- in tthis video I'm gonna share with you how to test a turbo Actuator on a Sprinter Van, Limp Mode Diagnosis ! #turbo #diesel #dieselengine #sprintervan #sprinter #actuator
Thank you for the video.
At one time, both Jeep and Mercedes insisted that the actuator and turbo had to be replaced together. What nonsense that turned out to be.
A simple test if someone has no access to test equipment is to cycle the ignition. The actuator arm should move.
I love the sprinter videos as my jeep has the same engine.

I appreciate your video, you showed a lot on electrical trouble shooting in this one video. I think basically if a component has a key switch on with hot and ground the other wire is the control wire. If it only has 3 wires. So thank you, I had a bad actuator on 2006 sprinter turbo.

You can teach all the mechanics in NJ and give them a course. In a video you taught what they charge 5k and 15 days to do.

Thank you for an excellent tutorial, please post more, i can't understand why there is an additional 'Earth' from the ecu when it has a live and a ground already ? 🤔
@sollykhan2385 My Pleasure! The ECU sends ground on the control wire to actuate the actuator!
@@KITS_Auto_and_Truck_Repair Thank you for your kind response, Bless🙂
You are a great video maker. And very knowledgeable. I lost power to my 2008 3.0 Sprinter this weekend. I will now test the actuator thanks to your kind and informative video. But how can I know if it is the EGR system or the turbo Boost pressure sensor is the problem? I checked all the turbo lines and pipes and everything looks good. And resonator is good. Please advise. I really need to fix my van pronto.
@andko00201 cycle the ignition key on and off and the actuator arm should move if it doesn't your actuator might be bad! an EGR Valve that's sticking open would cause the vehicle to stall at idle, disconnect the EGR electrical connector and see what happens, if it stops then that's your problem!
The actuator moved and I unplugged the EGR and the van still ran. Then I checked the codes and now I got po100,po110, and po107. Do you have videos on that? Please help. I must go somewhere important tomorrow. You are appreciated Highly.

I have a 2013 Mercedes sprinter and I have a problem starting the vehicle only in the morning especially in the cold/winter? It takes 20ish seconds of turning the key for it to turn on. Do you have any solutions?
@user-wt2lh2kp1l Check your glow plugs!
This is pretty great video, what would it mean it the vanes in the turbo don't move do you have a video regarding this?
@Slim3rC10 Thank you! if the vanes in the turbo are stuck, you will have low boost or over boost constantly!
@@KITS_Auto_and_Truck_Repair is there a way to fix this or is it a turbo rebuild?
In Australia OM612 from a Range Rover has a numatic turbo actuator.
@wiretamer5710 ah ok! you mean vacuum operated actuator!
Good video!! Im actually NOT getting any power to the actuator. Could it be a Bad fuse, Relay, or ECU? or faulty harness? Thank you...
@carrazco383 Thanks! it could be a broken wire or a fuse issue!
Question? what happens if the turbo lever (not the actuator) is stocked, not going up and down? minute 11:16 thanks
@randolphrod9679 if the turbo lever is stuck it means the vanes inside the turbo are stuck, you have to take the turbo apart or replace it!
Simple and understandable. Thanks for the video.

Can you please do a video on the wastegate actuator A for 4 cyl that have the boost regulater if u ever have a chance. P0243 and p0299. Top speed is 100km flat. Uphill loses power tremendously 20 dollar code scanner
@thabrooklynfellah Yes! Actually I have a video about it in my Computer but we haven't had time to upload it yet, it will come out eventually!
Thanks!

