- Struggle, and futility - all one's days are a constant toil to shelter life's ember through one more night. The Leper not only knows but embraces such solemnity. Tortured existence has taught him to count not on the care of others. He has learned to channel his energy inward, a kingdom within one man. His power can neither serve nor comfort others; but, drawing on it, he can gain strength others can but dream of, or the endurance to bear what no other could. And when his massive blade falls, death's call rings loud to all caught in its thunderous arc. However, such force falls not nimbly, and foes may lightly evade their execution.
His dread sickness has given the Leper his name surely as it has taken his body. Huddled by a campfire, its ruinous toll becomes most evident, to himself and those lit by the same flames. Should their mental firmness be tenuous, the Leper may isolate himself to spare their peace of mind; a mercy, paid for with his own well-being. However, if his own solace be paramount, the protection and prison of his mask may be slipped - a calming intoxication of air upon a striken visage. While looking upon such maligned flesh may revolt those he shares the firelight with, true companionship he can always find, meditating on his lofty blade - a once officious weapon, now broken as the man who wields it.
In the end, all will meet with death. The Leper sets his sights only on ensuring as many of the twisted horrors of this land as possible attend their final appointment, until his own may be postponed no more.
Darkest Dungeon 2 is the highly anticipated sequel to the original gothic horror RPG game. Set in a new region of the world, this game takes place after the events of the first game, where the evil lurking beneath the estate has now spread and threatens to engulf the entire world. Players must lead a new group of heroes as they traverse treacherous landscapes and face unspeakable horrors, all while unraveling the twisted lore that has brought about this new era of darkness. With new mechanics, new enemies, and a new story, Darkest Dungeon 2 promises to be an intense and unforgettable journey into the depths of madness.
Leper is such a good example of the kind of world that Darkest Dungeon is. Here we see a man who uses his power not for some hedonistically selfish endeavor, but rather a generous cause. He is the true embodiment of a hero, selflessly throwing himself aside for the bliss of others.
And what does he get for all of this?
He gets broken.
He helps the sick only to catch terminal disease, he serves his community only for his allies to plot against him. He has everything to make him a hero except opportunity: the one thing this world cannot afford him. This cruel world has turned him into a ruined king but, most importantly, he persists. He carries on and continues to stay himself regardless of the world he finds himself in. He is the symbol of hope in the face of ruin.
I just realized that everybody is facing away from the light and the Leeper is the only one that isnt
Because he literally a chad
He has no regrets
He fights a neverending battle of forgiveness for the betterment of humanity, but always come at the top. Because, to him, he has given everything to where he is ready for his demise. He's not afraid nor he wishes for oblivion. He knows the end is coming for him and he is ready to make everything right before that happens.
He’s a flower and needs sun for food 🌸
@@badninja81 no remorse, no guilt. He was right, and he knows it! His only regret is not doing it even sooner!
Reasons for why the Leper is literally the best:
-Inspired to Baldwin king of Jerusalem (awesome historical figure)
-cool as fuck mask.
-is at peace with his life's choices.
-doesn't need a whole sword to kick your ass.
-doesn't need to be healthy to kick your ass.
-genuinely good guy at heart.
-genuinely religious man at heart.
-is a poet.
-"Spare the others, i am ready."
And lets not forget that in the first game he literally has a camping skill that makes him take damage in order to ensure the well-being of his colleagues, long live the king.
That’s what the point of the mask is!-
"This is not the time for heroes," says the Ancestor in the first trailer, when the Leper is RIGHT THERE.
imagine him with full health and a whole sword
probably could defeat bounty hunter without trouble
@@efezcn646he might oneshot him
Oneshot Heart of Darkness
If he was a man who was in full health and not broken sword, he would not be the man we see him today
To quote Stormlight Archive
"Life before death. Strength before weakness. Journey before destination."
Life before death - The Radiant seeks to defend life, always. He never kills unnecessarily, and never risks his own life for frivolous reasons. Living is harder than dying. The Radiant's duty is to live.
Strength before weakness - All men are weak at some time in their lives. The Radiant protects those who are weak, and uses his strength for others. Strength does not make one capable of rule; it makes one capable of service.
Journey before destination - There are always several ways to achieve a goal. Failure is preferable to winning through unjust means. Protecting ten innocents is not worth killing one. In the end, all men die. How you lived will be far more important to the Almighty than what you accomplished.
Really does fit The Leper.
Thank you, this is beautiful and mind opening
