all still not even lvl 40 yet & I am down to about 200K of upgrade coins left & I have no intention of buying upgrade coins.
There why to expensive
Disney Dreamlight Valley, another game by Gameloft, offers even better representations of the Disney license. It retains the authentic Disney feel without the undesirable loot box aspect because you purchase it upfront.
The Incredibles should be an excellent choice to add on Speedstorm
@joshridgway7302 The main four can easily fit one of the four respective racer criteria; Mr. Incredible as a Brawler and Dash as a Speedster. I'm not sure whether Elastigirl or Violet will be either a defender or trickster, as they each have their own degrees of defense and tricks.

That is why I will use them on new racers like the wreck it ralph, mid season and other future season, I will ONLY upgrade a previous old character if the world tour requires them at a high level

Welp, I fell for it and now I only have about 4,300
Same now I feel stupid, I maxed out 9 racers on the first day and now I have almost 15k coins
This is my last season, I am 100% sure, its too absurd...
Nice video, Sky! The new upgrade system is definitely better to level up racers than before but the lack of Upgrade Coins rewards made things more tricky.... after my terrible experience with the lack of Red Cans on past seasons, i just level up racers when i truly need to complete Tour and events, if people spend all the convert coins without think, this could be lead to a huge progression trouble.
*42* - the answer to anything and everything in life, even with Disney Speedstorm.
strangly true, if you get every racer to 42 you can complete every event no problem :p

After doing the math for this, it seems you get 3 upgrade coins for every 1 token. Which is INSANE how bad that is, and is probably why upgrade coins are so scarce.
For example, if you want to get a character from level 33 to 34, it's 2300 upgrade coins or about $8. Or getting a character from level 49 to 50 is 10,000 upgrade coins or about $34.
Completely ridiculous!
I accidentally bought one Gaston upgrade with my tokens that I wanted to keep for the next golden pass coin. I'm so pissed because I didn't know that you could even buy them. I just pressed X too fast while upgrading 😮💨
I haven’t been spending all of upgrade coins. Been saving them for the current/future seasons and events. Only been focusing on racers that will be needed. Not all racers are used in the chapters and events.
Maybe Cars As a Season Theme Could be Really Awesome

The real money cost to upgrade coins is honestly bonkers. There is an illusion here though, that we need lvl 50 characters, when we don't actually need them. Just take all your characters to platinum, then fully ignore ranked mode. I highly recommend not trying to go to diamond, that's for spenders only, but one is welcome to try. IMO it's a very painful and slow grind due to game bugs and lag starts losing points. Level characters to around 30-35 or as needed for all other activities, tournament, tour etc. while saving at least 75k coins for unforseen things coming up. Overall, doing that, things are working out pretty well.. at least so far.
You should have mentioned that people need to remember to do the daily challenge to get more upgrade coins.

@@ryuno2097yeah, some people seemed not to care much for upgrade coins and ignored energy drinks part as they had thousands of them and after level 35 I believe you no longer needed any energy drinks.
I just maxed Ariel (my main) and Jasmine (my first main). Upgraded Elsa, Kristoff, Celia, Jessie and Ursula to 40 and keeping like 100k

So I started playing when Aladdin's season came out, the f2p era. What would you recommend - level the characters for the Tournament Vault characters to the World Tour ones? I don't really have Anna at 20+ or have a Sulley, Ortensia, Gantu etc. So my World Tour is giving incomplete.

I for the most part will only use it to level up characters to 35 and my main for each Season to 40 (Got Vanellope to 40 this Season) And might just with leftover upgrade coins level up 1 or 2 levels on specific characters I love. Already got my mains (1 per class) maxed out so already got that over with. But crazy how Ariel is just halfway done with required upgrade coins.

I joined when the game first launched but I only recently started to play again. It’s a bit frustrating having Jesse but not being able to play her missions because I don’t have the characters before those missions which makes it harder to get Ralph. I got some tokens so I’m hoping I can at least unlock all the wreck it characters when the second part drops
I've pretty much given up on unlocking anyone new or even attempting the Seasons. Seasons are just the same thing over and over again and It's gotten really tedious and draining. I also don't like being forced to use characters I don't have fun playing as. Fix-it Felix Jr is the only Wreck it Ralph character I have because I refuse to pay for the Gold Pass and support this greed. I just want to race as Donald and Minnie, So I just focus all my resources on them so I can have fun with my favorite characters online or in Local Free play
Well, only one of my feet is in that trap. I only upgraded my Top 5 Most Used. I did keep around 300k coins. I doubt it will be that way for long...
I always make sure i don't drop below 100k. This new upgrade system is a good idea but when i saw the amount the gave us for completing dailies, mission and such , I knew it will hurt us a lot.
If the game will be too hard , to stressing I will quit so I hope many players, so the developers will understand

I absolutely agree! Stop at level 40 at the max. There's no point going any higher than 40 honestly. It's a really decent level to compete and it just guarantees you can complete any requirement in the future. But obviously priorities the node characters and levels first.
Even though I spent all my coins that I ended up 1 coin left, one coin, I already got my characters to around lvl 30 minimum at least before the conversion and got my 3 wir characters pass lvl 30 too. So slowly building up my characters while also taking the bonus on racer boost on some characters as well. Bet if some were lvl 50 maxed out, I will take it and earn some season coins instead but get a whole lot of upgrade coins after.
Getting shards is a simple grind and I don't mind waiting for now to save up to gain more shards plus saving upgrade coins easily too
I know that is what you have to do I always do this so I still have plenty of upgrade coins like 145,000 coins
Golden Pass - I think there will be 2 paid golden passes each season with different racers in each from now on rather than 1 long golden pass for the whole season meaning you have to buy a new golden pass every 5 weeks if you want all the racers
I agree with you I am not fall thier trap I am keeping collecting more upgrades coins and safe them for wreck it Ralph characters jafar figment and etc.
I saw earlier in your live that you had the option to buy upgrade coins in your shop. That option is not even in my shop. Do you have any idea why that might be