hi, i have check all you video about the actuator, but not find solution to my problem, when the sprinter key off the actuator go full open(95%), when the engine run the actuator go to 5% full close, when driving the sprinter the actuator stay close (5% open), i use an autel to scanner to read live data, how can i test if the actuator or ECU is defective?
Thank for your good job
@johnynurd My Pleasure! what's the problem with your sprinter?
Is full boost up or down on the actuator cant figure out my problem on sprinter thank you
@stevehvac1 is your actuator moving when you cycle the key?
Hi , there are 3 numbers or part numbers on my actuator. Tell me please which is the correct to order a new one?
Much appreciate it.
@ln7606 I believe the long number should be what you need
I have a 2008 2.1 4cyl 315cdi. I got codes p0243 Wastegate actuator A and P0299 Turbo/Supercharger A Underboost condition. I found 2 vacuum regulators or solenoids under the hood pass. side. One of them looks old one looks new also when i turn the key over to contact the actuator lever doesnt move.... i have no money to fix this any advice i would greatly appreciate it from all of u guys.
@thabrooklynfellah it's hard for me to tell you what's wrong with it, you might have a broken vacuum line, a bad transducer, a bad actuator etc... I recommend you take it to a pro mechanic who can diagnose it for you!
Good evening bro
@ericayissi4775 Good evening!
electronic Turbo Actuator more than 3 wires , we do the same test, and which type of Actuator needs calibration , thanks sir
Massinissa Auto Scan These actuators don't need to be calibrated!
Do vacuum type actuator that's on w906 have to be calibrated? Could that prompt p0249 wastegate actuator a and p0299 underboost???? Or could it be bad vacuum regulators. And please answer me this man should there be 2 of these regulators or 1? Cause I have 2😶. 2008 2.1 4cyl

Hello my friend, i come back to you about my 2359-002 low boost pressure fault code, i checked the pressure circuit with a mercedes tool, and didn’t find some leaks anywhere 😢
So, i have yet this damn fault code ! Please help me,
At the beginning, i had the both fault code 2510 and 2359 -002
I changed the actuator and the 2359-002 still remain 😢
When i stop the vito and restart the safe mode disappear
It come back when i’m on a climb
Many thanks
Vito 120 cdi v6 engine
@greencard93 check for boost leaks in the induction system!
Unfortunately i checked with the original tool Mercedes and there’s no leak
What do you think about the turbo charger ? Not from the actuator but the turbo himself
Like a oil leak at the cartridge ?
I’m sorry i’m french and sometime i don’t know what that mean some words like ‘induction system ‘do you have a picture about that part ?
Thanks again👍👍👍
Hello my friend ! Hope you’re good…
About my 2359 002 fault code,
A guys who work to mercedes tell me that’s for sure it’s the geometry blocked, sometime yes sometimes no..and je say that i have to change the turbocharger complete
What do you think ? Many thanks 🙏

Hello my friend ! here is a real tutorial,….I have a Vito WDF 639, 603 135, 787, 32. of the year 2010 Engines, om 642 - V6 - 3L….I have the same model as yours that you dismantled.. with 3 Wire connection. the new actuator from the brand “NAPA” that you presented, seems to me to be of quality!. Do you have the address of the e-commerce site to purchase. I am in Normandy - France. Dear friend ! thank you very much for your answer . by Gérard Montérin.
@gerardmonterin2083 Hello my friend! I don't have the e-commerce info! I recommend you check the NAPA Website to see if you can get it from there!!
@@KITS_Auto_and_Truck_Repair …..Hello my friends ! I went to the site in question, I did not see the ACTUATOR, offered for sale? . I will go back and look, in the meantime I saw actuators for sale on eBay. most of it is mad-in-china. the prices are: 60€ to 170€…… I don’t have confidence in the quality? So, I keep looking. cordially Yours from Gérard M.
Answer to my research!: I saw 2 manufacturers in China. Very technical workshop seen in videos. 1 Chinese is in Europe in Germany = fast direct sale. The other is in China, there are taxes calculated. What you need to know before making a decision. The manufacturers offer the sale of the base of the actuator-actuator, = the mechanisms, cogs and motor. The upper stage = electronics in the cover is not offered. Other manufacturers offer the whole thing = object checked and closed. What I notice for my Mercedes vito, the breakdowns started 1 year ago. The 16 amp fuse blows and turbo and other accessories fail. Conclusion: a lot of vibration and heat from the turbo clogged on the blades and the heat from the V6, damages the circuits and soldering on the electronic board. So the whole thing must be replaced and kept within the manufacturer's standard. Did a little tinkering: re-welded too hard to last, not a good plan. It is with a short time that other problems of electronic failure arise. here is my conclusion. I am waiting for the response and a complete offer.
I am not sure this is a good test, the snail gear in these can get stuck very easily if power is supplied to them for more then half a second. So if you do this test on a good one you will very likely have a jammed one once the test is done.
@sprinterfix Oh really! I don't think so
@@KITS_Auto_and_Truck_Repair very possible they have upgraded the design since I last tested. I have noticed differences in the chips they use for these. ultimately the only one I tested this way jammed up at the top of the snail gear. Id' check one of your bad units to see if it isn't jammed.
