Dude honestly this is incredible. There is something about the conversation that turns on a part of my brain that no other how to video can quite do. So simple but really effective - made me buy one
Love the approach of explaining to a complete beginner. It helps with learning on a whole different for beginners and even medium skilled guys. - thank you
Two heads always better than one ... even should one be a beginner .... Jamie you sure are a quick learner ... so many options ... so little time ... as you guys nailed it ... well done!
Hopefully the digitone gets a game-changing update down the line like syntakt and digitakt did recently. Would also love the syntakt to get some way to utilize multiple voices for chords like digitone.

I should have specified that the Digitone has 4 internal tracks - which i called voices. Sorry to mix those up It also has 4 midi tracks which i did not mention in this video as I feel that's a little more advanced.
@@LiamKillen yeah i was just getting a bit confused, because I was on the point to buy it and I was not sure anymore :p but at the end I was double checking on Elektron website to be sure ;-)
@@LiamKillen it just seems like an odd design choice to give an audio production device loud clicky buttons like a 1970s typewriter. You dont get distracted by it? can you hear it through headphones? *workaround - sample the button clicks and use them as percussion (sure someone must have done this)
Here I change the algorithm, it influences how the operators influence the carrier, just make sure the ratios are in a pleasant division. Uuuh oke, thanks, i guess 🙂
total Elektron beginner here. this video was kinda not really any help at all, it was just dude #1 fumbling through the unit explaining all the terms wrong and dude #2 nodding and saying “ok”…i get that it’s fun to twiddle the knobs and clack away at buttons but this isnt a tutorial or explanation by any stretch.
Either way I appreciate you watching - it’s more of a video to give an idea of what it’s actually capable of and not a hands on A to B tutorial I do have some more precise / technical Elektron content which is more along the lines of what you’re looking for.
Once you get the workflow though it's smooth AF ! You seem like someone who would be interested in joining up w/ the old Discord- we talk Elektron all the time :-) discord.gg/xj8J2xJuBP

Glad to hear that! Thank you for watching 😊
Right. I have the digitone II, and need a bit of help with some of the functions - moving away from moog and Eurorack.

Yeah I like this format a lot and will be doing lots more of it in the future! :-)
This is the best how to format.
Hey thanks for watching :-)
Very helpful guys. Especially for complete beginners. Thanks
Glad to help!
Great video Liam, make more of these!
Considering it for sure!

Cheers to learning!
I was waiting for that so long 😊😊😊
Hope it helpssss!!!
@@LiamKillen Everything from your channel always helps ✌🏽🙂
4:41 would've been nice to explain that! It's pretty essential.
I didn’t go through everything!
@@LiamKillen It was a good video though. Thanks, I learned a lot.
Very helpful, thanks!
It’s a pleasure

There’s a lot of empty spots on the Digitone UI so I’m assuming they’re going to add some more over time
Great video 🙌
Thanks for watching!!
Nice video! However, as long as a voice‘s tune isn’t changed the keyboard starts with C ;-)
That keyboard always confuses me lol
Is it a good idea to connect it to fl studio?
I've never tried - i'm not super familiar with FL TBH
Best thing I learned is just lfo your ratios. Something wonderful will happen eventually.
Yeah that’s a solid tip
Dope 🧗♂
Dope sauce lol
Lovely👍
cheers

Is your digitone customized with decals? Or is it some special edition? Looks sick!
Customized! No special edition here :-)
@@LiamKillenVery Sexy 😏
At 4min, don't you mix up voice and track? I though the digitone has 8 voices?

Digitone polyphonic midi is a match made in Heaven with the 404MK2
Yes! That's a truly awesome combo :-)
make one for the digitakt I beg 😂
Noted!!
I wouldn't consider Liam a "complete beginner"
Heh
I find the size of this box appealing but every video I looked at, my main impression is how rattley the buttons are
I love that about the Elektron devices
The clicky buttons are a delight to use: a very nice tactile element that's part of the experience of (most) Elektron devices.
Just got my hands on a used digitone yesterday and this was my first thought. Looks so well built but buttons feel weak af
it seems like a lot of YTers exaggerate their clicking on the Elektron boxes

@@LiamKillen Especially the Octatrack that is over engineered big time.
Boomers vibes 🦾🫀
I ain't a boomer! I'm a millenial! :-)
You guys make this machine sound like a children's toy. Show folks how to use this is a real production and we might be impressed. Waste of time!
This guy fux ⬆️

Dude you’re confusing timbres with voices. Right off the bat
I am a confused individual so it checks out.
I wouldn't consider Liam a "complete beginner"
