Enjoyed the video and story telling. Also you have a very calming and ease bringing voice. I’d personally enjoy hearing more. PS what glasses do you wear they look nice?
Thank you for this, Shar! I always wanted to learn your art process, and now I can! I made a whole Twitter account just for this! Thank you for the opportunities to win this! (I just hope I entered properly 😅)
This was so wholesome and had wonderful information that will be very useful to people. I know my way around Flash/Animate but it was cool to hear some new things.. That selection colour script is such a cool idea. I will for sure try it sometime if I use Animate again. Hope to see more like this!
ngl you were like one of my main inspirations to pick up art again. i used to draw a lot when i was younger, but i stopped because i felt like i couldn't draw that well. seeing your zelda and link animations really inspired me to try drawing them myself too because i love them too, so thanks a lot for that. i still can't draw that well, yet, but i'll get there one day and i'm gonna keep going until then.
As someone who produces audio, I would like to express my appreciation towards your comfortable sound design in combination with your animation. Good job
Your animations were my final push into deciding i'm gonna study animation after highschool; thank you so much! This video shall be very helpful. Much love xoxo 😊💐
Your mom's right I'd pay for one of your soothing angelic rambles!!! And congrats on the great vid, I get it may be out of your comfort zone (I'd die if I tried one of these) but DO MORE, you're great at it and a huge inspiration for me and all of us, your stuff warms my heart tysm❤
SAME. That voice is so cozy and calm. Carries the same sort of vibe I've heard from Bob Ross and a few of my favorite Twitch streamers; a down-to-earth quietness mixed with a radiant passion for what they do. Put it together and you get a cocktail of GOOD VIBES✨
I truly couldn't be happier to: 1. Hear her talk again. 2. Learn to draw... FROM THE BEST?!?!?! 3. See that she is STILL the embodiment of "creative, funni, wholesome."
I'd love to be able to animate, but I'd have to be able to draw more than a stick figure I think. I know those stick fighting animations exist, but you know what I mean. Also I'm so happy you got little tiny keychain plushies! I'm always sad when youtubers make merch and its big expensive hoodies or $35 T-shirts. Something cute and small like a keychain or coffee mug is always awesome because I already have a million dang hoodies.
I haven't attempted animation in like four years, but when I saw this in my feed after getting that itch to try again, I knew I had to! This was so simple and fun to follow along with, I ended up completing the peace sign animation in one weekend! Thank you Shar!!
Thanks for sharing your technique with us Shar! I'm sure this video will help inspire countless other artists and animators ahead! Have a happy All Saints Day and All Souls Day next week Shar, and congrats again on the plushies! 💚
man your quality of these style videos is really smooth. really love the transition animations. TCH style 'follow along with me' videos is really clever and cute. It's also like doing little assignments with a class. a great way to practice for new animators.
New sub! I just started watching you less than 10 minutes ago, and I decided you are way to good for existence. Thank you for this tutorial, I will definitely be referring back to this in the near future!
I also use animate, I think it's very good to work with vectors, it's very easy to model the lines until you get the desired result and also to clean up by cutting and deleting unwanted lines, this helps a lot.
i always loved your style shar!! so bubbly and the colors are so soft! animation is tough but super rewarding in the end c: cant wait to see who animates from here!
When I learned animation in college, they showed a technique in where you animate each object individually. By keeping an object defined- you can set its color and shading without having to manually color each iteration. (Idk if this helps anyone but it’s how I learned.)
Loved your video! Had no intention on animating today, or drawing in general, but your adorable little character animation, along with the smooth flowing video with tips on how you do things- it kept me watching and now I have my sketchbook in front of me. Keep up the good work, I think you did wonderful with this!

I have a good friend whom I've known for sometime. Often when we hang out outisde of school its simple things, like taking a walk and getting coffee. My absolute favorite thing is to just hear them explain (ramble.) about things that interest them. Its very relaxing and soothing, so I understand why your Ma would think so as well. Anyhow, keep on fighting the good fight ma'am!
This video is genuinely such a huge lifesaver for me rn as i'm working for a huge animation project as a school assignment at the moment and have to work my way around that animation. It's like this vid came out at the perfect time for me and i can't thank you enough for this especially because i don't have much experience in animation and this just made my process much more bearable and organized. Again, much thanks !!
As someone who feels competent already in animation this was still really interesting to see how other people go about their process and see other software, I know a lot of people use adobe but I use a pretty weak software all things considered so seeing all these tools is something I’m not used to. I tend to also do VERY rough sketches initially so it was nice to see someone else who also does the messy sketches. It also reminded me that I’m very weird for not really drawing or animating humans, like ever. It’s mainly dinosaurs and Pokémon.
hi ms. shar, it's me the guy who tried to work with you, I sadly wasn't able to work in animation, but I got to work with something even better, retro gaming, I'm working on a PS1 vid currently so thank you for the support you've given me❤
As someone with no skill in art i will continue to watch you and other people who are good at art and be amazed by your witchcraft. Thank you for giving us what nintendo is too much of a coward to give us.

I found this through a rabbit hole run on TH-cam and honestly I am just wonderfully and very much so flabbergasted by the content quality here. AAAAH omggg shar you’ve been one of my favourite animators for a REALLY long time (like since 2020) and now you’ve finally released a tut!! It’s so helpful too, you are straight to the point and explain it so that it’s easy to follow, I’ll definitely be using some of your advice in the future (especially the shadow and highlights one that’s a godsend 😭) but seriously I love your videos I hope you have good luck and that the other side of your pillow is cold when you flip it over
I decided to finally get into animation recently and found your channel which is really inspiring for me. Especially because you make a lot of cute animations with your favorite ship, which is exactly what I want to do myself. I'm working on my first small animation now, and when I take a break from animating to check youtube I see this. Perfect timing. Love your videos, thank you and please keep making them!
i did animate along side you a bit!! only got to clean sketching but i'm still really proud of what i did the way you showed your process made it easy to digest and it's the first thing i've actually made in a while- thank you!!!
This is really nice actually! I like the vibe atomosphere of the animating and you casually chatting about it and other things. Would be cool to see a longer version where this is a video series perhaps - if you're into that! Or streaming even 0v0. I think you'd be great at it personally ^^ Ofc do what you enjoy and have time for though! Thanks for the chill vibes to help me ease into my animating more haha. I always struggle to get into that flow every day.
This is a random detail, but as someone who's studying a CS master's, has a hobby in art, and dabbles in animation (and has been suffering in relearning it recently, hah!), it's very comforting to watch someone who's in a similar bubble and do it so well, let alone teach it! It's inspiring and really cozy to hear your process, so thank you for your delightful contribution :)
Ahhh, you use a samusng tab that's so cool, I rarely see none online who use them consistently. I also really love the video it suits the way I learn perfectly. So thank you.

So aesthetically pleasing- THE EFFORT AAAA u explained this very well and THANK U FOR THIS!! this is kind of the only animation tutorial i understood. ill definitely watch this if i ever decide to actually sit down and animate LMAOO love your work
There is actually a way to make the paint bucket tool fill in gaps. If you click the tool and then go to it's properties, there should be a box, if you click on it you can see different options to do with gaps.
yup!! but it often fills some shapes incompletely (e.g. small corners of boxes or shapes can remain unfilled) - totally fine to use that setting though! 👍 i just personally prefer the alternative
Great video! I burned myself out animating awhile ago. Animating is so time consuming compared to just drawing one thing ._. but I've been wanting to get back to it, so thank you for reminding that I should get back to animating :D
