My understanding is a good DPF will run below 10mBar at idle and less than 50mBar at 3000rpm. What I didn't see at the start was what the DPF sensor was reading at idle and 3000rpm on the scan tool and does this match the gauge, A good man to watch regarding DPF is an Irish lad Jimmy at O'Rileys Autos on TH-cam. One thing he always says is find the cause as to why the car doesn't regenerate itself. Be very careful force regaining. A good video again young man as aways. 👍
Hi! Nice video. I have a misunderstanding. At the min 7:35 we can notice an exhaust component upstream the component were you injected the cleaner. Can you please explain the name and functionality of that component? Some mechanics sustain that being actually the DPF. Thank you!
@@KITS_Auto_and_Truck_Repair No, I’m referring to the component looking similar to an exhaust drum. It is situated into close proximity of the engine, very close to the turbocharger outlet . Looks like it is the first major component (converter or catalytic converter? …) interacting with the exhaust flow. In many descriptions it is described as being “Particulate filter “ . This is causing the confusion that I would like to clarify.
Hi Kit, I love your troubleshooting videos, I guess you have one of those very expensive scan tools, do you recommend one that’s reliable? I will appreciate if you respond to my comment. Thanks again
@user-dz2yh7lv8v I believe the fan is controlled by the ECM, I have to look at the wiring diagram to figure it out, I don't remember how the fan is wired, can you get access to a wiring diagram!
I think the flushing/clean should have been done in the opposite direction of the DPF. This means the DPF should have been dismantled from the Engine. This is what I think. So please remove the DPF and do the cleaning in the opposite direction to ensure the sooth is properly removed.
hey kits heywe have an 2014 mercedes sprinter flashing engine light no fault codes any idea as to where to start with the diagnosis. the egr has been replaced cooler cleaned.vehicle drives normal. dpf fill level 140% what is the idle pressure differential spec.
It probably is. The load value is calculated from the differential pressure along with the mass air flow, integrated over time. It will only reset if the differential pressure is lower, not just after a reset in the ECU where a new DPF is installed.
Finished watching the video and isn't that filter load a percentage number ie the filter is 2.10% full. That PSI gauge is not accurate enough. Get yourself a digital manometer to read mBar. In the video you haven't proved the DPF sensor is not at fault as Mercs are serceptable to sensor failures. I think you've condemned that DPF to early.

@101thenuke Great input!
Jimmy at O'Rileys Autos Rules DPF 🙂
great info & diagnoses .. thank you bro
@CharlesCharles575 My Pleasure Bro!
Wow that's one quiet diesel!
@ekimbrough1413 Yeah!
Brilliantly done.
@davidgooden219 Thank you!
Thanks for the video. I also have a 2008.
@Vanyoung66 My Pleasure!

@valentinbontea529 which component? the DPF pressure differential sensor?

you are great and profesional l!!!!
@GeoZhanay Thank you!
great video.
@motormotor Thank you!
I’m following along with your diagnosis and of the DPF issue. Thank you for sharing!
@commshopctr My Pleasure! Thanks
What do I need to purchase to clean the DPF and where can I get it from? I have an 08 sprinter with a partially plug DPF.
@robertheikkila4496 you can get this DPF Cleaner from your local parts sttore!
The computer showing a code particulate filter this the problem having with my 2015 Dodge. Ram promaster, 3500.
@uchennaonyenobi2651 follow the steps in the video, to find your problem!
These Sprinters are just a hassle maintaining them. Here in South Africa, operators tend to replace the diesel engine with a Lexus V8 1UZ
@nokomokwele5027 Oh really? That's interesting

@melaniopimentel6189 Hi, you can get an Autel scanner for a good price!
Hello y have mercedes benz 2012 2500 pasanger Can you help me which is the fuse and the relay for the radiator fan? Please thank you

@rvdieselecservicesv9397 at idle your exhaust Pressure differential Data PID should be 0.01 - 0.09 Psi
Wow. That's a big one. LOL!
@ekimbrough1413 Yeah!
Grasias
@martinarrieta248 My Pleasure!
Jeeeezzzz Deo that looks like a painful job!😒🙄
@ekimbrough1413 it's not too bad!
Where are you located
@Traveon2005 We are located in Frederick MD, you can email us at kitsautoandtruckrepair@gmail.com to schedule an appointment!
Does anyone know how I can apply this to a Dodge Ram pro master?
@uchennaonyenobi2651 you can apply the same principles to a pro master!
i wonder how it says 210 restriction when the engine is off
it must be a memory from the last test
@danman9017 I believe so!

@101thenuke I do need a new gauge for sure but the DPF was defective on this van check out Part 2 of this video!
No glare Deo.
@ekimbrough1413 Thanks!
Can you blow it out ?
@ekimbrough1413 I guess you could! But I chose not to
The best is delete the dpf
@cherorivas Lol, No
I usually appreciate your videos, but not this time. You are not good on DPF issues
@80lukk How So? what didn't you like about this video? I'm curious and I value Great feedback!!
