  • Welcome back to another week with us, we are still down the south of Western Australia, its been two months now and this will be the last episode from the south. We have truly loved it here and the entire south coast of Australia, think its gonna be pretty different from now on. Easter is over and we are ready to go north after this week. But in this episode we are chasing my dream fish: DHUFISH. I have been looking all over the south coast for this fish and I finally found someone that could take me diving for them: Todd Dixon. Thanks so much mate for helping me find this fish, could not have done it without you. Anyway join in for our Dhufish adventure, we also find lots of other good fish. We stocked both our freezers and also gave lots of fish to the farmer of the property we get to stay at for free. (Thats why we spear that many big fish.) We cook up the Dhufish as a crumbed poké bowl and wow this is an amazing way of cooking the dhufish, you have to try it. Hope you like this episode, like and subscribe to support us

    Awesome fun, Dhuies are just best ever chew. Please tell us you kept the wings, and used the frame as entrée. The Swim bladder makes the best Crackle ever FWIW, and the head is the best soup base stock! What a day out, living the Dream, in a beautiful part of Aussie! Go you good things. Chook on. Dive safe, have fun! 🍻😆👊✋

    • @LifeAdriftAU
      @LifeAdriftAU  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes they are so good. The farmer got one off the wings and we had the other for entree in cam. Unfortunately we are living in a tiny van and can’t manage the head with small pots and small fridge capacity.
      Thanks for watching. And yes we will chook on 👌🍻

    So you guys understand the woke world we live in currently……? We aren’t supposed to call them “Jew Fish” in Florida anymore. Harvest and possession of Goliath grouper-formerly known as jewfish- have been prohibited in Florida and U.S. federal waters since 1990. They say it remains critically endangered on the International Union of Conservation of Nature list. Fines can be $500.00 per fish and up to 60 days in jail. They also can live for up to three decades. Just a bit of trivia for you!

    • @LifeAdriftAU
      @LifeAdriftAU  ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh wow in Australian we are still aloud to call them jew fish. For how long we don’t know.

    Nice fish pity you didn’t learn the West Coast Bio region laws first but, mixed species bag limit of 2 Demersal fish per boat, 4 Demersal limit, in the video you have 2 Dhus, 1 Boar fish, 1 Grouper and you also mentioned a snapper? Puts you over by 2 species 🤦🏻‍♂️ if you’re gonna visit from out of state at least learn the local laws please

    • @Lachy30

    • @Lachy30
      @Lachy30 ปีที่แล้ว

      I didn’t see your reply sorry, but in your video you said you were in Margaret River and as you were in a boat the next closest bio region would be the south coast, closest place to launch a boat would be windy harbour, Nita great launch spot unless you really know what your doing and a long way from Margaret River
