When I was in nursing school, my passing grade was an 80. From the very beginning I told myself to just do my best and if I can at least get a "passing" grade on each exam, I would be happy. Nursing school in itself is stressful and hard enough and you shouldn't beat yourself up if you don't get a high grade every time. I always strived to do better on each exam, but I would always make sure I was happy enough with a passing grade. PASSING is PASSING and your grades won't even matter when you start working as a nurse!!! Keep that in mind and keep doing your best. I can obviously tell that you study very hard and you care enough to do well. You WILL get through this!
Also, I got a little white board from target and would write things like "I will pass my next exam with an 80+" and it would honestly help me do just that! Speaking positively about yourself and what you want from your life is a great confidence booster. Right now, my board says "I WILL pass my final. I WILL pass the HESI. I WILL graduate! I WILL pass the NCLEX. I WILL become an RN." I've been able to cross off the first 3 things. I have it hung up in my room and it forces me to look at it and read it every single day.
I hope you read all of this and I hope I can somewhat help you get through this. It's a constant battle but it is so worth it in the end. You got this!!

Wow I love this!!! Nursing school is hard I start my second year of nursing in the fall and I’m so scared/anxious also thinking about NCLEX and then I get stressed and more anxious but no one is perfect all we can do is try our best and put in the work and dedication!!
@@Laurenmsmith123 Do not worry about the NCLEX right now.. not even a little bit! I had classmates in my last semester that were constantly freaking out about it and working themselves up which made them even more anxious in their last semester. You need to worry about passing and graduating girl!! That's the only way you will be able to take the NCLEX. One step at a time! You'll have plenty of time to think about the NLCEX once you graduate I promise haha. Best of luck to you!

As someone that just graduated nursing school, passed NCLEX and got her a job at her dream hospital, don’t be so hard on yourself about numerical grades! My thought process through school was as long as I get a passing score I’ll be fine, and that helped me so much with my anxiety and performance in school! Nursing school is hard enough, and as a perfectionist myself I know how hard it is to feel like you can do better on exams, but you have to do good for yourself as well. You got this! Your grades are not your worth, and you will be a great nurse!
Congratulations! That's what my mentality has been in nursing school; all is good as long as long as I passed whatever. One of my instructors even shared an article with us about how your grades in nursing school aren't as important as you might think. You need to pass of course, but you don't have to ace everything.

I just got news today that I’ve been accepted into nursing school for 2021!!! I’m so excited and nervous, I’ve always wanted to help people that has been a long time passion of mine ! When I got into a car crash last February my life changed forever and when I had good nurses it kept my spirits up so I told myself that I want to help people just like me! You are so inspirational I’ll be following you along your journey ❤️❤️❤️ I also start a few open studies courses in January just to make my course load easier for September 2021

I was the same way. I’m happy they are letting you do clinicals. Just be safe and depend on each other. Allow yourself breaks so you don’t get burnt out. Utilize flash cards and draw out processes. I just graduated and got my license so I empathize. You can do this!
Nurse labs are bomb for studying and clinical pp! Registered Nurse RN is great too
I know it sucks getting lower grades but as long as you pass, that’s all that matters!
I just finished my first week of nursing school! To say the least, it’s different than anything I’ve experienced! I am currently taking a break from studying for my first exam which is Monday. I’m so nervous about how I’m gonna do. BUT I am so excited for nursing school overall! Does anyone have any tips on how to study and just getting through nursing school overall? I'm so jealous you guys get to go to clinicals!! This is my first semester and we aren't allowed to - all our "clinicals" are online and I feel like we're really missing out. They promise we'll make up for it but I guess we'll see :/ Good luck on your semester!
I just finished my first year im an incomoning 2nd year student, we are supposed to have a clinical exposure already last march but due to the virus it has been cancelled, we havent even finished our vital signs which is supposed to be the last return demonstration for first years. Its really hard as a nursing student to do online learning.

