I bought the 24 sp a few weeks ago. Its a significant update from my 2019 sp in every way. I test rode the standard model, loved it and ordered the sp. zero regrets.
I own a XSR900 first gen since 2021. I can not imagine that you need more power or torque than this bike provides. Besides, it is very light and classic.
I went with tracer 9 to do the second year service. Because it will be almost two hours waiting, I decided to do some test rides..... 🙄.... I tested the xsr900, the standard mt09 and the mt-09 SP......... Result:.... I don't have the tracer anymore... 😅.... A brand new Mt-09 SP lives in my garage now.... No regrets AT ALL. 😊
@@ulaskvlcm Too sporty position for me. Very uncomfortable hard seat and low handlebars. My knees were very bend as well and Im not very tall. Is a beautiful machine but not for me.
I've ridden 2nd, 3rd, and 4th gen MT-09's and the improvements have been remarkable. Hated the 2nd gen, snatchy throttle and terrible suspension. Thought the 3rd gen was a huge improvement, fixed the glaring issues with the 2nd gen but didn't make me feel like it stood out from the competition. This generation just refined it so much further, feels like one of the best bikes available.
If anyone is wondering about the seat height, Im 5'7" (174 cm) and I can put both feet on the ground, no more tiptoes for me. That wasn't possible in my previous Tracer 9.
Okay, I’ll be the first to say what everyone has been saying elsewhere… I’m not sold on that Ironman-esk headlight either. I’ll stick with my 2021 MT-09 with all its quirks for now.
To be frank, when looking at how the Tracer and MT-10 carried the dual headlights design forward and the MT-09 went back to a smaller front-end reminiscent of the first-gen, it's kinda understandable IMO. The center light still looks a little odd to me 😅
Nice improvements since the Aluminum frame and slightly lower seat height for short people like me. For my needs it has to be the MT-09 Tracer however. I jumped into the middle of the video and hear an American Narrating, yet the narrow twisty roads, different signage Corn , Cattle and Logging all in the same area. Not riding on the wrong side of the road. So my guess is Germany. I may be able to figure this out by checking out the link possibly for the dealer.
@@povertyspec9651 I found the Power Sports dealer he put a link for . Much like some of the Power Sports Dealers in the USA.. Looks like they sell most everything except for BMW
@@ak-47821 5'4" with more like 26" crotch to floor.. wear 29" inseam pants. My Buell Ulysees has a rather wide seat so I can only do one foot down with that.
You didn’t do the shot of your ergos riding back and forth…. I miss that. It always gave me a true sense of how it fits. Nice vid just the same. 👍🤪🏳️🌈
What exactly was changed about the master cylinder? Was the piston changed from axial to radial, or is it “just” the upgrade to a Brembo branded one? 🤔
Going to test ride the automatic version in a week, I already know coming from naked bikes this will be my next one for years to come, but not the automatic one haha.
I owned a SV650 an then bought a XSR900. It is a big improvement in agility, bigger than the figures show. Suspension, brakes and stability of the Yamaha is far superior. However, the Suzuki is a fantastic machine.
With you on that one mate. I have the '22 version and the look of the exhaust box now spoils the look of the otherwise immaculate bike. At a distance it looks rusty.

Love mine too!! 🙌

How was the XSR?

I prefer the comfort of the faring, but it all depends on what you use the bike for.

Like the looks from the side view but that head light reminds me of a welders helmet.
Well now you’ll have to test the Tracer 09 GT+ and deliver a review on our behalf! Like your reviews! 😊
Great review Scott.
I can see you as Wayne Rainey on the XSR900GP version!
Just like you, now that is a classic!
Cheers!

In before people start complaining about the looks 😂. Its a great bike, really enjoying my 2024 SP model.

Me too! 👍
Beautiful bike. It's hard to beat Yamaha & Honda.
Good looking bike
Dealer been making me wait so long for my sp that i know more abouy the bike than the damn techs at yamaha 😂😂

So why does a huge organisation like Yamaha need 10 years to sort out a bikes dynamics?
my last 2 bikes were around the same weight, CBR500R and SV650. i'm either tracking one of these down or last year's SP model. i need that cruise
I traded my SV650 for the 2024 MT09 and the jump in quality is significant and for the record I loved my SV650
I "just bought" the '24 tracer 9gt+ and could not ask for a more perfect bike for me. ymmv

No, it's a great leap forward from the last ones wonky handling.
Nope, got a Street Triple instead.
Is the switch gear back lit? If not in the dark with all those switches and not knowing which one you were pressing would be a deal BREAKER for me.
As u said, it is a yamaha so no worries with reliability.... r u going to try MT 10 and is it available in Europe
Notice anything about the riding position? Heard it's more leaned forward now.
It is and that's why I'm keeping my 2023 SP.
Price for SP model, all day for Adventure bike :) no need wind blast :DX 😂
I read a lot of comments and it appears people prefer mt09 sp over mt10
Nope. I have the 2023 10SP and it is superior to the 09SP in every way (except fuel consumption). Well worth the extra money.
😮
3 cylinders engines don't talk to me

having now SV650 as my first bike - this MT09SP might be my next one - would it be an upgrade to go for?

@@MrPeryite exactly my thoughts!
@@josevi5835 yeap, I like my SV650 but after 10k miles I see the lowlights: brakes, suspension, etc. But torque is fantastic
@@zyghom I frankly miss my SV because of the torquey engine and cheap tire consumption. In the rest of departments the XSR is very superior.
Like everything about it, except the look of the exhaust. Color seems rusty to me.

Look how bad that exhaust looks it’s a brand new bike and that huge exhaust looks rusted old and tired that alone would stop me from buying this bike
