Since Vroid's own editor lacks several features every art program has, I think making only the sketch there and then finishing it with a real art program is the best choice for everyone.
Bruh I am gonna go start over on my eyes i was making because you just helped fix the issue I was having with it looking kinda uneven. The locking option... never knew that. Max level appreciation.
1:02 - The lock DOESN'T prevent changes to the layer!? And instead prevents changes to the transparent parts of it!? WHAT??? First, that's REALLY useful, since we can't limit changes to a selection area like in dedicated art software. Second, that's REALLY unintuitive! Just about any other software, locking something means no changes can be made to it! Great tip!
THAT'S WHAT I WAS THINKING TOO!!!! I never used it because I thought it just locked everything from being changed!! But no, its actually really useful LMAO
one should mention it really only works for that layer, that you locked. You can't apply the extents to layers below it, like you could in Photoshop or other professional painting software. On the plus side, you can lock as many layers as you need to. Oh and if you need to delete parts of the layer, you have to unlock it first, or it will be painting in black color instead.( you can't imagine how annoying it is to be painting in, when you want to remove color.
Personally I only use vroid's texture editor for sketching because it lags on my pc, so I bring the texture sketches with the guides into clip studio paint and render them there, I do replace it during different stages to see how it's wrapping around the model. It is a bit more tedious this way but I get to use my custom CSP brushes so yeah, makes it look more unique to me and less "vroid typical style"
I was messing around with gimp today, and got somewhat of a texture layer put over the main clothing. I was trying something like a texture for denim, but the lines are too far apart.
Great job, I watch this video every day hoping I can do something simple on Vroid, but for me it seems impossible, nothing comes out that I try to customize.. it's frustrating LOL
hi! i found out how to fix it! When you go to make clothes, go onto skin mask! You should see black on bits of the skin. Use white and colour those in, they'll appear again!
How do you zoom in on the right hand side in different areas besides just the middle? I feel so dumb with the amount of time I spent coloring something in now. 😅
I been looking keep 1 years where and how can I make it easy way clothes i scrolling many youtuber videos i accept them they really working soo hard but you know this video soo cool in here every videos with every inch of details i would love to watch this and now my model becoz more batter then then 1day...

I know this is old and you probably figured this out already, but in case someone reading this doesn't: Within the Texture Editor for the piece of clothing, go to the "Skin Mask" Tab (next to Outfit) and edit the Layer there. It only uses two colors, black and white. The black parts of the skin will be deleted and the white parts will be kept as-is. This is to prevent skin clipping through the clothes, so adjust it as needed.

Yes.

Nice! I'm usually too intimidated to make my own clothes, but your tips look really helpful!

I say this is the best easy tutorial vod, thank you very much!
It looks cool but if someone is having performance issues with some features of the software what alternatives would you suggest??

I dont know why but for some reason when i delete the original texture some body parts get cut off on my model, is there any way to fix that?

What if the body gets deleted too when I deleted the original layer?

Excuse me - are you using tablet for drawing? Or you do it with mouse?
A tablet! You can get an inexpensive one easily for around 40~usd on amazon
how did u make it look more cartoon-ish (i mean the avatar not the clothes) is it just the skin color?
Yes! It's just how I painted the skin texture
