We don't have a taxation problem. We have a government spending problem. Its too easy to write checks when it's not your money.

Not being a math person (🤷♀) quite often he's hard to follow . I've watched David Schweikert several times and he's convinced me that our country is in big trouble from over spending
His total refusal to accept the fact that the fact that in our fiat system, our government can never go insolvent unless it chose to. We do not have to borrow a cent to cover government spending. Why should it have to borrow dollars when then have the sole ability to create as many as they need. Our government sells securities because they choose to, not because they have to. Selling securities provides a tool by which the Fed can control the money supply and it provides a safe place to save dollars. If and when the SS trust funs runs dry, all that needs to be done is what we've been doing since 1971 when we left the gold standard, and that is to replenish it with newly created money.
What you said is technically correct. But you didn't mention that just printing money results in inflation and eventually your money becomes worthless.
@@tomcarr6416 That is not true. It may be true if the spent money did not return a greater amount to the economy. MMT is for investment that grows the economy not eats away at it. I don't know where you got that from.

The worst taxes in history is the VAT tax and the pass through entity tax. It's a straw man inside every investment we have! Those taxes alone have controlling interest to party.

What is healthy about paying more for everything. That decreases the value of the dollar. I don't get it. How about quit wasting our money? And why is every politician a millionaire?
Give me control of the Federal budget and it will get sorted out extremely fast. And there will be a lot of government employees looking for a new job in the private sector.