Girl og 😭! I am starting my second year of nursing in less than a week 😟! Can’t study at home, can’t sleep when I am anxious, hate waking up early and etc, just like you. I think I am going to use your idea of dry erase white board and try to keep the core concepts in my head 😢. I can feel your frustration and lack of motivation to study especially after long hours at school or clinicals. You got this tho, girl! We can do it!
I started working as a pca taking care of a paraplegic gentleman. When I started working for him I didn't know how much I can handle I started getting very overwhelmed. Than one night I decided to look up some videos on TH-cam that could help me. Well guess who was the first video I watch? You opened up my eyes an really helped me with my struggles at work. Now me an my client get along so well we are becoming really good friends and it's all thanks to you.. I love all your videos you are awesome keep it up.. I love the nurselabs website! My Med surg professor for this coming fall recommended it for us to review nclex questions over the summer to keep us “in gear” over the summer 😂. Love your videos!! ❤️❤️

You have weekends? Youngest granddaughter in in a 12 month ABSN course reduced to 11 months due to Covid19. They compressed all course week into first two semesters. Today, Aug 8 she is on a three week break until they return for three months of clinicals. She has a 4.0.
Im a nursing student also and white boards are literally, THE BEST.
at my nursing school we do our care plans before the clinical day and get the info at noon the day before, I’ve never seen it done this way!

C19 is rough but we all need to take the extra adjustments we need to be okay. Noise canceling headphones are expensive but useful for sure when you need quiet time. I either listen to them off or I listen to white noise or classical music to study. Hope this helps!!!

Glad to hear that your summer is going well. Your videos give me a needed break from thinking about how I'm drowning in schoolwork. I'm taking OB/Peds right now, which is fast-paced and a lot of work since it's really two subjects in one class. So when you get to that class, be prepared. Not trying to scare you, just want to give little sis a heads up 💙
I need complete quiet as well. Since our school is completely closed I have nowhere to go except my room. What i started doing to ensure that I got silence is staying up really late when my family is asleep. So i only have class early on Mondays and Wednesday’s and the other night i usually stay up until 6 am studying.

I’m way late to this video but just found you. I’m a 30-year-old stay at home mom to my 5 kids and am halfway through my first semester. I already have a Bachelors degree so I’ll be doing an accelerated program once I complete my few prerequisites. Not going to lie it was difficult. it was challenging for me to learn to study things that weren’t necessarily clinical. For example, for our first exam I picked out lab values, meds and care plans to focus on when instead I was tested on building the therapeutic relationship, therapeutic communication and different types or treatment settings. Once I got used to the change it got easier. However, mine was completely online due to covid and only 6 weeks long. I’m sure it won’t be bad at all! It’s just different!
My community college nursing program already sent the course outline up until the 1st exam...mind you, class ended mid may and they sent it the last week of May😳 they gave us a list of cardio meds, and new dosage calc math homework😩😩😩
3rd semester is about to be hell...i can feel it in my bones😩🤦🏾

Could you possibly make a video about how to get back into the swing of nursing school after failing a class? I don’t go back until next spring and I’m not sure where or when to start studying, I’m currently taking summer classes but I’m worried I will feel behind since when I go back I won’t have been in actual nursing school for 7 months. Madi!!! Thanks for another long video...I loved it! I’m convinced that if we lived close by and went to the same school we would be besties. You studying just like I do! I have to have it quiet while studying. Also, I use a white board too! I need to get a little one though. I never thought of typing my notes and then checking to see what I missed. I’ll have to try it. I start class on Sept. 1st. I’m so nervous because I have to take 4 classes while working full time. I am a “A” student so I’m going to be living off of coffee. My goal is to become a surgical technologist. No worries...when I wake up in the morning I look in the mirror like “this can’t be right!” LoL. ❤️
I put some relaxing music on, that have a playlist on Spotify and you could probably find one on Apple Music if you have that too. It does kind of help.
