THEY DID IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Jackie and Shadow, did it, another bald eagle will shortly take to the skies. What a happy day!
I can’t believe the egg is still intact with Spirit stomping all over the nest with his big clown feet! He’s so adorable.
And Spirit acts like s/he is brooding on the egg at the end, nestle up and laid down.
It is going to break Spirts heart when the egg breaks. I saw S or J, one of them the other day roll the egg and snuggle down on it,!😢

@@CoExist64 This is the first year I started watching nature cams, I can’t believe I missed out until now! I’ve been a bird watcher for a long time, especially since I moved up to the Lake Tahoe area. We have amazing wildlife here but bird nest cams give such an intimate view of family life it’s impossible to not get emotionally invested. Plus the cam community is such a nice group of people, it’s very hard to find an internet community that’s not toxic in some way. My parents used to take me camping at Big Bear way back in the 1970s, that’s where I got my love of mountains and wildlife. Hope you have a great day. 🦅😊

Shedding tears of joy, our precious Spirit. I love how( I think it is a she) cradles the egg at the end of the video, so gentle she/he has such a gentle demeanor.

Great little jumper there! Both feet off the nest, you could see the pride in Spirit's face. Won't be long before the jump is higher and the aim is for one of the rails around the nest. Are we all ready to see this eaglet become a fledgling?

Thanks Cali for sharing this video! It’s amazing to see Spirit having his first jump! To navigate with those huge wings in the nest, stretching and strengthening to eventually fly is quite amazing! It's like watching a baby take first steps. I feel like he/she could make a safe landing if he/she fell out of the nest.
This eaglet has been doing so much independently. I just believe he or she is going to accidentally get knocked out of the nest. Always so close to the edges. I don't know if that's just a curious eagle behavior or if it's a natural way that they learn about being high up in the sky.
