Thank you for sharing your story. I took Bupropion about 7-8 years ago for about a year and a half. I was going through a rough break up and was trying to find a place to live. I was initially on 150SR, and after a few days, I would wake up crying at the dumbest of things. They switched me to 150XR, that went well, and I was eventually kicked up to 300SR. Life got a lot better, and I eventually weened off of it. I’m 40 now, moved to a small town (used to the big city life), and have just felt lonely for a while. I think SAD started this year, and while I waited too long, I still just started it again. Just on 150XL, and a few days in, but I am feeling excellent! Drinking and smoking cut by 3/4th, have been super productive at work, and even got up this AM to get a haircut, get some new gym shoes and work out. Had lunch and spent tie with family, then came home, and still had the gumption to do dishes, vacuum, and organize some things. This is probably the best experience I have had on it ever.
I’m on my 5th day of 100mg Wellbutrin SR, and after the 7th day, I’ll increase to 200mg (two 100mg doses a day). I absolutely love it so far! It seems to address all my issues, including depression and ADHD-like symptoms like motivation and concentration. I already felt noticeably happier by the 3rd day! I’ve been monitoring the side effects, and it’s true-there are some. On the 3rd or 4th day, I experienced both diarrhea and constipation, which was unexpected. One day, I had to pick my grandmother up from the airport exactly when the medication was peaking, and I felt really anxious about driving and figuring out the logistics. It was almost like my head was in the clouds, with a kind of fluttery feeling. Then I realized it was 3 PM, and all I’d had to eat were three boiled eggs! (Which I attribute to the appetite suppression effects of the drug). This made me realize how important it is to eat properly while on this medication. I’m looking forward to seeing how I feel on day 7 with the extra 100mg each day. However, because of that anxious day, I might request switching to the XL version instead of SR to see if the extended-release formulation works better for me. That said, I’m so happy I decided to start this medication! It’s already making such a difference.
That’s so interesting it worked well for you. I tried it 15 years ago and I had anxiety, couldn’t eat and dropped to an unhealthy weight, headaches, you name it. I lasted maybe 2 months. Glad it worked for you ❤
I started taking it on Monday this week. I got depression, prob. ADD, and an EBV (Epstein-Barr virus) a couple of years ago, which kinda started somewhat a chronic fatigue in me. This week has been special, I also had a cold so spent a lot of time in bed. But, I got so emotional and was crying for 2-3 days on every small thing. But generally I feel much more present, and actively thinking about me. Today, Friday I was feeling much, much better. I do have a bit of anxiety about the weight as I am already very skinny. Very much looking forward to the next weeks as I am currently looking for a job, so I hope I'll be in a much better mental state to actually send out applications.
I have Wellbutrin but felt like it didn’t do anything for me. I think the fatigue comes from my GLP -1. I’m taking Zoloft again, but I might give Wellbutrin another chance.
Curious how long it took for you to start feeling the effects? I’m on week two and still struggling with fatigue. There are glimmers of lightness, but still not there. Should I push through?
If you take wellbutrin together with Naltrexone it acts as an appetite uppressant. I've lost 13 lbs in the past 13 days. My goal is to lose another 85 lbs.
@@Anythingforfreedom yes I was looking into this and possibly taking low dose naltrexone has been shown to help with pain and inflammation as as well as various addictions.
That’s wild, I’m in my first week of Wellbutrin for different reasons dealing with the reasons I went to food that’s surfacing from loosing 50 plus pounds on the compound tirzepatide.
Been on it for 3 years, it still works...not as relatively noticeable after a while, but still don't sink into depression, that's enough to call it a miracle. The A.D.D. help has faded though.
I have reduced my dose to 75mg of the regular Wellbutrin hcl. The extended release wasn’t working with my GLP1s. I might do every other day and see how that goes too but I definitely need to stay on it for the foreseeable future. I was on it for over six months and got off of it and it was straight back to horrible sleep, zero energy, unable to focus etc

@ Yes for sure! Though these days who knows?! It might work better for me. Me in my 20s is totally different from my 40s.

Oh man I LOVE my Wellbutrin. Life changing medication for me! I must say brand name Wellbutrin works much better for me than generic Bupropion 😎
O interesting!

O sounds like a tough week! I hope this next one is better for you. The meds really helped me with my chronic fatigue.

I felt better the first day and noticed a little bit of a headache and some insomnia days 2 or 3.
