    Great topic. Keep em coming. I have done travel nursing pays alot but the stress and nurses still eating their young not worth it. This is why I am assisting nurses in transitioning to other areas of nursing. Peace

    All true but you can travel to different countries as well there’s no limit to how far you live from a country because you can go out of country as well....that maybe true for state to state in the US but there’s probably loopholes to that as well depending on the agency you sign up for

      Yes. I know a nurse that signed a 2 year contract to work in Saudi Arabia. She's there now has been for about 8 months

    Being a travel nurse really interests me but I want to settle when I’m older and have a big family. I heard I won’t be able to do that because I’ll be away from home :( Also could I become a trauma nurse and then later on a travel nurse??

      “Big “family will be hard you need to have a rich man or man who has good job so u can be a house wife. My travel nurse friends are all single and only become married when they retire and stay on one place . They say travel nursing is not compatible with having kids . they told me kids growth and development are “very important “ you must sacrifice your “high pay and travel” because hands on parenting is best. Don’t trust baby sitters

    Could you hold a regular nursing position at a hospital and once in a while leave on a travel nurse assignment? For example, working in a hospital in San Francisco and then in March go to Wyoming and then come back to the SF hospital a month later? Is it possible to have a regular nursing job and then go on assignments once or twice a year?

      Yes. It's called working per diem. You don't even have to quit your job. There are also strike nursing opportunities. Subscribe to my channel. I'm a new you tuber but I will be discussing all this in on my channel.

      They can work in the US! My last assignment i worked with canadians that did an assignment for a few months went home for a few months and repeated that!!

      @@SimpleFitNurse california, i work with onwward health travel company right now, they are an umbrella under AMN. They have the exact things you need to work in the us if you are canadian on their website.

    One of the best things to do when travel nursing is having a mobile home.
    Though this is an investment if you are planning on doing travel nursing for some years just investing 10k in a Rv, Van, Tiny House, etc would really be worth it and save money on housing.

    To a degree....you still do have to worry about management and schedules....I've had some assignments in which these were both less than ideal and those are a loooong 13 weeks
    You always get license reimbursement

      Math is pretty basic. I would say anatomy and physiology 1&2, micro, and chemistry you should get done before anything else

      Tey Tey it’s possible but you have to get work visas, pass the NCLEX, get international nurse licenses, etc.

      Tey Tey yes there are many agencies. I used American Mobile. Another big one is Cross Country. You could contact them ahead of even starting the process and if you’ll qualify as a travel nurse they can help you get set up (even help with licensing sometimes).

    I am 15 gonna go to college when i am 16 my mom had me to do a career class and this came up so I am looking into more of this I want to travel and see the world I grew up in NY and I traveled to Washington DC, Virginia and Florida I am planning to go to Texes soon but I also wanna get a job so I can survive I love Kids and babies so I have a passion for it I loved babies and kids ever since I was 12 so this is something I really want to do idk travel Nurse but in the Medical career

    I'm was going to be a heart transplant surgeon but my life issues are complicated and long hard to explain but all in all I decided what best fitted me personally and stuff was nursing and I'm excited for it this is what I feel ment for I feel people also under estimate nurses I wanna be a traveling RN!     The eternal question: why don't the same buildings that pay agency nurses hand over fist just pay their own staff better?? I'm considering travel nursing and indeed.com has exact same openings posted for agency as are on my hospital website for half the hourly wage...sigh
