Deee-Lite is a house and club/dance group known for their 1990 crossover smash "Groove Is In The Heart," dance chart hits “Power Of Love,” “Good Beat,” and their albums ‘World Clique,’ ‘Infinity Within,’ and ‘Dewdrops in the Garden.’
Deee-Lite was formed in 1986 in Williamsburg, Brooklyn by vocalist Lady Miss Kier and multi-instrumentalist Super DJ Dmitry and became popular in the New York club scene as a vibrant and lively dance act known for their unique Holographic Techno Soul, psychedelic light show, and innovative art direction. Jungle DJ Towa Towa officially joined the group in 1989 contributing production on the first album and both songwriting and production on the second. Deee-Lite broke up in 1993 but all three artists continue to deejay to this day. - เพลง

I always wonder the same thing, why didn't she go on to make more music?
She is too cool and interesting to become a common success. I always wished she made more music. I love her voice and her style. Deee-lite was one of a kind. Futuristic and retro, before it was widely considered cool.
Hmmm maybe. But its nice to be successful, have a few $, nice car, clothes, house etc...? I used to think those things werent important, until i got older! I dunno if she'd say she was was happy with her career. She was smart, gorgeous and extremely talented and i think the gifts of her talents could have reached more people...
She still does stuff here and there. Started doing drum n bass stuff in the naughties and DJ'd all over the shop.
The whole SEGA thing really sucks . It sure looks to me like they knew exactly what they were doing and it was ripping off her whole vibe.
Not to mention her money. She had to pay Sega's legal fees, which were about $600,000 or so after she sued them. Considering how much she spoke about how their record label ripped Deee-lite off, she probably didn't make much money in the music industry, so I can only imagine how financially devastating a settlement like that would have been for her. Lady Miss Kier definitely had the charisma and presence to be a much bigger star. I think that Gwen Stefani and Fergie stole a lot of her swag for their own solo careers, just with a West Coast twist
No matter how many years go by, Lady Miss Kier always looks stylish.

Actually, they were commercially successful back then. I was working for a music company in Tokyo and they were very successful in the night clubs and dance halls. But after DJ Tei Towa left the group, their music style was not accepted by club goers and then people generally started to forget about them. So many released records during the 90's and beginning of 21st century..and most people just get bored easily or change their taste for music when they get older. It is surprising that even some big bands who had sold out many world tours back in the 80's and 90's do not enjoy the same big success they used to. So if your fav bands or artists are still doing concerts or have shows in big arena or renown clubs that would mean they are commercially successful as well as very talented and fortunate to have a huge loyal fans.

Weird that Deee-Lite is seen as a one hit wonder group. They got screwed over by their label big time. One of many victims of the music business back in the day that killed off artists and bands like crazy. Thank God for the internet and streaming. The music business in the 90s was toxic af.

Its worse now. The fact that there is no decent bands, no solo artists that can even make a decent song without taking from the old days, no originality, no groundbreaking sound, just makes it 100 times worse. Music hit a wall in 2000 and hasn't come close to recovering. So we just go back. The catalogue from 60s to the 90s is enormous. Im never bored on discogs. You couldn't even pay me to listen to music after 2000. There is NOTHING now. Like finding a needle in a haystack if anything. Covers are not it. The old days it was new daily. Every week we had some new beat and style to be amazed at.

I listened to this song in 1994, I was 12 years old. I am 42 years old now, and I am very glad that I was able to listen to this wonderful song again. Thank you very much ☺️

I met and got to party with Lady Kier in Vancouver, Canada 1994 when they were performing at Richards on Richards. She was fantastic, super sweet, and a blast to be with. I will never forget how real, and just approachable she was, truly a fantastic memory from the 90's! I still listen to the music today, it's appeal and ability to bring just simple joy is universal, something lacking today. I wonder what she is up to now, and the rest of the gang?

Dee-lite always a 90s favorite. Lots of club girls in Seattle dressed and did their make-up like her. Always found her style charming. Always wished they would make a come-back attempt.

I saw this pop-up in my TH-cam suggestion list, and I thought, why did I never see this video, I'm 48 and back when I was a teen I watched everything on MTV, BET, and VH1. Then I watched it, and as beautiful and talented as Dee-lite is, this song and video look like something that could have been made on Sesame Street.

When I was a teenager I bought this CD single and played with it in the stereo section at the mall, as I waited on my first girlfriend to meet me for hotdog and drink. I still have that CD in mint condition. Those were the days.

When this came out, i was about 22. It was 1990. We were all heading for a brand new décade. The 1980s had just left us behind, with a bitter aftertaste. We had no clue of what was going to happen ahead of us, 10 years, prior to the arrival of the new coming millenium. The 1990s was the promise of a new techno pop numeric digital age, and yet, Dee-Lite was a wonderful group of the so-called techno pop era. We were all very hip and proud to be part of it, as well. Thank you! so much, for all these gracious memories, that i treasure

This was one of my most played CDs back in -92. There´s not a single bad track on that album and I can still remember the feeling of happiness when listening to it.

I already bought all their studio albums and "Dewdrops In The Garden" is a must...awesome....Deee-Lite is still so cool that they were included in FX Series "The Assassination Of Gianni Versace (episode 7)" with a piece of audio of "Runaway"...one of their best songs(video version's the best)...I'm hooked with them for some time now...Thanks Steve for the advice and comment, which you're right.
