I love that cut at 16:54 to the bassist and drummer playing while the kids are singing. The look of pride and happiness is so earnest and so great to see.
Does anyone realizes just how talented their bassist is? He deserves to be recongized more often. I thought he was lame af untill i realized.. He plays so Tight and solid but insanely colorful note choice. (He actually sat down and PUT THOUGHT IN TO THE BASSLINES. they are super simple yet so damn effective with his colorful note choices. He has insanely good technique. His left and right hands are both relaxed. His freting technuique is so stretched out comfortable an the neck and he is so proper that no. Notes sound so consistent. it kills No Fret buzz. No bad tone. His picking technuique is so proffesional and constistent which fixes some notes sticking out in the mix tone. Keepin mathy time signatures on the back of his hand.. when he has to keep time forstrange minor fills.. dynamics in note length and note onterval was very proffesional. A + for holding back. Great use of your diffrent picking dynamics. and picking lenghts Hes no flee but he is no averge .
I KNOW I especially love in "Every Wave To Ever Rise" he keeps it simple from the start but then just changes a LITTLE bit during Elizabeth's verse and it changes the entire song mostly with different context to each instrument with the reharmonization.
That's Nate Kinsella! He's an epic musician all around. He's also an incredible drummer and organ/piano player. Check out his drumming in Make Believe. Totally different band, but really highlights his playing.

Xylophonist stole the show, didn't think it could get any better. THen the drummer started playing trumpet, it was the best part, best ever. Then there was the man on the ganzá. Then Mike Kinsella was awsome, sublime, totally stole the show. It couldn't be topped. Then, oh! a melodica! Then the little person's chorus came in, and it was next level.
