OMG ! @19:00. Genius pattern. To me this is exactly the sweet spot of the DN - real time sound design as you are producing. Then CTRL ALL for performance. Just superb - both machine and composer/performer. Great work. Love it ! 👏👍😁

This is inspiring. I kind of wrote off FM since I'm a Moog sound guy but this... changed my mind.
Please keep doing these. Some of us need to learn how to synth from scratch with all the details and no magic.

Like someone said upthere... each of yours DN vids just explains to myself why i’m so in love with that box. Combine with my Minitaur is getting so sweeeet

Well done! The Digitone and Digitakt rarely leave my desk--I think Elektron found that magical balance between complexity and accessibility.

Every time you make a new Digitone video it sends me into an all-day spiral of rediscovering why it's my favorite piece of kit. Appreciate the hell out of it~

    • @ToyKeeper

Love the sound, love the features, love the UI... just not too fond of how the Elektron workflow pushes the user toward short loop-based compositions. I tried for a long time to use a Digitakt as the center of my studio, composing everything on it... but it's really not designed for songs longer than a pattern or two. It's built more as a performance instrument where the user morphs a single pattern real-time.
So now I try not to reach for my Elektron gear until after I've got a melody laid out. That way I don't get stuck in a loop... and I can still use it for what it's good at.

The arp function is a beast. It feels very much like a sequencer you’d see in a modular set up. The ability to change the length is such a game changer for creating polyrhrythms.

Jeremy, it's really cool that you share this kind of process in a video.
Can you talk out loud in videos like this, how do you decide/think about frequency conflicts when choosing timbres?
With synthesizers like these, it is very easy to make the sound muddy.
I downloaded your pattern pack for digitone. I was amazed that you always get a crystalline sound

Quick question if you don’t mind! Are you having to switch MIDI channels on the Keystep when you select each track on the Digitone, or is it controlling the selected track automatically?