My problem is with chapter 4 in nodes 7 and 8, I need a Gaston and Ortensia at level 26, so I can't even get to the nodes after at 9 and 10 Celia Mae and Ursula at 26 that I do have, so that's an extra 6 shards that I won't have and I probably won't even get the 12 Ralph shards
Im saving my season character tokens as you suggest... Does anyone knoe if these need using before the halfway season update?
Luckily I was able to get most of my racers to at least lv.30. Now I’ll be saving my upgrade coins and use them sparingly for the season tour and limited events.
I got mine mostly to 25 so next stage is now to get all to 30 - just need those hero shards lol
I just recently got into this game again and I've just been trying to get my first maxed character but I've been struggling just trying to get vanellope to lvl 40
I waited. I knew it was best to keep them for the season characters.

Just for the record, I still have a good amount left, about 30k. Currently doing my best to save them and use them only when necessary
Hello. How did you get lvl 42 golden pass? aside from quests, did you buy premium?
Just doing quests and season tour, I haven't purchased any tiers or the bundle
Fact is, I am on lvl 44 or near and literally its way too easy to get to lvl 49 plus once you reach level 45 or so which is the kart liveries, now it costs 1250xp to level up insteak of 1k xp.
So pretty much near and daily playing the game minus one quest I didn't get to finish that I forgot

U actually can reach level 50 pretty easily
I’m level 26, I only completed the first chapter of the season tour, do the daily and weekly missions (i have a few missions to complete)
The missions I have to complete are up to 5 levels, each season chapter gives u at least 5 levels, so doing the sum, that’s kinda like level 46 (at least) when I complete all (except the final chapter)

i have 5 fully maxed out characters and those are the only ones il ever play till the next season i really like. if we can get some more tracks and change the god awful menu music to something actually related to the season maybe well be on par with other modern racers

I purposely am not upgrading my Mickey Mouse beyond Level 48 so that I can continue to play the "It All Started With a Mouse" challenge for the purpose of earning extra upgrade coins and items that I can trade for extra season coins.

Yep, too late for me too! So many shiny 50 players, but now broke on upgrade coins. Buy still I love this game. When I’m not playing Speedstorm then I’m playing Lorcana, two pretty expensive pastimes!
The price for upgrade coins is such a joke, they could even divide by 10 the price of it it would still be expensive...
This is getting out of hand and if it stays like this, many players, even paying players will stop playing as they are just after our money...

At the end of the day, do what makes you happy. But in terms of optimizing progression, it’s not worth it

I have 559,142 Upgrade Coins as of right now. I haven't used up all of them. I have absolutely no intention of doing so. I'm going to save my Upgrade Coins and hang on to them.

Sure, the new upgrade system is better on paper, but they are being so stingy with upgrade coins.. it's not even funny.
I 100% expect recommended level for even season characters to hit +40 on the main path in part 2, with optional paths hitting 45-50.

Welp, for me, I had about 128,000 upgrade coins. Now, I have 16,000. But most of my characters are at four or five stars.
Nothing has changed to be fair, s1 to s6 had items to upgrade so getting high level was a struggle even at times impossible. Now s7 has coins, its equally the same pain in the ass as before but just hidden within a new system. I would say tho, yes spend coins yes upgrade racers as youll need them soon or within the near future. Chapter 4 needs venllope at z level, then events need z racers at a level. So yes you need to upgrade however like before do it within reason.
Luckily I don't care for ranked mode and I was very careful updgrading characters. I don't have any maxed out and I only upgraded those characters needed for the events and the seson tour. Still, I'm worried about the requirements for part 2.
Ranked mode is one of the best modes how do you not care for it makes no sense

i made the mistake of spending and ran out, dont like the new system at all for upgrades, or maybe discounted upgrades for older characters and leave it as more for newer ones

Honestly i don't care about completing the season tour 100% especially when i don't even own all if the characters. I doubt ill be able to unlock Ralf or fo i care.
I used all my upgrade coins, making sure everyone is at least Level 40, and ended up with only like 6 characters at under 40 but over 30
What you SHOULD NOT DO AT ALL UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES, is buy the new shop option that’s like 36000 upgrade coins for the absurd amount of 11000 tokens 💀💀
Disney need to fix Disney speedstorm on switch is so stupid most of the character are very stiff
Here I am with 500,000+ coins I play the game different lol I upgrade when needed for challenge a lot of my character are 30+ so I’m good. People don’t understand how gatcha games work waste all your resources and your screwed lol
So yall dont realize this yet but this Game keeps you GRINDING your ass off EVERY season. You never get catch up or get to enjoy the racers you WANT to use becuz you have use the racers they want u too use for them dumbass challenges. This a fucking kart racer not a looter shooter....tf
Season 7, even before it started, is just a *TRAINWRECK.* This game's quality has just taken a NOSEDIVE from not every character having voice acting and becoming very F2P unfriendly.
