that's interesting she said years ago people hid their injuries. it's true I experienced that In junior high when I hurt my back during a gymnastic performance. my mother just wouldn't pursue it. it was like `I'm not paying for a visit just for a Dr to tell you not to do something anymore' when probably all I needed was therapy but it was like case closed after that.

John, you are a mirror of mine, although my parent would not be proactive in any way for my young self's very decent physicality. i came 'in' later in life & i did extremely well in later life. my fate, but better & thrilling to be 'in' at all 😊 . TY for writing, Best Wishes @ ya onward.
      🙂💚

Wish I had her help when I was intensely studying dance. No one talked about injuries then. You danced through it

Laura Johnson were you in a company? Seems like it would be weird if people didn’t have people to care for their high risk employees when they’re the ones making you money!

@@headphonic8 it was considered taboo and hypersensitive and in some places it still is. I've certainly had that feeling of embarrassment from pain and fearful of getting help

Wow I love dancing and I wished I studied physiotherapy instead of wasting time on nursing. I trust my physiotherapist so much. They are definitely unsung heroes

i think Ballet and top Equestrian sports are the only sports that are difficult enough and physically demanding enough to require physical therapy regularly to keep you physically sound and flexible enough to continue competing and training at top level.
people grossly underestimate how difficult it is

Don't go looking for crutches. It's all in 'balance'. NOT athleticism. "Balance". You're all training and correct nurturing to be able to hear the call of the music. It's NOT "athleticism".

why does all of the female pysios are old women?

They've been caring about and helping others since they were younger, and since they didn't die yet, they got older...thankfully they care and don't label themselves as "old" as others do....
