  • In my daily update of South Africa, I am at the Boulders penguin colony in Simon's Town in the Western Cape Province. As you enter the area, you move down wooden walkways and get close to the penguin colony. On this specific day, it was very windy, and the penguins stayed close to each other, trying to hide from the wind. But there were a few who came out from the ocean and tried to get back up the rock out of the water. I was able to capture a few attempts as they tried to get up the rock. I also added a short piece to the video on the Roman Rock Lighthouse. It is unique and something to see as it is the only lighthouse built on a single rock in the ocean in South Africa.

Years ago, when there were only a few of them, we swam in Boulders beach with them! You just kept your distance, because they are very inquisitive! They would wobble up to you ,and looked " WHAT kind of penguin are you??" Good old days......🐧🐧🐧❤

Sunny day with onshore wind down in False Bay just like us here in Swanage Bay today. Penguins 🐧 just so amusing and they rule Boulders. Still have the signs up on the roads for '🐧 Crossing'? Lovely, thanks for sharing. God bless 😊

boulders was better when there were NO PENGUINS, it was a quiet place where you could fish and sleep overnight and have a braaivleis, SO COMMERCIALISED NOW ITS PATHETIC
