Leigh, it is your reviews, and yours alone, that carry the most weight for me when considering a keyboard purchase. You walk the walk and certainly talk the talk- thx!
Good demo, but I think you need to add some old fav's for us "older generation", yep I understand you are demo-ing the features, but some of us would like to hear how it sounds if we are inclined to consider purchasing this.
It is a great keyboard. Wonder how it sounds live, must be beautiful. Styles well designed for what the hardware supports. Some other brands have some more complex style options in design but is very difficult to master. Yamaha keyboards are super easy to learn and if you love the 80s for example it is a must have brand.
HI Leigh - Just wow....pretty impressed so far with what this is offering in our fave catefory of rock and pop. Question - how much of my current sx900 registrations would transfer straight into the sx920 - or am I going to have to do them over again? (we have about 70 so far)
Wow, the sx-920? Really? I can't believe how much Genos is in there. But then, that just seems to be Yamaha's philosophy, you don't get worse, you just get less. I love it! As for the jive, that has been around for quite a while now. I got it on my psr-s650, but it's been taken to such a different level, like you said. I really think, though, they should take the Strings that are on the psr-s650 and make them the default, because they're much better than the new ones. They're really similar to those in the legacy section on todays instruments, if not the same. Other than that, what an instrument! I, too, need to be careful not to sound like someone who's selling them. I'd say, that just shows how good they are.
Would you recommend this for a very amateur player. Or is this for a more seasoned player. My last keyboard was the Technics kn1200 which i sold years ago. I'm just looking to while away the hours in retirement. Thanks Steve.
I looked at the voice lists, and I have good news and bad news. The good news: all the Genos drums are on the SX920. The bad news: they're not the full Revo! versions.
Surprising, both SX900 and SX920 are sold on Amazon for the same price of $2299. It would be interesting to see what exactly is missing in SX900. Styles and voices are uploadable, so (maybe) some of these can be migrated to SX900 from SX920. But some advanced technology like Super Articulation 2 - not sure.
I'm considering a used Genos 1 or SX-920. I see quite a few comments favouring the Genos 1, although there is still a price gap of about £300 for a SX-920 vs a used Genos 1 when factoring in speakers. Are there any apsects of the Genos 2 in the SX-920 such as styles or drums that are not in the Genos. Or is the Genos still the overall winner and is the keyboard feel significantly different?
@@andrewp9115 Genos has the older drums and voicing where SX has the newer pop drums and the SA2 *. Genos 1 will give you much more content and a 76 note keyboard. I personally would go for the Genos 1.

Sorry, Write in German, Because my englisch isn‘t good enough. Ich kann den Einwand mit den fehlenden Volume-Reglern voll verstehen. Eine Lösung wäre gewesen, die Rädchen des PSR8000 wieder einzusetzen. Die waren gar nicht schlecht und brauchten wenig Platz.

Thanks, perfect. Good upgrade. Portability is key for me, i take it with me in my motorhome. Good quality, speakers. It's just perfect.
Hello can you use the chord step edit function with user styles with the SX920? With the SX900 and Genos 1 it wasn't possible
Awesome demo, thanks.
My pleasure!

Thanks. I sold my sx900 because the pianos were not what I expected. Think I will now buy the Sx920.
@@pianobernie you’ll be very happy with the sx920

thank you.

Good morning Leigh, that's probably the genuine baby Genos!! Even the guitars sound more realistic!!
So cool 💙
It has finally arrived mini genos 2
Hi Leigh, Genos2 player here. Love your Videos! Does the keyboard action feel the same as Genos? Thanks

Love your demos. Are the pianos noticeably better than the sx900?
Yes very much so

excellent sound! does it have revo drums too ?

Hi Leigh. Do you know whether SX920 can play Genos1 styles without any modification?. Thanks.
Are you hooked up to your HS8's or just using the built in speakers? Can you not save your favourite voice without stopping to get it?

Yes it’s delay and reverb.

It doesn't have a separate FM engine, but it may have sampled AWM2 DX voices.
